San Francisco pizza - very greasy, good drunk food
    My D.

Basically drunk/hangover food; very heavy, cheesy, and greasy food. We ordered: Mussels "with a touch of cream": 2/5 - it was a cream bath. The bread was stale. San Francisco pizza: 3.5/5 - great if you're drunk. Our hands very dripping in grease/oil. We still ate most of the food because we didn't want to waste it but my stomach did not handle the food well. I had to call it a night immediately after and tossed the leftovers.

Amazing food, amazing service! You must eat at La Rustica when in Sayulita. Everything fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff is very attentive and work together to make your experience enjoyable. There is no better hospitality than Mexican hospitality!

One of the best meals we had in Sayulita. The service is prompt and attentive. And the food is oh so good. Who knew you could find Italian food this good in Sayulita?

One of our favorite restaurants EVER. We had such a fantastic time in Punta Mita and La Rustica was a really big part of that! The service is exceptional -- everyone is so friendly and welcoming (shoutout to Karla!!) Incredible cocktails, delicious food, great vibe, beautiful interior design and right on the ocean. I honestly can't wait to come back. Highly, highly recommend this place!

Came here over the weekend for a wedding and went to dinner here one night. We got a table on the patio and ordered their truffle pasta and pepperoni and ham pizza. Both items were delicious. If I had to choose, I would pick the pasta over the pizza. Cocktails were on the more expensive side for Mexico standards but were really tasty as well. Service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant, if visiting Sayulita. PS - I got pooped while sitting outside on the patio so just be aware that it's not necessarily the best seating at the restaurant.

La Rustica is a restaurant specializing in modern italian and craft cocktails. It has a hip vibe and opens up to the street entirely. It has an accessible but upscale fibe. It's got the modern warehouse loft style and is way more put together than most of what you see in town Service was great and plenty of folks checked in. The pizza was great. Wood fired. The artichoke was awesome too. Huge two halves layered with Aioli. As a side note, i saw a few groups got food poisoning about a month ago. This is really unfortunate. As a reminder, you are in mexico and it's easy to get some different bacteria which we are unaccustomed to. I see nothing of concern with the cleanliness of this place. As much of a drag as it is, you need to protect yourself wherever you go. IE stay away from fresh fruits and vegetables unless you clean them. Thats why we got the artichoke instead of a salad. The

Pro's: Great location, excellent food. Con's: Nothing Go back?: Yes! More... Yes, I was Sayulita and ordered a chicken sandwich! Lol. At this point in my visit, I had devoured the most wonderful tacos, rellenos, mole and more. This day, I just wanted a simple chicken sandwich. I loved this sandwich because it was a medium thickness slice of chicken breast, not overwhelmingly large and not skimpy - just perfect. It was grilled and I am certain, marinated. The flavor with the perfectly sliced avocados, mandolin slices of red onion, aioli and crispy bread was perfection. The bread was SO GOOD, my friend bought a loaf (she lives there).

This little spot is cute, with a lot of solid Italian food options (which seems a little odd in Mexico, but if you want to switch things up it's a good choice!) we started with the artichokes, which were honestly horrible. It was like they were dried out and no one at our table enjoyed it. For our meal, I split the rustica pasta and the mushroom pizza. Both of which were awesome! The mushroom pizza was perfectly cheesy, with a little truffle oil. My husband got the fish of the day which he enjoyed, and then our friend got the poke bowl, which he said was good. They have a huge wine, cocktail and beer selection, and I enjoyed the house red. Lastly, we ordered the fried shrimp, but somehow ended up getting French fries, which were good, but disappointing to never get the shrimp. Besides that hiccup though, the service was great!

This is a popular place and reservations are highly recommended. It's more American style food. Tables are tight & very close together. The windows are open to the street side which allows the street hustlers come up to you & try to sell their goods. It kind of disrupts your dining experience. I guess this place is known for their pizza since that's what a lot of people were eating. I ordered the paella which had undercooked rice. I couldn't even eat it all. The steak and frites were probably the best on the table. The panic mussels were also very yummy. It was a great place and close to downtown with a lot of activity happening. One of the nicer places to have dinner at. I'd visit again, but maybe order a pizza instead.

We never ate here but spent $$ on drinking here at their cocktail bar. We sat at the bar, no reservations or wait needed. All their cocktails are delicious! I think I tried all their mezcal and most of their margaritas cocktails. Their carajillo is also delicious. Cash only or spend a certain amount to use credit card, I think it was 800 pesos.

Definitely a hole in the wall place especially speaking since we weren't expecting anything of it. For under 200 Mexican pesos you can't go wrong either.

We should have moved inside but moving inside would not have made the food any better. I got the breakfast sandwich and basically refused to eat it. The scrambled eggs were the only good part. The bread was old and hard, there was like cold cuts ham on it and a piece of lettuce. My mom got the huevos rancheros and it was deep fried and tasted like it had ketchup on top of it. Both came with a side of potatoes and beans and the potatoes tasted like they were for a dinner entree with chicken. The whole situation was bizarre and just made me sad. Just really one of the worst meals I have ever had. Plus the inside of the restaurant looked disheveled and the bathrooms were awful. At least our server was nice.

Increasingly, they bring big city attitude and behavior which is in direct contrast with the local business people and restaurant operators. One such case is Leda. We have enjoyed numerous meals at Leda in the 4 years that it has been open. Last night was the last. In a sheer display of audacity, the restaurant would not provide a wine list, instead suggesting that its list changes rapidly. I am ok w that. Where my problem lies is that when asked if we wanted Cabernet, Pinot, etc., the waiter directed us to a particular ($13 retail) Italian wine. Without sharing the price, and frankly, me not asking the price, I went on trust that my selection would be a reasonably priced wine ($40-$60). Anything higher I would have expected a confirming comment from the waiter. No such thing. After enjoying a wonderful dinner and 2 bottles of wine, I was shocked to see that the 2 bottles of wine cost more than the multicourse meal for 6. I was shocked and felt violated. Certainly I share some of the blame for not asking but going back to my opening comment, the owner (from LA) is just looking to gouge his transient guests. I did approach the owner and he was dismissive and non accommodating, rather suggesting it was my fault and apologizing for not training his staff well. Enjoy dinner here at your own risk. I am not the first to write a review like this. My suggestion is to enjoy a meal at one of the many local operators. They love having you and are in it for the long haul. I have cancelled my reservation for 10 next week at Leda.
