I ordered a pizza around 9:30pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant's website clearly state they close at 10:30pm, so I figured I had plenty of time. I ordered 1 pizza and when I ordered they told me they'd bring the pizza out to me when it was ready. I waited patiently for 40 minutes. At around 10:10pm I went to the counter to check on it, only to find they had already put up a "Closed" sign and the staff was clearly shutting down for the night. They hadn't even started making my pizza. No one bothered to tell me, cancel the order, or offer any explanation. I was just left sitting there for nearly an hour with nothing. This is the kind of local pizza joint that I wish was more local to me. The garlic pie with sausage was pretty damn good. And while wood-fired isn't my favorite style of pie--that would be New Haven--it does have many of the qualities I do like. That medium thick crust that is firm, but not floppy is a like. The just thick enough sauce is a like. And that good smattering of sausage and garlic hit the spot between skimpy and indulgent. I like the service too. It is in a food hall with good vibes, ample seating, and noticeable energy. I thought that would add up to them being super busy and slow. But my pie came out quick, the servers had good rapport, and there was just an air that these guys and gals knew what they were doing the whole time. I usually complain about the toppings not making it all the way to the ends which leaves an abundance of crust but this time I'm not. I was craving for pizza one lazy Sunday afternoon, and saw La Crosta was available for delivery. It was our first time to try, and it definitely did not disappoint! We ordered their meatlovers pizza, called the "GodFather" and the Gabagool pizza, which had calabrian chili and honey. We also ordered the sweet chili wings. Pizza is my favorite food (top faves: Pizzeria Bianco, Pizzeria Mozza, and Pizzana), and I'm glad we have quality pizza close by! The meatlovers pizza was a tad salty to be honest, and the Gabagool pizza was a little too spicy for me.. but the crust and the quality ingredients really shone through. My husband and I couldn't finish everything so we had leftovers for the following day. Since the crust was very thin, it only took less than five minutes of broiling in the oven and they still turned out yummy! I even felt like it was better as the crust was crunchier in the oven, I actually felt sad when we finished the leftovers! We loved their pizza crust. We will definitely order again, and try some of their other pizzas (except for the one with pineapple, a blasphemy! Kidding). Although I did not watch it being made, the beautiful pizza presentation said it all. There were bits of coal dust underneath the pizza, some areas charred with bubbled crust, and lovely cooked layers of cheese and toppings. For a group of three: BUFFALO WINGS - Buffalo wings (6) came with a side Ranch dressing and was well cooked. The cost at this restaurant feels a bit steep. I think spending $2 per wing is not the ideal price range. There was a lack of appetizers, so we chose the most filling option. MOOTZARELL-CLASSIC (Fresh Mozzarella, San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Basil, Extra Virgin Oil) - This is their classic MARGHERITA PIZZA. Anytime I'm a Neapolitan-style pizzeria, I judge the quality of their pizza-making when I order their Margherita. After taking a bite of their pizza, it was SOLID. From their mozzarella to their tomato sauce, it was on point. FUGAZZI (Fresh Mozzarella, San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Basil, Pineapple, Bacon, Jalapenos, and Hot Honey) - I wonder if they got the name of this pizza because some people believe pineapple and bacon can coexist. I will end the debate: pork and pineapple work and this pizza debunks it. Here, they layered extra ingredients of jalapeno, basil, and hot honey, which should receive a high compliment. My daughter and i ordered a pizza from La Crosta at the Whitwood plaza in Whittier. Everyone was very nice meaning the workers. Nice looking restaurant and sitting outside as well. When we got our pizza and opened the box the pizza was like slippery looking. The sauce was dripping the crust was super thin you literally had to use a fork to lift it up to take a bite. The pizza here has got to be some of the best in all of LA. My favorites are the Gabagool, Fugazzi, and of course the Godfather. I love that they always come out hot and the ingredients are so fresh. The wings here are to die for as well. They have 3 flavors but, I love them all. The arugula salad is delicious too and they load that bad boy up. Catalina is always super sweet and helpful. Was there last night excited to try La Crosta. To our disappointment our experience went from bad to worse. Doesn't seem liked the staff was prepared for the large crowd. While in line for 20 min we were told they had to stop taking orders because they were out of "numbers". That we could return in 20-30 minutes. We decided to wait as our visit was specifically to try their pizza. It was evident the staff was overwhelmed with the volume of orders as it seemed they were discouraging potential clients from ordering. After the 40 minutes in line we finally ordered. They did advise us it will take an hour. We were fine with waiting an hour. However 1 hr and 20 minutes later, we go check the status of our order. It "just went in the oven". We check back 10 minutes later (1 1/2 hr wait) and there was a manager in charge arguing with the client that ordered after us! The client was told she would get a refund for her purchase and the manager kept insisting they would not refund her that for next time the customer should know they are busy and they should now the wait can be longer than 2hrs. For next time you should train your staff to set clear expectations for the client. Mind you the client didn't ask for the refund the nice lady that took the order offered the refund for their inconvenience, true customer service. Clearly that manager in charge not only lacked client service experience, she lacked management skills. She should've assisted her staff and stepped up to the front line from the beginning by now 2.5 hrs ago! She kept dismissing the client with a very demeaning attitude. Your front line is a representation of your business it is the face or your brand. Do better with you choice in management and prepare for an unexpected busy day/night. Support your staff & my goodness have basic customer service skills. Don't employ managers that clearly don't know how to speak to people. A simple apology would've been suffice, but instead your manager kept insisting in her words " well next time know if it's busy it will be a long time!" read more

Bad service! Because they're BUSY they think it's ok to leave wings in the open and customers are coming over and speaking over food. Luckily our pizza was in a box and wings sat on top of the pizza under a food warmer but disgusting enough to leave the wings in the open. This place needs to practice a better sanitation process.
