Arguably the best pasta spot in PV! Slightly higher end and a little more expensive, but impeccable service and great menu. I sampled my sister's tortellini, dad's rigatoni, and then had my own heaping slice of lasagna. All three dishes were good (I'd probably recommend the rigatoni as the best). Sneaky best part of the meal - the bread. They slather this white (possibly mayo base) on it that has some really amazing flavor. Top that with the spicy green sauce that accompanies it and you have a five star experience in your hands. The marina is a cool place to spend an evening and I would start with dinner here! read more

Lovely dinner at Porto Bello last night. It's an upscale place with white tablecloths and soft live music playing, and a great view of the marina. Service was fantastic, responsive, helpful, and bilingual if needed. I really enjoyed my eggplant parmigiana, accompanied with a nice pasta and veggies. And our Italian wine worked well. It's kinda pricey, but on par with the other restaurants in the area from what I saw. Definitely recommend. read more

Beautiful restaurant at the marina. Make a reservation or you will not be seated! This place is popular. Go on Thursday night and ask for a table outside. Theres an art and local craft market that starts at six within view. Very entertaining. The food is classic italian and very good. I had shrimp scampi, tomato burrata salad. My hisband had nonnas lasagna and it was perfect. Good wine list also. read more

We found Porto Bello just walking around the Puerto Vallarta marina. The restaurant from the board walk looked upscale and inviting. They were not busy when we arrived. We tend to eat earlier than most people. The food was spectacular! We both enjoyed a shrimp dish. The meal is served with warm bread and fresh butter. The shrimp was fresh. You can always ask for bottled water with your meals. We realized eating fresh food there is no need for salt and pepper. We didn't use any for any of our meals. The service was spectacular and the view of the marina and the yachts offered a pleasant and dreamy view. We recommended this restaurant to many people we met at the resort. We will be back the next time we are in PV. read more

Food here was excellent and the service was great too. The waitstaff was very attentive. Had a reservation and showed up about 30 min early but was still seated right away. Place was almost full but still had some seating left that slowly filled up as we dined. The green chili sauce that came with the complimentary bread was excellent! Had just the right amount of spicyness to it. We also got the marinara risotti, another excellent dish, they don't skimp on the seafood, very fresh and abundant. Same with the tricolore con pollo rose, the sauce was excellent. The fried calamari was also very well done. Not too oily and had the right amount of crunch to it! Our family greatly enjoyed this experience. Came to around $70 usd, so not a cheap eat in Mexico by any means, but a good change from the daily mexican diet we've been having! read more

The atmosphere. Waiter's and food was amazing. The fresh bread was buttery and sprinkled with peppers was delicious. Lovely dinner. We had cesar salad to begin with and shared an Osso buco , accompanied with mushroom risotto. It was so good that my husband and I have decided this we will be our dish. We ended the evening with an Italian hot coffee with choice of whipped cream or ice cream we decided on the latter . Oh I had a bottle of Pinot Grigio and my hubby had Aussie Shiraz . Located in the middle of the Marina, with a great view of the water. The atmosphere is great in the evening hours. I ordered the tricolore Pollo Rosé which was outstanding. Great flavor with perfectly cooked pasta and chicken. The service was great and quick even though the restaurant was full. We did not have reservations but they were able to seat us quickly. I suggest to make reservations as it does fill up in the evenings. This is one of our favorites restaurants to go to when we visit Puerto Vallarta. Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere and view of the Marina. Four of us arrived for dinner based on recommendation from the hotel concierge. Osso Bucco was ok. Nothing to write home about. Pasta sauces were generally too thick and heavy. Rough when air conditioning was basically nonexistent. Turns out there are tons of Italian restaurants in puerto Vallarta. This was not our favorite. read more

This is for the PV Marina location of Porto Bello but I give five fabulous stars to both this location and the one located in Nuevo! I've been numerous times to that one, and both restaurants offer some of the best Italian food I've found in the area in a beautiful setting with attentive service. I have a feeling that this restaurant is constantly busy, but if you like a fun vibe, I recommend making a reservation for a Thursday evening on the patio. You can make a whole night of it as the Farmers Market happens just outside, so you can see the awesome local business owners selling everything imaginable, hear the buzz from the people shopping, and also enjoy wonderful marina views! For something a little quieter, I'd suggest dining indoors where you can't go wrong either. Some of my favorite things to order in no particular order and not by actual menu name but by my American description / translation: -Eggplant Rollatini appetizer -Caesar Salad -Capellini Pasta with shrimp -Tri-Color Pasta with chicken -Rigatoni Pasta with eggplant -Linguini Frutti di Mare -Eggplant Parmesan -Chicken Parmesan (Great for kids) They will also create anything special upon request which is perfect for my kids. Pasta with butter and parmesan is always a hit in my family :) Porto Bello has a wonderful wine list + full bar and specialty cocktails too. I've always been too full to have dessert, but I imagine you can't go wrong with anything on the "dolci" menu. What a difference a year makes. I went to Porto Bello a year ago (Jan 2023) and had the Vittelo Portobello (veal scaloppini in white wine sauce with shrimps and Portobello mushrooms) I loved IT! I order scalloppini at every opportunity everywhere and am seldom disappointed. This time I was! The portion this year was about HALF the size of last year's and the quality was dismal. I think the dish was prepared in advance and kept in a warming oven for a long time because the veal was very over-done, the three large shrimps were rubbery as was the spaghetti. The sauce was congealed. The best thing on the plate was the steamed veggie serving because it was probably added at the last minute before delivery to my table. FURTHERMORE , in addition to the reduction in the portion, the price has gone up 60 pesos from last year !! IF I EVER GO BACK, I sure won't order the veal ! VERY disappointed ! We were there during a Thursday night market. Probably a big mistake due to how busy they were. The food is very good, but the service was very rushed. We went at 7:30 pm and Salvatore was our waiter. There seemed to be plenty of staff, but they took our bread off the table and we were still eating it and had to ask for more. We never had the right amount of place settings. There were five of us and the person who ordered soup never got it until much after the rest of us. I think it got forgotten. I will go back, but not on the night of the market. read more

This is a nice little Italian restaurant in the marina, they have seating outdoors on the patio as well as a room inside that is air conditioned. Overall, we had a nice experience here. When we first came into the restaurant it was empty and filled up while we were there but didn't get too busy. They have an okay list of wines by the glass though it seemed like a number of them were not available. Our dishes were both very good, no complaints with the food at all. We had a Passionfruit mousse for dessert that was really good. Out waiter was very nice, we speak limited Spanish but we made it work and had great service. read more

Our family has been visiting Puerta Vallarta for the last 26 years. Each of our visits would be for two weeks and Porto Bello was our go to restaurant for Italian cuisine and good service. It's location in the Marina area was pleasant and in years past the service and food was "good". In May of this year we ate there twice. The first occasion was uneventful and the food was "good". We returned a second time and had a very disappointing experience with both the food and the service. My wife and I ordered our regular dish of "chicken piazzola". The dish had clearly been prepared in advance and then microwaved for service. The chicken was raw. We complained immediately to our server and told him we did not want the dish reheated. We asked him for some pasta marinara and concluded our meal. The server came with the bill and essentially charged us for the two dishes with a slight discount. I told him we would not pay for the pasta marinara and paid for a glass of wine and the salad we had ordered. After arguing over the bill it was adjusted. I attempted to leave a "propino" tip which was given back to me with the comment he did not need this. We had returned to Porto Bello even though I became very ill in the past from eating their linguine and clams. Unfortunately, the Canadian owners have left the restaurant in the hands of its employees with little or no supervision. If you like microwaved food this is the place for you! My family and I love coming here but the past two years in a row we've arrived to find out they don't have our reservation. The first year the reservation was made by the hotel concierge. This year we made it ourselves to ensure it was done correctly. We asked for a confirmation number but they stated they don't provide that but they assured us we wouldn't have a problem. Yet we show up and they have zero record of our reservation but told us we could dine if we ate nearly an hour before our reservation time (We'd gotten to the marina early to walk around and shop) so this ruined our entire evening plan. Since keeping a reservation seems to be so difficult for them, I just won't make one ever again. That's easy! read more
