It's probably safe to say that most in the area were aware of the impending winter storm. It was a friend's birthday today, and I wanted to take her somewhere unique and special. La Creme was just the place! As we walked through the door, we felt like we had ventured to a far away place. The interior is light and airy. Shutters with window boxes hung below lined the long narrow dining area, causing the place to feel like a street side Parisian cafe. Soft jazz added to the relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the Tuscan crepe while my friend ordered the Apple Streusel crepe. Our order came out quickly and our server was incredibly pleasant and polite. Both dishes were well-plated and looked as amazing as they tasted. The Tuscan had an excellent texture with the crepe being, light and flavorful. The filling included chicken, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, pesto and feta cheese. The flavors blended perfectly to make a super savory treat. The Apple Streusel crepe had fantastic presentation. Sweet apple filling with a rich cream cheese mixture were layered together inside the crepe. A nutty cinnamon streusel sat on top surrounded by dollops of whipped crème. It was delightfully sweet and rich with flavor. Dark roasted coffee complimented our birthday brunch perfectly. We will definitely visit Le Crème again on another occasion. read more

The customer service and care the second you walk in is outstanding. They were about to close but let my group of four in and welcomed us to please stay and enjoy their food. Decided to come back here after a year since my previous experience was NOT good! When I arrived I had to wait more then 20 minutes only to be seated outside next to a pile of dirt and very close to the main road in zeeland where I along with my party where startled when van ran into the fencing at the outdoor sitting. So overall atmosphere was not a good experience for me. For drinks I paid $8 for a lemonade that tasted like Minute Maid. The coffee that I ordered for my friend you is lactose intolerant was supposed to be made with alternative milk but it was sure enough made with dairy milk because my friend became very sick shortly after going to La Crème. When we asked to share a crepe since portions are large they charged us with a split tax so we we're actually paying more just because we wanted to share it... ridiculous. Overall it seemed overpriced for what you were getting. I think your better off going to other French restaurants in Grand Rapids or even places like Le Bon in Holland if you love the French cuisine since this is now my second bad experience with La Crème in Zeeland. read more

My wife and I stopped in for lunch last week and were pleasantly surprised by the French style bistro. The decor fit the scene. The service was fantastic and our waitress was knowledgeable answering our questions about menu selections. My wife ordered the Monte Cristo and I had the Notre Dame. The crepes were fresh and delicious. We will be back soon to try a crepe from the sweet side of the menu. read more

Food looked good but never got a chance to try it. We put our name in and waited for a table for 1 hour, we knew the wait would be about this long so this was not a problem. Once seated, we ordered our food immediately and proceeded to wait another 45 mins, nothing. We asked when our food might be done and they said another 3 tickets were in front of ours... 15 mins. We decided to ask for a refund and leave which they were accommodating. It was clear watching all the chaos there is no organization, they were asking what people had ordered multiple times versus having a system to better manage it. Three people seated after us got their food, ate it, and walked out at the same time we left. While waiting for the food we watched a server deliver an incorrect order to one table, then the people opened up the crepes (touched with hands) said they were not right. The server then took them to the correct table. We couldn't believe they did this. What should have been done is remade the order. Gross!!! We won't be back to try and wouldn't recommend due to the fact they didn't seem to have knowledge of proper food handling or a system in place to better run their business. read more

Thoroughly enjoyable with friendly attentive service. The crepes were fresh and tasty and the cafe latte was perfectly blended with a hint of carmel, my only issue was it wasn't served hot. That said, side order of potatoes were very flavorful but not overly plentiful and the side of fresh greens served with the crepes were a bit on the skimpy side. It's a bit on the higher price point for breakfast but definitely worth a visit. Try and avoid the back tables if possible they are cramped and uncomfortable. read more

The owner is quite delightful, and an elegant woman to listen too about her Wonderful travels in France and abroad. Came here for breakfast with a group of friends. I think we were all thrilled with our crepes. I had le louvre (blueberries, lemon, cream cheese), delicious. This little spot is such a breath of fresh air for the area. The holland/Zeeland restaurant scene has needed something a little different from usual cafe or breakfast fare. Here it is. First time visiting this establishment so I had no idea what to expect. I was blown away! Fantastic food and service. You can even watch them make the crepes! I got the Italie and my son and his wife got the Metro. The grandchildren had a yogurt bowl with peanut butter, banana and granola. They practically inhaled it. So our main lunch came from the savory side of the menu and then we of course had to try something from the sweet side of the menu. We got one with strawberries, cream cheese and whipped topping and one with bananas, pecans, caramel sauce and whipped topping. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. We also got a scoop of vanilla gelato but it was melted by the time we got home in spite of a very good take out container. You will be very happy and full after experiencing "La Creme"! We ordered our food at 9:16. Fourth-five minutes later after watching the people before and after us being served we found out our order was never added to the food deck. I got the monte cristo crepe and it was absolutely amazing! However, there were no alternative dairy options and I was kind of shocked to see that they use styrofoam take away containers. I said no to the plastic silverware since I was just taking the food home but there are plenty of other options to use instead of ones that will ruin the environment.
