My wife was craving Espi Nachos (aka Chile verde nachos). We had ordered from other restaurants recently but these are above all others. It hit the spot for her. The Chile verde is flavorful and spicy. I ordered combo #2 ( bc I could not decide between a Chile Relleno and an enchilada.. lol) The combo also comes with a taco, rice and beans, and a side of chips. You will be hungry! Amazing flavors. The rice is flavorful and delicious. I highly recommend making the drive to try them out. We ordered to go and you can ask for the nachos separate so the chile verde and chips come in different containers and won't get soggy. But if you eat here they also have a bar. read more

My husband was working in Dinuba I decided to come and meet him for lunch . We looked in yelp and decided to come to this restaurant in Cuter small town next to Orosi. Well let me tell you the food is good and the service is excellent. Our waiter young man helped up . He was so nice he made us feel very welcome. He brought us a small Chile verde nachos plate it was delicious. I ordered the costillas with Chile sauce and my husband ordered wet Chile verde burrito. Came back to Esperanza's while in town visiting. I was not disappointed. I was sooooo happy to eat at my favorite Mexican restaurant. It had been way way too long. Espe chips are my go to. But everything is excellent. Esperanza's is AUTHENTIC Mexican food, I see some people complaining about the food. For those of you who eat Taco Bell this may be too much for you. It spicy and flavorful. If you can't handle that then I don't recommend it. The chile verde here is pretty good. I don't know if I would go as far as saying is was the best around but it's pretty good. The 2 times I have been here the service has been 2nd to none. I felt the rice, beans and carne asada were all ok. Very attentive servers. Went on Saturday for lunch. Good crowd not too busy. Must order the Espi Chips. Their chili verde is to die for! The flavor is spicy but tame. It had a good balance. Can eat that by itself but we ordered a full size as an appetizer and boy was that something! Almost didn't have room for anything else. During the weekends like most Mexican restaurants, they have menudo. I ordered their menudo and it was amazing! No pata, they didn't ask either. Took over an hour to get our food, when we brought that up to manager he didn't do anything, No apology or anything. Then I get my food and it's terrible. I couldn't eat the enchilada because the chicken inside was so dry. The manager did take that off the bill which was the right thing to do. Beans & rice were not good either. We take the 20 minute drive just to have the Espe Chips, no other place comes close. If you come here you have to try the Espe chips. I stopped here after a very long Friday. It was late & near closing time (8:30pm). Still, they welcomed us in & provided solid service. My friend wanted a cup of coffee so they made a pot of coffee for her. We ordered a large burrito, a 2 taco plate, a daiquiri, & coffee. The free chips tasted like a lightly-salted standard bag of grocery store tortilla chips. The portions of food were ample but not memorable. To me, it tasted like an average American Mexican food meal-nothing particularly jumped out about the flavors. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either. Slightly disappointing was the strawberry daiquiri which had all the sugar syrup settle at the bottom & which was noticeably weak on the alcohol portion-it was more syrup than strawberry or daiquiri. In the past, I've had better tastier meals here so it's possible that it was just because it was close to closing time. Still I would not make it a priority to return here. read more
