We used to frequent La Distileria when they were located on 287. We were bummed when they closed. However we recently found them again on 136th. We were excited to return. Unfortunately, it's not the same. It's a better location and nicer building but the food has declined. It seems they are trying to be more of a pub by serving a variety of genres. If you are looking for tacos, lasagna, pot roast, hamburgers...... then this is the place. I have found that variety tends to breed mediocrity. Our meal was dry but greasy.... Odd combo. I gotta tell ya they were out of this world to the point we had seconds. We ordered Camarones Fritos and the Chicken Taco Plate. Stopped in for a quick drink while waiting for an even nearby. I was pleasantly surprised with La Distileria. Their menu is extensive and offers quality cocktails- with quality liquors- for a reasonable price. Opted for the Suprema Margarita and was not disappointed. This margarita packed a punch with three different liquors/liqueurs and several added flavors. The complimentary basket of chips and salsa were also very tasty. A good, mild spice and flavor to their homemade salsa- yum! Will definitely be back for another drink and to try some items off their menu- all looked amazing! read more

Stopped in for a beverage at the bar. Service is very friendly. Complimentary chips and salsa were brought to us immediately as we perused the menu. The cocktail, La Distileria Suprema, lived up to its name. Poured in a ceramic glass resembling a blue agave heart, this margarita had a kick. Three different liquors are used (reposado tequila, orange liqueur, and St. George's pear liqueur) with fresh lime and agave nectar. I recommend getting the Tajin rim to add some spice and salt. An arch of luchador masks greets you when you enter. There are a couple of seating options, either in the bar area or the separate dining area. Happy Hour (Hora Feliz) runs M-F 2-6pm with 50% off tapas. read more

Food, service and decor makes this restaurant a repeat experience and a nice choice for dining in Broomfield! Eclectic menu with pizza and Mexican dishes. The shrimps were a good size and the enchiladas were devoured. Next time, we will save room for dessert. read more

I hadn't realized one of our friends had ordered chips and salsa. When our main dishes arrived and the chips still hadn't come, she reminded the server, and they finally brought them. The chips tasted like something from the supermarket, the salsa was quite bland. On the bright side, my house margarita was good, strong enough and not too sweet, just as I'd asked. The plantains were tasty, and the (Italian) meatballs I ordered were good, although the tomato sauce was too acidic. Overall, It was a mixed experience for our group: some enjoyed their meals, others were disappointed. It might be fine to visit once you know what dishes work and which to avoid, but personally I don't think I'll be going back. And they should definitely update their website so that it more accurately reflect the type of cuisine they serve. read more

This place needs some work. It is a nice restaurant with spacious seating and potential, but the food was mediocre, and the service was not good. We ordered the salsa trio, and all of the salsas were terrible. The green salsa has no flavor, The red salsa is spicy but lacks flavor in the last salsa I have no words to describe. It's more like a diced-up tomato and cucumber salad. The house salsa is good, so please stick with that. We also ordered the Chicharrón and avocado. Save yourself from disappointment. It comes with only three Chicharróns and the guac lacks flavor. The wings were the best part of the entire meal, and that, to me, says a lot because you really can't mess up wings. My aunt and I wanted to order more food, but starting with the apps, we were put off. They are a bit pricey, and I'm glad we were there for happy hour Because I definitely would not have been happy paying the total price with this place, especially since we were the only table in the establishment. I went when they first opened and our group was underwhelmed. My husband and I stopped in this past Sunday for lunch and we were blown away. So we brought our friends back last night for Happy Hour. We all loved our margarita's and there was a special "hot toddy" type drink that was amazing (you pick what alcohol, or not, to add to it; we tried whiskey and mezcal). The service was friendly and fast and food delicious. You definitely have to try the pork shank! Also liked the pazole verde, shrimp appetizer, guacamole and queso flameado. I am needless to say I have mixed feeling about this establishment. I was thinking I was coming for Mexican food but shame on me for not reading what was on their menu... it was just Mexican food is was Italian and American cuisine on it as well. The restaurant itself had good decorations on the inside making it feel very welcoming and music in the background as well. The service was decent it was a Friday night when we went and it wasn't busy so I felt it was a little slow for being less packed, the lady taking care of us was very nice and friendly. We ordered the loaded nachos with steak and I was unfortunately disappointed, the steak itself was way to over cooked and you could taste the burnt crust of the steak. Locally owned restaurant completely underrated! Mix menu of Mexican and Italian. I've had the meatball app and the lasagna a few times. Lasagna is legit authentic to what we've had in several trips to Italy. Had several italian restaurants in Denver and this by far was the closest I've had to actual Italian. Prices are very fair/ portions are excellent. Oh and the esquitas app also is not only a meal on its own, but it has to be my favorite in Denver. Broomfield's hidden secret for sure! Being a truly NAFTA family, who has lived in Mexico and Canada, we have international tastes. What I was most impressed with was the friendliness of the staff and and owner. Their liquor license had been temporarily suspended due to the faults of the state. Now booze is back. I had the Barria tacos and a nice salad. My spouse had the pozole. It wasn't quite what she read expected, but when she put wine in it, taste improved. Perhaps the Cook should just squeeze the lime in it ahead of time. She still thought that it tasted different from she's had in Mexico. She did like that. She liked my Birria better. I read the reviews of Alex A, Mary D, and Linda B. These spoiled-brat harridans came with American expectations and did not realize that this is a part of Chilango cuisine. Sure, I could work a week-or-two in that kitchen and probably improve the items on the menu and the menu itself but all in all I think it is a good place. We will return. read more

They need some serious sound absorbing panels - the noise is over the top in the arcade, particularly when dads go in there trying to punch the bag game they have. Our waitress was super pleasant but lacked any skill in waiting tables. She was incredibly inattentive- didn't even clear our plates when we were done eating. The location was a little difficult to find, but WELL worth the search. The food was amazing, not your usual boring Mexican food, this was a fusion of many different flavors you could taste. The drinks follow suit, they are great tasting and far from boring. Four of us sipped our margaritas while patiently waiting to toast our friendship. Appetizers arrived, as did apologies from the confused staff. This restaurant seems to be under new management. The menu is improved greatly over the previous ownership. I met a friend for lunch and sat outside on the patio. Good drinks. Good food. I came back with my family on a Saturday night. The full menu now has street tacos, small plates with caramelized plantains among other delights. I went to this restaurant for the first and LAST time. I order a tapas plate with shredded beef that was in a corn tortilla and fried. They corn tortillas was so tough I had to ask for a steak knife to cut it. Normally I would pick this good up and when I tried the greasy meat filling oozed out. I also order guacamole which was flavorless and needed seasoning and maybe some acid from a lime or lemon. Also tried the House Margarita which was so alcohol loaded and didn't even taste like a margarita so I sent it back and stayed safe with a beer. We were huge fans at their old location off 287 & wanted to see the new location. Got there at 4:30pm on Saturday to avoid the dinner rush. The decor was nice & we were seated right away. The minute we sat down our serve asked what we wanted to drink. We hadn't even opened our menus, so we asked her to come back. I thought it was odd she didn't introduce herself or ask if we'd been in before. You know, the normal server banter to make you want to give them a bigger tip. 2 pages of food & 4 pages of drinks means they are trying to be a bar now. We waited & waited. There were only 4 tables & double the number of wait staff but we had to ask for our server to be sent over. We gave our order & didn't see her again. The food was a disappointment - the house margarita had more ice than drink in it. The queso was watery where it used to be lovely cheesy with chorizo. My chili relleno was fried to a crisp where my husband's pollo con arroz what fried chicken wings on a bed of rice & beans. They used to have 6 different sauces you could order, but that's no longer available. The menu is significantly less than it once was. I was going to try to order dessert, but we waited & waited with the loud Mexican music. As the bus boy was clearing our plates, I asked if he could send our server over and he asked what her name like he was didn't know the wait staff. Got there just before noon and I ordered a bloody but was told that the mix wasn't ready. Mind you, they charge $18 for a bloody mary and didn't have them ready even at noon on a Saturday? Major fail. Didn't even get a "sorry but we can do something else for you". My daughter ordered the burger medium which was overcooked and my chile relleno was ok. Seemed like fresh ingredients but lacked that extra flavor. The guac with chicharones was good but they only give you four pieces of pork rinds? When we first came here, we noticed how beautifully decorated this place is. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We were pleasantly surprised on how good the food was! The queso was delicious, we couldn't stop eating it along with the chips and salsa. The tacos were very good, I highly recommend the shrimp tacos. They were all delicious, very fresh ingredients and complex flavors that worked together to make each dish unique and enjoyable. The drinks were great too (spicy margarita, mezcal Negroni)! The service seemed confused, mixing up which orders went together and which plate was which. They mixed up one a few of the tacos we ordered, so they brought the right tacos but ended up charging us extra for them. They couldn't find their manager to correct the bill.
