    Traditional poblano chile Riano
    Richie H.

Great local Mexican restaurant. You have to try the queso appetizer dip it comes out in a fiery hot bowl and the cheese gets burnt on the side of the bowl and is amazing to eat.. I had the traditional poblano Chile Riano crispy, and there was nothing traditional about it. The sauce that they put over. It was amazing. Staff was extremely friendly and playful at the same time.

The details are in the food and it was thoughtful, warm and honest. Thank you for working today.

The food is so expensive. If they want to succeed they better get the menu right. 1 crispy relleno $16 and it was no bueno.

We also ordered the farmer's Benedict, which was very flavorful. The only thing I'd change is that it comes with sweet potatoes on the side and a sweet potato hash brown under the eggs, so it ends up being a lot of sweet potato. It might be nice to have regular potatoes as an option to balance it out. The beignets were incredibly soft and paired perfectly with the lemon curd. Would definitely come back and would love to try the dinner menu next time!!

Despite this, the "kitchen was backed up" and received our order roughly 40-45 minutes after we ordered. This was not an issue for me so much as I kind of expected that on Father's Day, but considering the dining room was not packed I assumed this was a staffing issue. I was more annoyed by the fact that after we received our drink order and placed our food order it was another 15-20 minutes until we saw our waiter again. She passed by several times, clearing tables etc and would not make eye contact so I could order more drinks. I was about to go to the bar when she finally showed up. She was very nice but also very absent. I think she may have been working the patio as well, but the other servers inside seemed to be much more attentive to their tables. The food was quite good. I enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs quite a bit. I was a little disappointed by the spartan amount of sausage gravy and I asked for the poached eggs medium (firm white and runny yolks), but as in every restaurant, they served be extremely runny whites and yolks. The biggest turn off, however, was the 2% "Operational charge" on the bill. Boulder County now has a minimum wage for tipped employees at $16.82 as well as the expectation of a 20% tip, yet restaurants have the gall to charge these additional fees so that their customers, not the business support their employees. Raise the prices of your products by 2% to cover operational costs like any other business. It is very off-putting to ask your customers to pony up additional funds separately to support your business. When I see these add on charges I will not be supporting your business in the future.

I have never had delivery, so I can't address that, but I do pick-up and it is always ready. I ordered 11 pizzas for a special occasion all with different toppings and wanted them at 12:45 (lunch time). I got there about 10 minutes early and they were doing the last of our pizzas. The pizzas were all done at exactly 12:45 and everybody had the toppings they asked for. I thought that was amazing. All the pizzas were hot. Great service and food!

I…read morego through all our complaints and take them pretty seriously, and do my best to make sure that things are addressed and corrected for the future. As for the mini, they tend to press a little more difficult than the mods so tend to come out slightly wonky, and with bumpy edges like that. I will say the sauce should have been brought out closer to the edge in a few places there. We aim for a thumbnail worth of crust all the way around, and it is evident from the photo that that is larger than it should be in some places. As for the cut, though I wasn't at the store last night I do know we were training on expo, and that is the reason the cut is not the best. It's a tough position to train as we need the person there to be nailing things to provide you guys with a satisfactory product, and when training that is not always the case. Also, our mini doughs are less than half the amount of dough as a mod, but pressed to just over half the size. This results in the mini crust being a bit thinner than a mod, and it crisps up much more and is more cracker like than our normal pizzas. Personally I never get a mini as I feel the crust and dough tastes severally different than the mod size pizza. For the mega, it is two of our mods pressed together to give it that thick crust. Because of this, our megas bubble much much more than our standard mod does. Bubbles are not a bad thing, the steam that is created within the bubbles helps the pizzas cook, but it can also create problems where it moves toppings and cheese if not popped quickly enough. We were also training an oven cook last night as it was a slower night and after talking to one of my managers who was on shift they did express that the trainee was struggling a bit to get bubbles popped before they got too big, which is likely what happened there judging by the photo. As for the toppings, that's kind of a subjective area, as the more toppings that are on a pizza the less we put on of each so that we can create a standardized product, and not be serving these four inch thick pizzas that are more like a casserole. We have a company meeting next to discuss changes to portion sizes, and that will likely alleviate the issue you had there. But you can always request extra of a topping in the future if you feel you aren't getting an enough. We have just cracked down as a store on over portioning so that our food costs can fall more in line with where they should be. Speaking of extra toppings, I had saw on the mega you ordered extra sauce as well as had a comment about the sauce. I can't tell from the photo whether or not you received the extra sauce on the pizza, but I can tell you some things about it that the owners don't want me to. Our pizzas do not sit or travel well, you have about a 15min window to eat the pizza before it kinda becomes a completely different product. It is one of the reasons we fought against delivery for so long, and it wasn't until COVID that we started doing it just to keep the business afloat. If I remember correctly you had ordered delivery? If wrong I apologize. But I have no idea how long that driver took to show up and grab your order, and then drive it to you. The megas when sitting will really absorb the sauce because of the extra dough, and that may explain what happened with yours, though I'm just taking a guess under the assumption that we did make it with extra sauce. I believe the last point you made was that it tasted awful. I can't speak to this, as it's purely your opinion. We try our best to create a standardized product that looks and tastes good, but we have very little control over the taste aspect so my focus is almost purely on making sure we create a presentable product. Sorry to throw so much information at you, but let.me know if you have any other questions or comments. I have left the store for the day, but am reachable by email and when I am in tomorrow I will reach out to our office to have your order refunded.

The veggie combo platter was disappointing. It consisted of two falafel that were hard as rocks and two grape leaves that were just OK. The rest of the plate consisted of some hummus, some baba ganoush, a good bit of parsley salad, and about half the plate of white rice. She also brought some pita bread. So, most of the plate was filler. I've been to other restaurants that were much more giving of the substance of a veggie plate. My friend had already ordered a serving of grape leaves, so I was quite full of that. In fact, the appetizer was more satisfying than the plate, which cost double what the appetizer did. My friend didn't seem very impressed with her gyro sandwich. Although the lunch was disappointing, I remembered that the baklava was made with pistachios, so I convinced my friend to order a piece, which we shared. We both thought it was the best baklava we'd ever had. I think the owner ought to open a bakery and sell that baklava. If her recipe is that good, I'd bet other pastries would be great, as well. But unless she gives more falafel and grape leaves plus more to eat on a veggie plate than so much rice, it's not worth the menu price. I think the only reason I'd go back would be for the baklava.

I like that the menu is constantly changing, so I can always try something new. There are usually a few staples, too. The tacos are priced reasonably so you can try several flavors. Every now and then there's one I don't like as much as the others, but that doesn't ruin the experience. The ramen is priced well for the amount you get, too. The only thing I consistently haven't liked is their guacamole. But I do like their avocado and salsas. They have a decent happy hour and, recently added, a "taco Tuesday." The kids menu options are pretty good, too. The hot dogs are a hit. Sometimes the buttered noodles are, too. The tiki drinks are great fun, and they're always trying something new. In the past, they've put lemonades in fun cups (like the hedgehog cup) so our kids can enjoy a "fancy drink." The service is pretty fast and consistent. They bring you a nice jug of water to help yourself with refills.

So it was shocking that I found such a good bowl out here in Erie. I got the Hellfire Ramen, a tonkotsu-based ramen served with their house spicy sauce, chili oil, pork shoulder, and a soft boiled egg. The broth was rich and flavorful, the spice level was perfect (quiet hot but still maintaining a good balance of flavors), and the pork shoulder was tender but still has a bit of nice toothsomeness. Overall, this was an excellent bowl of ramen comparable to any of the top spots in Denver. The only slight downside is that the broth was just a tough too salty for my liking, and I would've preferred a soy marinated egg over a soft boiled egg. They have other ramen here was well, such as a chicken-based shio ramen, a regular tonkotsu, and a Thai curry ramen. I definitely would return to try the other ramen. If the other items on this menu is as tasty, I wouldn't hesitate to give them 5 stars.

The ribs were good- served with a thin bbq sauce that was heavy on the pepper, most of the ribs were nice and meaty. The sweet potato fries were good as well- they serve Kensington ketchup, which is a little more peppery and has a different texture than the usual, I do recommend that over the honey mustard as a dipping sauce. The honey mustard was pretty heavy on the horseradish. My husband got the slider variety. The burger had a thousand island based sauce on it that made it a little different from the usual burger. The regular chicken sandwich had a lemony flavor to it. I preferred the hot chicken sandwich- the heat creeped up on you but it was good! Their chicken was super thick and juicy- probably my favorite part of the meal. The fry portions were huge. Service at the counter and at the table was very sweet and helpful. It is pretty standard set up like you would expect from a place like such (think bowling alleys, Top Golf, Dave & Buster, etc.) although Chicken N Pickle is HUGE, I almost got lost exploring the place. This is their advantage because you can hang out inside or outside depending on your mood! Inside is obviously where the pickleball courts are. For a large place, I feel there still isn't enough courts. And the courts are too close to each other. When you have recreational family playing who has never played before, half the time is spent on picking up each other's ball from across the courts! The food was ok, nothing to write home about, including the chicken. One nice thing about them is that they did allow us to bring a cake to celebrate the birthdays. Very excited to see ping pong tables out in the lawn area. Though the tables and paddles are terrible, not the standard ping pong materials. Needless to say, when the ball lands on the lawn, there's no bounce. So they should really switch up the placement of the sports and have ping pong be indoors (players will thank you on those windy days) and more outdoor pickleball courts.

For context, you can pick out what you want in your bowl, similarly to Waikiki poke, or Chipotle for example. When you first make your plate, you can ask for pita- I asked the staff member for pita, and was ignored. I had to repeat myself multiple times. When I got to the vegetable section where you can pick five for a plate, I asked for the village salad and was ignored once again as the second staff member proceeded to give me tomatoes. I just asked for lettuce and onions as a replacement for the village salad. I made the mistake of asking one more time about the pita- and the person checking me out responded with a look of disgust? I proceeded to ask one more time. No apology or frankly some sort understanding. I asked for the name of the people working- should've asked for a manager because this staff member proceeded to lecture me about giving bad reviews, and called me weird multiple times.
