    Burrito

Highlights: 1. Chicken burrito is "best ever" 2. Staff is very friendly and provide great service 3. Super clean restaurant My family went here last night after getting back from Kings Canyon. My immediate reaction walking in was that the restaurant is super clean and the staff were very kind and attentive. Our server brought chips and salsa to the table for us right away. They have a nice selection of Jarritos drinks and great horchata which comes in a large portion. The food was AMAZING! I ordered a chicken burrito and my dad ordered their quesa birria. We split the two and both were great! My dad said it was the best burrito he's ever had. I loved it too. It was standard in ingredients but excellent in taste. The quesa birria was also great. It was crispy and had a great portion of tender meat inside. My mom ordered enchiladas which she liked! She noted they came with potatoes on top and the red sauce you think of with enchiladas was cooked into the tortilla. Though, they have red sauce as an addition on the menu for $1.99, so I'm sure they would be happy to add it if that's what you are looking for. The food was reasonably fast, very hot, and delicious. They bring out three sauces: a green creamy sauce, a deep red sauce, and a bright red sauce. The first two mentioned are spicy and I loved the green sauce! I didn't try the deep red sauce but my dad says he didn't think it was too hot. The neighborhood the restaurant is in is good. It is near a nice residential neighborhood and across from a liquor store and other restaurant. There were very nice cars parked throughout the area and we did not encounter any issues at all! It is populated as the restaurant seems to get many takeout and Doordash orders. I think you can consider yourself reasonably safe here! This place gets my recommendation! We are headed home today but if we weren't, we would be coming back to El San Marcos tonight!

The most delicious birria ramen can be found here! The birria tacos are wonderful as well. I had the ramen delivered on a cold, rainy day and it really hit the spot! Generous serving comes piping hot with the essentials: cilantro, lemon, crackers and hot sauce (which I don't use so I can't say how it tastes). So good, like it's made by your mama with love!

The food is incredible! Very authentic, three different salsas to try. The green one is super spicy, They have chunky pico too. Portions are generous. Everything we had was spiced to perfection. Family owned place, son, mom and pop all took care of us. Loved it!

I came in, liked the decor and ambience. I had the el San Marcos enchiladas and was really happy with them! My family is from Michoacán, and it's hard to find enchiladas made this way, so whenever I can find them I really appreciate them. I'm not local, but if I was, this would be a jewel for me!

Recently discovered this restaurant. Great welcoming customer service, restaurant looked clean. Ordered coffee upon arrival, came quick however coffee was cold tried the green chicken enchiladas combo, also had horchata. Food was okay. Horchata was about 32 oz. Paid $56 (for my gf and I) plus tip not bad for the quantity of food.

From the outside you might think it's not a good restaurant. Don't judge the book from the cover. Service was excellent, food came quick, and everything was so delicious. The waiter was so attentive and very friendly. My husband was so happy with the service that he left a pretty good tip. It is a small restaurant but they have it well decorated. Its ambience was cozy and welcoming. They have enough room to seat. We order quesabirrias, chicken sincronizadas, pozole, green chicken enchiladas, and ramen birria. Let me tell you, if you want to taste the real Mexican flavor you have to visit them. My husband said that he really love the quesabirrias. That their flavor was the best he had ever had. The sincronizada was a little spicy because it had some pickles jalapeño inside. But still delicious. My daughter said the pozole was excellent. The flavor was on point and the meat was tender and flavorful. My mother in law loved the green enchiladas. She said the sauce was very tasty and spicy, But still manageable. My ramen soups was the bomb. I added some lemon and chile and it was so, so delicious. We were very satisfied. My ramen soup was big portion that I had some for lunch tomorrow. For drinks, we got Jamaica drink, and soft drink. I also got a piece is coffee flan for free. I got a coupon checking in on Yelp. It was so, so good!! Yum!! Highly recommend. We will definitely come back and try something different or the same thing!!

Hi, I have some food restrictions and don't eat meat/animal product. I wanted to ask if the beans are made with oil or animal lard? and if the rice has chicken stock or not? Thank you!

We also got a side of chips and salsa and two mini tacos, one with Al pastor and the other with barbacoa. The Asada tasted bad. The rest of the burrito was fine. The green sauce was great, pico and guac were fine. But the meat had this weird old tasting flavor to it. It even had a rancid smell to it after pulling a few pieces out to see what the problem was. I immediately had to stop eating it, the pieces were also fatty, tough and hard like a pebble. The chips also tasted old and stale, like store bought chips left out for a while. The Al Pastor was the highlight of the meal. The meat tasted charred, it was flavorful and well seasoned. I honestly should've grabbed a burrito with that meat instead. Barbacoa was just ok, nothing to write home about. A little more tough than what we've had from Chipotle. Not really seasoned. Overall, disappointed. Los Arbolitos was the spot to go to for a really good asada burrito. Unfortunately this doesn't seem like the case anymore. Was really hoping to find another local spot for our Mexican food cravings but I don't think it's going to be this one after all.

For 1 burrito and 1 taco with tip, came out to around $33. Don't do delivery from here. The Burrito was not very good. The meat was almost like ground beef in texture but also non existent at the same time. I tasted more beans than rice but even then, it was more of a soupy burrito with a tortilla that you had to rip at and hope each bite wouldn't undo the whole burrito. There was some kind of salsa inside it that wasn't apart of the description. It gave it an off flavor. Al Pastor taco was meh. The corn tortillas tasted homemade, which was nice. But the meat was stringy, kind of fatty and an off color almost a light orange. It tasted better than the asada but still wasn't very good. I do appreciate they followed my request for extra salsa, but these packs look like they come from a frozen dinner you get at the store. Absolutely off putting. The flavor was "ok" but nothing special. Overall, not worth it. $33 and I was left with an upset stomach. I had such high hopes! I haven't been in a long time and was hoping it would have been an amazing experience. I was wrong. I gave 3 stars cause I do appreciate them following the special instructions most other restaurants don't. But that still can't justify the food.

We were sat down with menus, given chips, salsa, and water, and told to place our menus at the edge of the table when ready. The server came by several times while we were still deciding, and when we finally told her we planned to split a burrito, she gave us an odd look and commented that it "might be a reasonable size to share." Shortly after, she returned to inform us that we had been given the wrong menus and that every item was actually $2.99 more than what we had been reviewing--something completely unprofessional and misleading. To make matters worse, when I asked about happy hour, she flat-out said they didn't have one, yet I later found multiple reviews online mentioning happy hour specials. That means she either didn't know or wasn't being honest. Between the dismissive service, the sudden price change, and the lack of transparency, we decided to walk out. This was a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this restaurant.

But in the past several…read moreyears, it's completely gone downhill both in customer service, quality of the food, & its pricing. The portions have gotten noticeably smaller, however the prices continue to rise. What you are served is definitely not worth what Azul's charges you. This place used to be a regular go-to spot for myself when I am in Visalia, which is quite often. My sister & her husband were weekly regulars there & were (allegedly) friends with the owner. The last several times I've been there for a meal with my sister & BIL the owner has come over to say hello, but she has not seemed genuine or at all happy to see my sister & BIL. Instead, her "hellos" & the quick small talk that is expected of an owner greeting their regulars seemed incredibly forced & just completely inorganic. It was like she did not want us there, found it annoying that we were there, & did not appreciate our business at all. That made me feel very uncomfortable. The last time my family was there, it was my sister, mother, & their friend (a Visalia local) that were dining in. My mother picked up the check & paid by debit card & rounded up the just under $70 bill to $90 for the tip. When she looked at her bank statement a few days later, she discovered that the server had charged $100. My mom called my sister, who told her to call the owner & let her know what happened to make it right. They were trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but at the same time knew the chances of an experienced server mistaking a 2-digit total for a 3-digit total is highly unlikely. When my mother called the restaurant to speak to the owner, she kept my mother waiting on hold for the longest time. After the owner finally did come to the phone, she was very rude to my mom: didn't say hello or ask how she was. The owner completely dismissed the occurrence, saying that the server who ran the card was one of her best girls & longest employees & that there was no way that could have happened. The way she spoke to my mother, it was like she was trying to make my mother feel like it was her fault, & was making an issue out of nothing. My mom assured her that she had copies of the receipt with the correct total, to which the owner rudely said something like "okay, so what now? You want the $10 back?" completely dismissively. My mother tried to be polite--as this was a "friend" of my sister's & my sister & BIL were still at that point regulars--so she said the next time they came in to dine, they could discount that tab by $10. Obviously, that never happened. When my BIL found that out, he & my sister both decided they would no longer give their business to such a place. None of us have been back since. I do not recommend eating here. You will get mediocre food at an expensive price tag. Plus you will run the risk of dishonest servers over tipping themselves under the protection of an owner who clearly does not care & puts her customers down. If this was the experience of regular customers, I can only imagine how the non-regulars are treated...

There was no odor this time and it is an older establishment that actually was a house at one time. If you sit in the back area you can still see the crown moldings of the living area. We ordered the Marlin Empanadas- there is 4 to an order ($12). I wish I cut one so that you can see in the picture that it definitely is Marlin. Marlin is red flesh and I've fished in Cabo San Lucas and caught marlin and it's not the best flavored fish as it is dense and very oily. This definitely tasted like I remembered the last time I caught a marlin! Still this was good as I don't see marlin on the menu much so I usually order shrimp empanadas.
