This aguachile was unfortunately extremely disappointing. My mom was trying aguachile dish for the first time... there was not even lime juice. It was just water, so there was no tang to this. There was no salt or pepper seasoning, soooo plain. There was no jalapeño or hot chili type of essence in the "lime" juice. It tasted like somebody just put regular water, shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and onion in a bowl so plainly. Only positive was the fish was good quality. read more

This was my initial visit, and I was genuinely pleased by the warm atmosphere and the thoughtfully arranged seating options, both indoors and outdoors. The staff who attended to us were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I ordered the Seven Seas pasta, while my nephew enjoyed three fried shrimp tacos. Both dishes were flavorful and generously portioned, allowing us to share. We nearly finished everything, but took home three additional shrimp tacos to enjoy later. This establishment has quickly become one of my favorite seafood spots, and I look forward to returning to explore more of Mariscos Los Altos's menu. read more

Most of the spots in Tracy are closed by 6-7 pm on Weekends, & weekdays usually too to be honest. This spot stays open until 9 pm. It's located right on 11th street, about 2 blocks from Tracy High. The menu has lots of choices, and unique from other Mexican restaurants or taquerias. They don't have your standard chicken, carne asada, al pastor, carnitas options for tacos or burritos though. So if you're going there for that fix, you won't find that option. The food quality was very good, with some good natural zing/spice to the dishes. read more

Reviewing the tostada de ceviche de Camaron and the clasica. I would definitely recommend them both if you're in the Tracy area. Shrimp was fresh and perfectly balanced with chile. The ceviche de camaron had enough Serrano peppers to give it a good kick but still room to add hot sauce if you wanted. The clasica was not overly sweet and also tasted fresh. And they included enough tostadas for everything which made it very easy to serve. Overall, I would highly recommend if you want something fresh and reasonably priced. read more

I will give this place a 2 for now. The taco was good and I enjoyed it. I got the asada, i would actually order it again. First time coming here so I tried that and a burrito. The sauce is not hot, it's a sweet, soy type of bbq sauce if you ask me. Not spicy at all! However, when I got to the burrito it was the biggest piece of trash I've eaten. Not surprised, this whole city of tracy has the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The first bite I got was mostly gristle. Had to spit it out. After about 25% of the way through there was no meat. Just beans, guacamole and rice, and refried beans. I just tore off that 50% until I got what appeared to be meat. Nope. The last 25% was just gristle again. Spit it out. You can see in the pictures what I had to throw away. I would recommend taking this off the menu. At least trim your meat if you are going to use inferior chuck steak. I paid $16 for 1/4 burrito. I'll go back to try the Mariscos. Maybe I'll change it to 3 but as of now I would not recommend the burrito. I've tried all the places in Tracy for Mexican food and none are good. An incredible array of well prepared seafood. My pescado frito was lightly seasoned, not oily, and was served with 4 grilled seasoned shrimp, rice, tortillas, lemon, and lime. My wife had "4 X 4" shrimp. That's 16 large shrimp prepared four ways: grilled, bacon and cheese wrapped, coconut fried, and plain fried. Her dish included fries, salad, and a spicy sauce that perfectly complemented the shrimp. Service was friendly and attentive. Was passing through Tracy and was craving some seafood. Saw this spot pop up on Yelp and decided to stop by and give it a try. SO HAPPY I did. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and for the price ($15) it was well worth it. They put a good amount of shrimp and the flavor took me back to Mexico beachside. The shrimp are jumbo and taste fresh. Probably would've been better if they were cold (same goes for their micheladas). The molcajete sauce was ok. Octopus was super tender, short ribs were decent. The sauce tho, kinda reminded me of a watered down Alfredo with a hint of tomato. Since we moved here in Tracy about a year ago we wanted to find that Mexican spot to go to. The people are amazing. The food is to die for. I always order the Michelada models especial. Bomb!! So this place was interesting. I ordered 3 shrimp tacos and those were actually pretty good, though, I wish there had been more shrimp in the tacos. I liked the sauce they put on it. I also ordered their horchata and it was okay. It did taste a bit watered down, so I probably wouldn't get that again. The ceviche I ordered, was okay too flavor wise, the order isn't very big, but the tostadas that came with it were pretty good. They tasted fresh. The menu kind of threw me off because the pictures and descriptions were unappetizing but that's normal with a mom and pop place like this. This business has two locations in Tracy, CA; one on 11th Street and one in the Tracy Outlet mall off the MacArthur exit from Hwy 580. If you're going to order in advance, make sure you're calling the right restaurant because the phone numbers are literally one digit off! We're pescatarian (only fish and veggies) and love good mariscada when we can find it. We've only eaten at the location in the Tracy Outlet mall and OMG!!! this place has amazingly wonderful flavors! We order the small mariscada. Portion was generous and filled with so many varieties of shell fish. I would like to see some actual fish filets in the mix, but this is one of my favorite mariscadas! Also tried the fish tacos (because another review recommended it) - and they were awesome as well! This place is located in a mall where many stores are empty - so parking is ample. I've had no challenges with staff or service; but we've only ordered to go. Be forewarned, there might be live mariachi music being played in the restaurant! Not bad if you love a party atmosphere!
