I'm not 100% sure but that's because I came towards the end of the day so most of the pastries I got were a bit stale. BUT the flavor was delicious and very good. Wonderful family owned bakery with weekday lunch options. In a strip mall with other choices to dine in and then stop here and grab a dessert or some bread for dinner. The staff were nice and the insides felt like a traditional Italian joint. Everything I had was fresh and delicious! I didn't bother waiting for dinner and just finished it when I got home. Italian Sub: a grinder with salami, cheese, lettuce, tomato on a crunchy and soft roll. Great for lunch. They make it out back, so let them know you want one while being tempted on your dessert options. Cannoli with custard : crunchy with a nice creamy filling. It was great, but lost out to its brother. Cannoli Sfogliatelle: this was a religious experience for me. The layers were crisp and crunchy. ASMR worthy. The filling was absolutely delightful. You need, not must, need to try one of these. What a surprise find! I was excited to try the Arancini and I was so glad we did. They were better than most in the Chicago area with lots of filling in a couple of peas. I would've like more peas I was told they are fresh fried every morning And heated up great when I got home. I added a little extra Romano cheese, but that's just me as a cheese lover. Also wanted to try the.Sfincuni it was a little different and salty. I thought the cookies were pretty expensive at $17 a pound so I didn't get any but I also got a.zepolli and it was very good. I came across this place through a mention by The Hungry Hound host, food writer & critic, Steve Dolinsky. He had talked about shops around Chicagoland that sell Sicilian pizza slices and I am always on the look out for them. So it was a no-brainer for me to check this place out. I got here between 2:30 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. The first I asked was what Sicilian slices they had and unfortunately to my luck, they were all sold out. That was a big bummer as I had set out to get them and really wanted to have one. The lady who helped said that usually they sell out after lunch time and my take away from that was that they probably don't make a whole lot and when they are gone, they are gone (unless they have the dough to prep and bake fresh ones). Anyway, I was determined to get something from there and not leave empty handed as I liked what I saw in their pastries selection. I ordered one of their Cassata Cake Slice, Sfogliatelle, Pasticciotti and Canneloni. All of these pastries were good and scrumptious. My favorites were the Canneloni and Sfogliatelle the most. They also sell homemade gelato and I tried a couple of flavors which were nice. But I wasn't in the mood for it so skipped it. I am dessert fan and love Italian pastries among others so I left a happy camper despite the bummer of not getting the Sicilian slices. Plus, the service I received was good as well so that also helped leave as a happy camper and return someday soon for more of their delicious goodies. From what I saw here, in terms of their selection variety and price point, it is definitely a must visit place, especially, if you haven't been here before. It's a locally owned mom & pop type bakery shop. And they seem to have a loyal following which is well warranted. I highly recommend checking this shop out. read more

We randomly entered this bakery because we stopped to eat next door. They had a huge assortment of delicious looking desserts. We had no idea what to buy so we tried asking for recommendations...to be honest the (I'm assuming) owner was less than helpful. She seemed annoyed by my questions, I'd say verging on rude actually. But it was near closing on a Saturday afternoon, so I'll give her a pass that maybe she was tired and my perkiness and excitement was irritating her. Either way what we did get was good, and I would go back and try other stuff there if we were ever in the area. read more

After spending hundreds on my daughter's first birthday cake (a huge cake from them by the way) I got home and the cake was CRACKED straight down the middle. I called them and they said "there's nothing we can do about it that happens to cakes sometimes." Never in my life have I had this happen to a cake and I have bought countless cakes from many other bakeries. I will never come here again for a cake no matter how delicious they are. Ordered a few boxes of the traditional home made Italian cookies/biscuits-for work. Have some Italian co-workers and it was confirmed the cookies were authentic. As I recall, the first bite was a like a Time Capsule that took them to their childhood memories. I would definitely recommend this bakery, if you a are looking for Italian sweets. read more

I wish this bakery was next door. The French bread crust is thin and crackly. The pizza slices are delicious. Breads, foccacias, and round pizzas are all pretty good quality, and usually fresh. Arancini are good also.. But it is a 50/50 that the cookies and pastries are not. Immature young women working in the front. Watch videos or take customer service classes to improve your service. I saw what you did to a couple of the customers while I was waiting in line. Mocking and imitating customers is not suitable for business neither is rolling your eyes, laughing, and snickering at them as well. I felt like I was standing behind the counter as a customer while middle schoolers were assisting at the bakery. I saw this place on Chicago's Best talking about pizza and since I'm a lover of good bakery made pizza, I was eager to check it out. Been by the store a few times - decades ago it was owned by a neighborhood family, so I know it's been around for awhile. Stopped in around 7:30AM hoping they'd have the pizza made... and they did! So I ordered two pieces of sausage pizza, one black olive foccacia and two spinach aranccini. Took it all home and enjoyed them over the next two days. All three items get my seal of approval. Pizza - fair amount of sauage with plenty of lightly melted cheese made in a hotel pan so they're served as large squares. Tomato sauce had a deep flavor to it. Just what the doctor ordered as bakery made pizza is concerned. Aranccini - balled tightly and heated up nicely in my microwave. Good amount of ricotta and spinach - very flavorful. Foccacia - saved the best for last here. Great flavor and plenty of black olives. But what put this over the top was the soft crunchiness of the crust - especially the outer part. Could taste a bit of the olive oil too - but the crust was not real oily at all. One of the best foccacia's I've ever had. Loved all the food here - no doubt in my mind, I'll be back. read more

Best Cannoli's. I've ever had. I called to order a Cannoli cake for my daughter's Bday. They were friendly on the phone. I stopped by a day early to pay for it and explained about the hard task of trying to find a Cannoli cake, because I didn't know such a thing existed, so I was going with the large Cannoli filled with smaller ones. The design is magnificent. The owners were so sweet in person. Making sure the colors were right and even gave me a sample to take to my daughter. FYI, there is actually a cake with Cannoli filling in case you want that too. Needless to say the Cannoli's were a hit!! My daughter was super surprised at her "cake" Everyone at the restaurant remarked on the fresh smell alone made them search out the source. The restaurant manager is Italian and he took pics to send to his family. Mentioned how he's from Chicago and never seen a Cannoli cake. (I left some for him and the wait staff (wanted to share the love). The taste is remarkable. The flavors were perfect. I'm writing this review a day after the party, while eating a Cannoli and IT STILL TASTE FRESH!!!! Now due to everyone seeing the pics we posted, I have to go back to Sicilian Bakery and get some Cannoli's to take home when I leave Chicago in a few days. read more

Visiting Chicago for the NPC Jr Nationals Bodybuilding show this weekend and as my post show treat I needed something that said Chicago Sweets- a cannoli. Yelped Sicilian Bakery and cruised by. I mentally to only get one cannoli... I walked out with three PLUS a half dozen other cookies, to share... that was the intention at least, till I finished the show and indulged in the first cannoli. And then the second... and an Almond cookie, and the chocolate cookie.... and before I knew it, I wasn't sharing anything with ANYONE. YEP. All me. And selfish means no regrets!!!
