All delicious, albeit a little salty to my taste. La Cocina is a popular catering spot for Rutgers events, so I have been fortunate to try a wide variety of offerings such as pastelon, pernil, and chicken stew -- and you can't really go wrong with any of them. The empanadas are also a must (make sure to ask for hot sauce), and while difficult, try to save room for dessert! Flan and tres leches are soooo good. Lunch time gets really busy, so you can avoid the rush by coming a little later. However, the staff is good about moving everyone along, so you won't be waiting forever. Definitely give La Cocina a try!

First incident I witnessed but I wasn't there for the full incident so I didn't really have a full understanding of what took place, however they refused to serve the woman because she didn't look very pleasant. The second incident they had a new worker and she was responsible for serving me let's start off by saying she wasn't happy to serve my food, I ordered stew chicken and Every single part of the chicken she put on my platter was the part with all bones so I had to ask her to please replace a few of them. Lastly today I had my final straw. I went there to get my usual stew chicken. There was another family ahead of me so I waited to be served next. Afterwards a couple came in after me while I was standing there waiting to be served. There is this old man, not sure if he is the owner but he has always been very unpleasant to people who weren't Hispanics. He came and served the couple that came in after me while I was still standing there without asking who was next. The gentleman looked and he continued anyway while I stood there and around in disbelieve as if I was invisible. They served that couple yes that came in after me. I was so furious at the discrimination. So I asked the lady working there if they do not serve non Hispanics and if there was anyone there that I could speak to that spoke proper English and they said no. No apology nothing whatsoever. I learn of and order from the Eterna Primavera restaurant by way of Mercadito Chapin, a mini market directly supporting the Eterna Primavera restaurant, which is quite a fine transformation from the chicken shack corner store. The sandwich offers a really tasty melange of avocado, cabbage, fish, parts of cow, mustard, and likely other ingredients, in a large roll. All the ingredients mesh well together. The mustard and different meats seem easier to detect than the other ingredients except for the deliciously sweet cabbage boosting the savoriness of the sandwich and lessening the spiky-sharpness of the mustard. The roll doesn't become soggy or tough after delivery (which is from an employee from the mini market). The establishment accepts different forms of payment.

Including language - if you don't know Spanish this will be difficult. But I made it work. Today was a special soup, which I ordered with assurance it includes meat. Oh, it did. Giant chunks of potato, carrot, whole green beans, and entire chicken leg/thigh were included in at least a court of delicious thick, hearty broth. Amazing seasoning. Perfect side amount of hot sauce that is hotter than you'd think - they make 'em strong south of the border. The rice was not just for the soup. It stood alone and I devoured it, with bits of veggies and just such great seasoning throughout. Incredible. AND there were fresh corn arepas in there to soak up more soup and just... Yeah. It's like that. I also got a fresh baked bread as an appetizer. Nothing bad here. Plenty of seating if you want to eat in (I couldn't), tucked in perfectly to the narrow building. Friendly and patient people up front to deal with people like me. 99% of their clientele may be local Spanish speakers, but I want to motivate my fellow Yelpers to help spread the word about this hidden gem.
