I have never seen or tried a maruesquite before and wanted to try it after seeing it online. I was in the area recently and decided to stop by. When I got there, the place looked very vibrant with bright colors and signs, advertising their specialties. Though I am Mexican, I'm not a big fan of spicy things and asked if I could get the maruesquite without the Valentina hot sauce, as I wanted to just enjoy it like a plain esquite, with just butter, mayo, cheese and a dash of chili powder. As a Yelp Elite, my 5 stars are based on food AND service. After I ordered the maruesquite without the chile, I could hear the girl who took my order, jokingly telling the staff my request. I'm guessing one of them didn't believe her so he actually walked over to me and asked "no pica?" And I said "yes, no chile please". After that I heard group laughter. This has happened to me at other places too. I don't speak fluent Spanish, but I've been around it enough to know when I'm being made fun of. The maruesquite? Absolutely fabulous. Perfect flavor experience. A 5 star for sure, but the way I was mocked for my preference of low heat? That knocked this review down to a 2. Absolutely unacceptable. I would ask that management speak to its staff about proper treatment of all Spanish-speaking and non Spanish-speaking customers in the future. Would like to come back and try other things that looked good, but not till this issue is resolved. read more

Run into this location by IG advertisement. Looked so good, I decided to go grab dessert. Unfortunately, I think I went on a bad day, not sure. Had high expectations. Ordered their fresas con crema and their garafa nieve. The lime one was very bitter, like they included the lemon peels when making it. The strawberries were sour, so I didn't enjoy it. Was in the neighborhood after a failed food venture & was literally starving . Stopped by here really quick because I thought I need something in me before I drive back home . Got myself a Chocomilk licuado, super cheap , super quick service ! Glad I was able to find them cause gosh driving back to Long Beach & still having to wait for food would have been a bummer! Smoothie was delicious , everything was so clean in here . THEY DO NOT HAVE TRANSPARENT PRICING! it's 2 times now that I go to this place and I'm told one price and charged another. the first time "the prices hadn't been updated and that was a question for the owner" this time I was told 13.50 there's no sign that says they charge to use card so why after I paid with card it was 15.42. the lady Rosie said it was because I paid with card I was charged a card fee and taxes. for 2 bags of pinwheels and one raspado you're better off waiting for the elotero to to pass and pay him those $15 this place could be great but taking advantage your own people I mean you're located in paramount be fr know your audience. this is wrong and illegal. read more

at first when we would go it was amazing! Never had anything wrong, the workers were so kind and helpful. The ambiance is clean and the food was great. Today is probably the one time we HATED IT & service wasn't good. Today is probably the tenth time we've gone and like I said we always have a great experience. I walked in a decided to have it to go, so I told the young worker 3x that it is to go! Last time I had asked one worker if she can please put the chips on the side & she said no need to bring it up, that it's an automatic when it's to go. So when I saw the 2 workers today putting them together and as if it's for there. I asked hey it's to go can they please be on the side, the lady in the back jumps in , in a HOSTILE tone. "You need to let us know" and I explained I did and what the other lady told me, she said "well the lady isn't here, we are and next time you should let us know." Terrible service let alone the other conversations going on, which isn't relevant to my situation but it just made the ambiance weird, and feel unfriendly. It could have been as simple as oh okay got it, next time just let us know, sometimes we forget. Not in an antagonizing tone which I'm sure she did because I look 18. I genuinely felt like asking for my money back. Now trying the food, the chips are soggy because she didn't change it on one, and they skimped it out. Tastes different. I come for the jugo verde but honestly I can't justify the price because most of the drink is foam instead of juice. It doesn't come in a smaller size than 24oz and I wish it did. Service was friendly and the inside has a couple chairs and tables. read more

The food is so good. I love the strawberry smoothie as well as the elotes in the cup with takis on top. They are also so friendly and just have the best service. It takes a little while to make but it is comforting to know that everything is made to order and is fresh. read more

Used to be my favorite spot but not as good as they used to be. Service extremely slow and the guy can sometimes be rude. I missed my bus and decided to go get a smoothie until the next one arrived. The line was pretty short only one couple ahead of me but the wait took about 30 min because every time someone came in their orders were fulfilled. How are you completing other orders while you have customers waiting on there's? Even if it is esquite or ice cream, is it not first come first served? Then not to mention my smoothie was made with some high fructose artificially flavored goop and ice. It tasted like an icee. I was coming here often because I love the outward cleanliness and good quality products. Unfortunately the dark skin old lady that works here gets upset if you use the restroom. Also witness her and another lady talking smack about a customer who steeped into the restroom because she asked that they change their gloves after handling the money. Which is UNDERSTANDABLE!!!! Cochinas. Once the lady was out the restroom they acted so nice towards her the hypocrites. A little over priced too in my opinion for a damn elote. To start the antojitos (desserts or snacks for not Spanish speakers) are pretty delicious, you can always call ahead and make your order for a pick up if you are in a rush. To not forgery to mention the amount they give for the prices they have it's pretty good. The staff it's pretty friendly and they always help you the best way they can with a nice and sincere smile on their face. The staff is super friendly. They're elotes are delicious! I have been coming here for a while now, but the service today was extra good that I was like dude this deserves a review. My order was a big one since I was taking some elotes, ice cream, and some other antojitos for my family and my relatives that came to visit from Mexico. Would give it 5 stars because the Hot Cheetos Esquite is delicious! The only thing stopping it from a star is that there is no phone number, schedule, or debit/credit card services.
