    (3) GORDITA PLATE

I was in the area and had some time to kill, it was a toss up between this place and the Thai place next door. I'm glad I chose Mexican. The service was very friendly and very fast. I ordered the Gorditas. Although they looked more like sopes, they were great regardless. The gorditas were great. I wanted spicy and that's what I got! It was nice sitting out on the patio and enjoying a nice meal. I think it was a tad over priced for what it was but I enjoyed it and will likely return.

Very imaginative entrées. My chicken enchiladas were amazing -- they use marinated chicken, and it makes all the difference. The Classic and Coco Loco margaritas were perfect: refreshing, flavorful, and not too tart. Friendly, prompt service. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

Cute little Mexican cafe off 144th. We were welcomed in right when we walked in the door. Our server recommended some things on their menu, so I tried their enchiladas and they were delicious. Flavorful and not spicy. I love Mexican food but I am a wimp when it comes to spicy food. Portions are decent. Will definitely go back to try some other menu items.

Excitement over the Churro Ice cream cart

Beautiful decor. Quaint and charming. We started with the chips and queso. Had the el pastor tacos, the steak tacos, and the kids shared the cheese quesadilla. Everything was delicious and we especially enjoyed the kids quesadilla with rice; it was incredible! Service was excellent and we highly recommend the churro ice cream cart. Wow! So good.

    Strawberry Horchata

Looking for a new restaurant we found this hidden gem. Menu looked great, location is easy to find next to Safeway. Several tables inside and outside. Breakfast is served all day... we were tempted! Margarita was delicious and smooth. Order the chips and salsa, it's not your typical salsa. Everyone found something on the menu and it was all delicious- we were trying each other's food. Quality of food matched the price- it's worth it! We can't wait to come back and try the churro cart. My kids order horchata every chance they get - they were pleasantly surprised to see a strawberry horchata option. Service was excellent, offered lots of suggestions and tips.

    Chicken flautas

Eat here! It just opened, and I want it to succeed and stay around so I can eat here for a long time. Limón y Sal has a small menu of really good Mexican food in an attractive, simply-decorated space (see photos). Keywords: a light, simple, fresh, clean take on Mexican food. I had the Red Enchiladas, my wife chicken flautas. The Enchiladas (see pic) looked and tasted wonderful. They had a simple and tasty red sauce, containing pistachios in some form (I didn't taste it as such), an appropriate amount of chicken (not little, but not crazy either) in fresh corn tortillas folded flat, not rolled into a tube - a new one on me, but very nice. They came with rice and refried beans. You need to taste these to appreciate them; clearly Mexican but such high quality you will be amazed. The flautas were crispy, again with the right amount of chicken, and flavorful, served with green (milder) and red (hotter) dipping sauces. The rice was, well, rice. Plain and white, with a little green garnish. The refried beans tasted fine, but the beans had gone through a blender. I personally prefer it with some whole beans still present, but this tasted good. Overall, a great experience. We're in particular looking forward to their Chilaquiles; we've not had them since we left Austin 10 years ago. Their hours are breakfast to early-ish dinner, early morning to 7 PM. The name actually means "lime and salt", which surprised us; we didn't know "limón" was "lime" in Spanish - and were informed it really means both; when you mean lemon specifically it's "yellow lime" ("limón amarillo"). I never knew that. Anyway, it's clearly because they have a wide selection of Tequila, and obviously want to sell a lot of it.

On my search for the best Pho in Denver, I visited Faifo Noodle House last year and got their Beef…read morePho with extra Beef Rib. The broth was deep and aromatic and the portion size, especially with the beef rib, was massive. Everything was so impressive that since that visit, this place has been on my regular rotation for pho. Beside Pho, they have a few other offerings, one of which is rather unique. For the more adventurous, Faifo offers a spicy beef pho. This is a dry-style pho serves with all the fixin' and a spicy sate style sauce that makes for an amazing meal on a hot day. It also comes with a bowl of pho broth for satisfying sips between bites. This is easily one of my favorite dish on the menu and a must try here. Beside that, I've also had their Bun Bo Hue, which is pretty dang tasty. The broth is very tasty, though not as funky or spicy as ones I've had in Vietnam. Nonetheless, it's a mighty tasty bowl and something to get for the colder days here in Denver. Both the Bo Kho and the Banh Canh are also very good as well, though not a must compared to other dishes on the menu. Overall, Faifo is a great Vietnamese restaurant. The value is also tremendous given the portion size. This is an easy 4/5 for me.

Wow, how fortunate are we to find this unicorn of a restaurant that serves bò kho and many…read moreVietnamese staples. Their bò kho definitely reminds me of my father's recipe, which is rich and not overly sweet. This aromatic Vietnamese beef stew is a fragrant broth infused with lemongrass, star anise, and spices. It's a bowl of distinct and complex flavor profile that balances savory, sweet, spicy notes, with a vibrant brick-red color from the annatto seeds. The cuts of beef shank, flank, and chuck were soft so you know they spent hours simmering to achieve this level of tenderness. The deep beef profile is highlighted when adding bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime juice to cut through the richness and carrots provided a natural sweetness to the savory broth. Bánh canh is a Vietnamese noodle soup featuring thick, chewy noodles made from tapioca flour, rice flour, or a mix, served in a flavorful broth with various toppings like pork, shrimp, crab, or fish cake. The broth is clean from the hours of simmering bones to create a savory, collagen-rich base. You can taste the freshness of the soup garnished with fresh cilantro, green onions, fried shallots, lime, and chili oil. Plus you get a boat load of proteins and garnishes - shrimp cake, imitation crab meat, shrimp, quail egg, mushroom, tapioca noodle, onion, cilantro and black pepper. We'll be back and try the bún bò huế and cá ri.
