Nice local place in Fabens. Mostly Mexa food. The decor inside is unique, too. Don't expect organic health-conscious ingredients. I'd come back to try tacos and other items.

We got everything to go and it was outstandingly delicious. Here's what we tried: -Pastel en hoja that's filled with sauteed eggplant. it's masa is made with plantains and/ or other tubers, then cooked in plantain/ green banana leaf. It was delicious. -Mofongo. We got Mofongo solo without meat- A dish made from fried and mashed green plantains and garlic sauce. It's so far the best mofongo I have ever had. The pieces of fried green plantains were super freshly fried and the mofongo had strong garlic flavors. Vegetable empanada: To our surprise the vegetables were loose inside and were pickled/ tart which was delicious. The empanada dough was so fresh and so delicious and we both felt we never had such a seriously good and fresh empanada. This place made a super strong start to a food-er trip! Very vegan and vegetarian friendly. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! You all know I love to support local -- but I'll also be honest when something feels off. This…read moremight've been one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in El Paso. Hungry and in a hurry: I had just picked up my car from Casa Nissan and wanted something quick before heading out of town. I spotted this Venezuelan place nearby and thought I'd give it a try. The restaurant was completely empty when I walked in. Music was blasting so loud that it was hard to talk. Uncomfortable start: A woman came out from the kitchen who barely spoke English. She looked at me like she didn't really want to be there -- or want me there. It was awkward from the start. Confusing menu: She handed me a single-page menu and I ordered Tequeños (5 for $10) and one Tequeyoyo. She held up three fingers so I thought, okay -- three must come in an order like the Tequeños. Another customer came in after me -- she spoke Spanish -- and suddenly she was handed a multi-page menu with more items and prices I'd never seen. That's when I realized I hadn't been given the full menu. Food quality: When my food arrived, it was a lot -- way more than expected -- and honestly it tasted like something frozen and reheated . Billing mess: When I went to pay, she charged me for three separate Tequeyoyos instead of one. I showed her the price on my menu ($4 each), but she insisted I owed for three. Then another woman came out and showed me that "other" menu again with different prices. The Spanish-speaking customer got full service and a friendly tone -- I got attitude and confusion. I can't lie... it didn't feel fair. How it ended: They finally agreed to honor the original price, but I still paid the difference as a tip because I felt bad about the misunderstanding -- even though it wasn't my fault. They didn't thank me or even acknowledge it. Final thoughts: The whole experience left me feeling gaslighted and discriminated against for not speaking Spanish. I walked out embarrassed, frustrated, and hungry for something better. I love supporting local restaurants -- but respect and clear communication matter just as much as flavor. Hopefully they improve, because no one should feel unwelcome when all they wanted was a quick bite.

I went by myself as I had some time, but next time I'll bring a Spanish speaker since Google translate kinda sucks. I don't know much about Venezuelan food but I saw a lot of migrants there so it seemed legit, it was all single males though so a bit unnerving, but hey if you're single, ladies, they're here. Anyhow, back to the food, the breakfast plate was alright, it wasn't anything to write home about, as it came with some white cheese, an arepa, black beans, overcooked eggs and mayo. It reminded me of the meals I had in Costa Rica, hearty, filling, and no spices whatsoever. I couldn't finish it. It was also expensive at $14. The coffee it came with was so delicious though, it almost made up for the whole plate. Similar to the Costa Rican Chorreador style brew, Guayoyo is a coffee sock brewing method. Not sure if they did that here, but the result is a deeply sweet flavor with notably balanced acidity and fruity undertones. It tasted like they added condensed milk and the foam on top was so decadent. I'll go back just for the coffee. Fortunately they have something else that's ridiculously good. Tequeños, or Venezuelan cheese sticks, makes mozzarella sticks seem like children's food. It's basically fried cheese with pastry dough, but the queso Blanco is perfectly salty, the pastry oh so light and buttery and flaky. It's $9 for 6 and worth it. Don't even get me started on the dipping sauce, Guasacaca or avocado salsa, it's a brighter, tangier version of guacamole. This one tasted amazing paired with the Tequeños. I can't wait to explore the rest of the menu, it's definitely exciting to see different cuisines offered in El Paso! So it's nice to know some things never change, in this case that's a good thing! Walking in it was like the place was left the same as I'd remembered. It was like I entered an awesome time capsule for a moment. Of course being a creature of habit you know I had to get the same old same old haha. That being the Caldo de Rez n the Mexican Combination plate #1. The combination plate has 3 cheese enchiladas, 2 delicious savory tacos, and of course the rice and beans to seal the deal. Boy was I glad when I took the first few bites the food was just as I'd remembered. I felt nostalgic for a moment as I took every savory bite. Being from Albuquerque it's so hard to find a decent Mexican restaurant down there. I have to explain to my New Mexican friends there's a huge difference between "New Mexican" and border town "Mexican" food. That being said I don't get enough real Mexican food and it's a nice treat to enjoy when I get it. Thanks El Rincon for not letting the pandemic change the food taste! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in El Paso!

Parking was hard and when I went to the back, I went to the wrong side and got into the bbq area somehow, the waitress there told me that I had to go around, since it was a dead end. I'm telling you this because knowing that it was my 1st time there, when I saw her inside later, not only did she ignore me but all the waitresses and bartenders ignored me for at least 15 mins. The bartender was busy when I came inside and she acknowledged that I was there and then completely ignored me for the rest of the night. It seems like Cheers where if you're a regular or a friend, you'll be treated well, otherwise you'll be ignored. After 15-20 mins of waiting for someone to give me a menu, acknowledge me, anything I stood up at the table to leave, then someone said oh did you need a drink or menu? I said, " yes I need a menu", and she gave me one and ran down the list of non alcoholic drinks. After waiting for another 10 mins of waiting for her to stop flirting with the other customers, she never came back and just started drinking again with them, the same waitress that was outside then came up and asked me if I was served yet. I said no and she then immediately said she was out of chicken and birria tacos. It's not the 1st time I've heard of them running out of food, but was disappointing, nonetheless. I quickly ordered the appetizer Carnes al Pincho which is like a bbq pork meat skewer and a Virgin Pina Colada in case they forgot about me again. I saw another couple waiting and leaving quickly since they had the same "service". It was loud inside and outside (think club level) but the music was good. I got a call from a friend and stepped outside to get it and by the time I got back the food was ready but the drink wasn't. It looked and smelled good and the portion was big for $6. I asked for utensils and they gave me some plastic ones. The 1st 2 pieces were chewy and fatty the last 2 pieces were inedible, just gristly and the plastic knife couldn't cut through it was that tough. I couldn't finish it and threw the rest away. The garlic bread was good though! While I was eating the 1st 2 pieces the waitress came back with the Pina Colada. The 1st few sips were delicious, creamy with a pineapple finish. That stopped when I hit the ice chips. It wasn't smoothly blended but chunky and that was most of the drink. I kept having to wait for it to melt in order to not clog up the straw, the ice chunks were too thick. Very frustrating. At the end she got my check and the total for one appetizer and one NON ALCOHOLIC drink was $14! The drink alone was $8 and none of the drinks had any pricing or menu. I went to this place because some friends recommended them and I guess if you're friends from what I saw you'll be treated well, but if you're a new client, be prepared to wait. For the entire experience, it took over an hour for one drink and one appetizer and it wasn't busy at all. This area has so many amazing bars and options, I hope they start treating it like a business and not just a personal hangout. I'm not sure I'll come back since it was a really reall disappointing experience. fowl mouths eptx (915) 519-0083 800 N Piedras St, El Paso, TX 79903 https://maps.app.goo.gl/TywZG3XnD1A4kspi9

He has beaten stage four cancer three separate times. Needless to say, his career military background and having just retired in October 2025 served him well. He has faced every diagnosis head-on like the true American soldier he is. During one of our quiet conversations, he shared something that clearly weighed on him. He was heartbroken that he never got the chance to take his wife out for their 55th wedding anniversary in December because he was in the hospital. The next day, I asked him a simple question. If you could pick one restaurant within a 100-mile radius, just one, where would you want to go once you had your strength back? Without hesitation, he said La Posta. Over the next few weeks, a lot changed. He was released from the hospital. He slowly began to regain his strength. First the cane went away, then short walks turned into longer ones, and eventually he was even driving himself from LC to EPT for doctor's appointments. When I finally asked if he felt strong enough to go to that meal we had talked about, he lit up. He started telling me stories. How his father used to bring him to La Posta. How it had remained top notch throughout the years. He went into detail about every menu item he loved. But the one thing he really wanted me to understand was the ambiance. You will get it when you are there, he told me. I called to see if they took reservations. We were not even sure they did. A young woman named Priscilla answered the phone. I explained the situation. My uncle was finally strong enough to return to his favorite restaurant, one that held a lifetime of memories, and he had missed celebrating his 55th wedding anniversary. I told her I wanted to surprise them and make the night unforgettable. I even mentioned I was planning to have flowers delivered. Priscilla did not hesitate. She immediately connected me with her manager, Teresa. I asked if we could have a larger table than one meant for three people because my uncle wanted to order everything. Honestly, I just wanted him to eat, to enjoy himself, to feel normal again. Teresa agreed without question. Then something unexpected happened. Teresa explained that Priscilla was a single mom of two who had recently started a floral business on the side and truly wanted to help make this night special. She asked if it would be okay to involve her. Of course, I said yes. I was transferred back to Priscilla and told her to go big. No expense spared. I gave her full creative freedom and an unlimited budget. Unbeknownst to me, Priscilla partnered with a friend who specialized in balloon arrangements. What she created was nothing short of breathtaking. Place cards. Multiple floral centerpieces. An ornate floral display. A large professional sign welcoming my aunt and uncle to the restaurant. She handled everything with grace, professionalism, and kindness, even as our party grew from three people to thirteen. And then the story took a turn. The day before the dinner, my uncle was rushed into emergency surgery. Suddenly, everything was uncertain. Half the family canceled to stay at the hospital. We kept Priscilla updated as events unfolded. Not once did she complain. Not once did she lose her composure. She adapted to every change with pure professionalism and empathy. She even adjusted the floral arrangements when we decided to bring flowers and food to the hospital instead. That is when I learned that the owners of La Posta had been informed of the situation. The male manager on duty, and I regret not remembering his name, passed along a message from them expressing their deepest condolences and gratitude. He also shared that they wished they could have been there to meet my uncle. There really are still good people in this world. After her shift ended at 4 p.m., Priscilla went to pick up her kids and then came back to the restaurant just to meet me. She walked me through everything she had created and explained the work behind it. When I asked how much I owed her, she paused and said she wanted to bless my family and could not accept payment. I was overwhelmed. Her work would have easily cost four to five hundred dollars. I insisted on tipping her at the very least, and she reluctantly agreed. The food that night was incredible. We had a wonderful server, and the food was amazing. We ordered extra meals to go so my cousins could bring my uncle his favorite dishes back to the hospital. It was a small way to lift his spirits during one of the darkest moments our family has faced. My uncle asked me to thank you for the food. And I want to thank everyone at La Posta for the hospitality, the compassion, and the humanity. When my uncle regains his strength and comes home again, we will return with his wife so he can finally give her the 55th wedding anniversary dinner they both deserve.
