Been going there for years both dine in and delivery, they HAD a great steak sandwich and it's always been very good......well today it was a big dissapointment. Sandwich had plenty of meat but when I held it grease came out like it's soaked. When I called the server and showed her the grease all over my plate and napkin her response was "we are using a new meat" ive never know a steak to be greasy, I ate about half the sandwich but the grease started grossing me out. Her response was you should have said something earlier! 1 star for dry pastrami on dry crunchy bread only. I wouldn't even call it a hot pastrami cuz it's warm. Other sandwiches are better. If you want a hot juicy pastrami loaded on a soft French roll with pepper corn. Go to tams down the street. Delicious read more

Ive been coming here since I was born. The sandwiches are especially good. I love the roast beef, the meatball, and chicken parm subs. I also love the pasta salad! Its the best. I got to try some pesto pasta woth sausage and tiramisu at the Booktoberfest. It was delicious, but only made me want to go back and enjoy my favorite sandwiches. I will be back soon. I have to preface this by saying that this is only a review of the cookies at the deli location. I have always loved their pizza. ravioli, lasagne and sandwiches. But I bought 14 dollar's worth of Italian cookies to bring to a little coffee gathering with friends. EVERY type of cookie was stale: Lacey's, wedding cookies, biscotti and jam-filled butter cookies. So, we've been going to Lascari's for at least 20 years now but have had poor experiences with the Beach Blvd location. Just last weekend we went to the Lambert location and it was great. My friend lives near Lascari's Deli & Bakery, and according to her this is a local family favorite. We met at the restaurant/ deli but then after a misunderstanding left. The inside has a small market of imports, a large deli counter and a separate small dessert counter with cookies. The next day we again returned and had dinner. You order at the counter and they brought our meals to us. Drinks are self-serve fountain drinks. They have a seafood menu, pizza menu, salad menu, and Italian classics menu. They also sell gelato. My husband ordered the chicken pesto pizza, and I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. My food came with choice of soup or salad. My friend loves their crispy chicken salad and was quick to share her love of the house ranch dressing. My dinner salad was lettuce, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, cucumber and a tomato. At first glance I was thinking I'd pass, but it was fresh, the ranch dressing was good and I ate it up. My entree was very bland. The pasta was cooked well but the Alfredo sauce wasn't buttery and after two mouthfuls I decided to just eat my salad. The chicken I think is precooked nuggets . The dish wasn't cohesive, I boxed this up to eat later. The dish included broccoli which I liked and picked out to eat. Also it came with fresh bread and butter, my husband ate up. My husband's pizza was topped with the same chicken tender nuggets, and he too took half his pizza home. The food is okay but bland; perfect for kids and family groups. There were absolutely lots of happy customers on a Tuesday night. The staff was very attentive at bringing food and clearing away dishes. Been meaning to get back to this review for a while...have not had Lascaris deli delivery ever since this incident and vow too-never again! Its a shame because my family actually did enjoy the food and has asked since for it but the answer is NO, and here is why. I have never been a fan of racism or bigotry and when it is handed to me I tend to react instantly and with very little patience. This heavy set older Caucasian male had delivered to my home in the height's on more than a few occasions and seemed to have trouble with his card reader every time. Mind you lascaris is not the only one who delivers to la habra heights with its well known network connectivity issues, but is the only one who cant seem to deal/resolve the issue on there -end seemingly. Even though being the customer, and dealing with this was at best an annoyance, I was patient yet this person pulled a smart a$$ attitude with me every-time. During the final-straw incident, he started to talk to me in a horrible attempt at broken Spanish as if I am not understanding something and when I informed him I actually dont even speak spanish the guy moves from a smart a$$ attitude to just plane rude. When I remind him of how this has been dealt with in the past he acted like he had no idea how this was solved before and as I offered at the time by me paying online thru there website. He went on and on until I cut him off and said look, in an effort to not waste any more of our time, do you want to take the food back or let me pay online? He agrees to let me pay online but stays as if he wants me to do it in front of me. I mention it will be a minute or two as I am alone with my two young children and he can wait outside if he wants. He stated that it was ok and left. One thing lead to another and my children pulled my attention off of making the payment. About an hour passed by and I have this banging on my door as if it was the police or something...it was the delivery driver who had returned asking why I had not payed yet. I reminded him that I actually did attempt to pay however he was the one with his device that could not make my initial attempt work. He did not seem to like that comment and got in my face in front of my kids. To say the least that really made me upset and if it wasn't for my kids being there I would have folded him up on my front porch, but as my kids looked on all he got out of me was "get off my property and don't come back", and with a look of shock he left. I paid the bill online as discussed but was leisurely about it purposefully, but the message I included when I paid online that night was "hope your staff is proud, they just lost Lascaris a dedicated customer who orders approx 2-3 times a month at an average check of $80- $95 each delivery. Was in the neighborhood and decided to check out Lascari's, which hit the spot. Got the triple Dec sandwich, which had ham, turkey, avocado, and lettuce. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they give you 3 option for a side with your sandwich order. It can be potato salad, macaroni salad, or pasta salad. I went with the pasta salad which I liked and it complimented the sandwich. The store was super clean and well kept. The workers were really nice and helpful. Attended a wedding where this food was catered and WOW the food was delicious! The servers that were sent were very professional and nice. 3.5 stars I happened to be in the neighborhood and found myself at Lascari's for a snack. I ordered the Submarine ($10.50) ~ their rendition of the classic Italian sub: Italian cold cuts, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, vinegar + olive oil. So good news! For being an Italian sub, it certainly esccaped the soggy factor ~ twas just a contained soggy portion of the sub. The bad news: the sandwich was terribly bland. It could have stood for more vinegar, olive oil, or something. I was taken aback at how bland the sandwich tasted - their choice of cold cuts were more conservative in flavor so they didn't really offer much to the sandwich. How disappointing because, after all, this is an Italian deli. They also offer a variety of entrees which is great if you're looking for a quick and easy dinner. Prices are incredibly reasonable. What in the Whittier! This place has been hiding in the shadows! By far the best catering experience I've had ever. Our life balance committee at work decided to have a Christmas party in-office. We looked up catering spots nearby and found this spot! Sure, a bit farther than we had hoped. But definitely still doable! They have it all; appetizers, pastas and desserts. We ordered party trays of lasagna (both meat and non meat), fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli, garlic bread, and two different salads. Everything was fresh and delicious! My favorite was the non meat lasagna- there was a lot of ricotta cheese and I loved it!! Everyone enjoyed the food. For catering an event, the food was great. Lascari's has been a staple in whittier for years. personally, it played a crucial role in my childhood since i grew up going almost every friday after school. recently i had the change to visit after a while of not going and it was great! i ordered the grilled salmon ( which came with a side of fettuccine ) and the 1/2 spaghetti & 1/2 ravioli plate. the food was great however i was a little disappointed with how little ravioli was served. service was good because it was made incredibly fast & still tasted amazing!!! overall i would totally recommend trying! u can never go wrong with Lascari's :) read more

I couldn't decide between Claros or Lascaris to order lasagna. After a lot of thought I gave Lascaris my business. The best decision ever!! The lasagna was delicious and being Italian we are hard critics. It was packed with cheese and ricotta and a meat sauce. It was absolutely amazing! We in addition to the lasagna purchased the garlic focaccia. Mama Mia!! Hit it out of the park. All this for my Moms 85th birthday and each and every guest left with a full stomach thanks to Lascaris! I'll be back! read more
