    Thank you guys

Everything is very good. Fresh cooked food and very friendly personal. I will come back again.

A great find tucked in a tiny place behind a truck stop between a truck wash and a truck garage.I You may find yourself driving the only vehicle on the street without a commercial license required to operate it. The restaurant is a little house that's been converted (I know this because the bathroom had an unused shower and tub). The menu is simple. I had been looking for a good chili relleno, but didn't see that on the menu at first. The owner asked whether I liked chicken and steak and I took that as a recommendation for the eponymous plate. That was a good move. The place is a little worn around the edges, almost a hole-in-the-wall, but it is clean and everything is fresh and tastes delicious. (Just don't expect Jennifer Anniston to greet you in an Applebee's-style uniform bedecked with flair). The green salsa is hardy with a bit of a kick. The drink cooler is the standard Coca-Cola glass door box, but but at the top there are some locally bottled soft drinks such as pineapple soda. As I was eating I finally noticed the chili relleno on the menu, and ordered one. It was exactly right: not too much batter, not too much cheese, and perfectly cooked. I look forward to driving back through there, as out of the way as El Paso is for a Louisianan, especially to enjoy the chili relleno.

Chilaquiles perfectly prepared and Red Enchiladas. Delicious.

This is our new favorite Mexican food restaurant. The owner is so friendly. We have already gone back five times. It is a place that feels familiar and friendly. It is a restaurant that makes you feel as if you are back at your Tia's or Wela's cooking with the family around. It is never crowded but with a steady flow of customers telling one another hello. The food is delicious and home made. You can see into the kitchen as you look around at the decorations on the wall waiting for the food or can get up to grab yourself a soda. This place has a wonderful feeling with wonderful food cooked with love. We would frequent L&J's but this is where we now prefer.

This place is a GEM! I have to admit, getting here was interesting to say the least! It's quite hard to spot this little shack when it's tuck right next to a semi truck car wash! It the least likely location for a restaurant BUT I super love it! We were greeted by a very cheerful gentleman. The inside is quite small with only 4 tables - just one table seats 4. I ordered menudo (it wasn't on the menu but it sure was available if you ask for it). My hubby got the Mexican steak plate. One kiddo got 2 orders of chicken quesadillas and the littler one got 2 orders of the egg, cheese, and retried beans burrito. They actually only ordered one each but then they were still hungry so we ended up asking for another serving for them. The kind cook (he's probably the owner) gladly cooked them up for the boys. The food is hands down authentic good Mexican cooking. I'm glad we're not the picky types when it comes to ambiance. As we were leaving, I noticed that the restaurant sign was flipped to "closed". We're the last guests in there and I'm glad they still took us in. The total bill was less than $40 for all 4 of us so that was another affordable surprise. As we were leaving, the kind gentleman walked us out the door and bid us goodbye and said he hopes to see us again. I told him we're just passing by on our way to Phoenix. We just saw this on Yelp and decided to check them out. He then said that whenever we come back to El Paso, that we have a home there with him. Overall: great flavors, fantastic service, awesome hospitality!

Where do I start!!! This place is soooo delicious!! We travel a lot and were always looking for good old fashioned food. Well i can honestly say we found it. The chef greeted me with such a pleasant attitude and made my special order food to go immediately. Food was well seasoned. The portions were perfect and my meals were priced just right. I will definitely be stopping by everything i pass through here

Chile verde and green enchiladas both with rice and beans.

Great service, clean place, and amazing food! 10/10 I had seen this place here on Yelp and decided to give it a try and was a great choice. Authentic Mexican Food

Just perfect, even better than it looks, believe it

This is IT, Ay Dios. This is those little spots you never forget. Not the food, not the people or the Authentic Charm, from Abuelos. All working hard to maintain what they have created. You'll be back. No words can bundle it up. I live for these places that should be picked up and placed in a museum. Sincero Gracias Señor y Señora.

So good! We stopped here for breakfast and they only had to go because of the quarantine but we were not disappointed. We both ordered the chorizo and egg burrito and we added potatoes. It really tasted like a burrito I'd make at home (that's a good thing) lol The roasted jalapeño salsa was fantastic! All the guys working were polite and really cared Loved it!

Enchiladas and order of guacamole. Que rico!

It's a little hard to find tucked back in a little strip center. The inside is interesting decor with different theme walls. What was nice is that the staff was very friendly. It was close to closing time so we ordered fast and got our chips and salsa quickly. Loved the homemade chips and that they were still warm. Salsa was ok. I liked my fajitas but I wasn't as blown away with the taste as my co-worker. I had a few pieces of meat that had grizzle when I bit into them. It wasn't as seasoned as I was hoping too. The beans and rice were ok but didn't appear scratch made.

Beans and rice on the side are optional / modest extra charge - they are usually very good and worth adding if you're hungry enough. My favorite sauce is the Chipotle. It's got heat as it's also creamy...I would call it medium (I like spicy food.) If you're getting them to go, you might want the sauce and toppings on the side. They usually ask about that, but occasionally they might forget. Service is usually friendly and efficient even when they are busy. Your food is made to order, so it's fast but not instantaneous. Allow 5-10 minutes for pickup most of the time. The dining room is medium-sized. I would say it's a place to eat and go, not stay and linger.

While the food was never the primary…read morereason I returned, the excellent margaritas and outstanding service kept me coming back for nearly two decades. Unfortunately, that loyalty came to an end after a recent experience that was both disappointing and unacceptable. My family and I chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Every guest paid separately, and there were no issues during the evening itself. However, as the event concluded, multiple attendees, including family members and in-laws, overheard servers making derogatory comments about our party. Among the remarks were that we were "ungrateful," "cheap," and "broke," along with other inappropriate comments that no customer should ever have to hear. I brought the matter to the attention of ownership, hoping for a meaningful resolution. While I was told the employees had been reprimanded, the proposed remedy was a $25 gift card. After nearly 18 years of patronage, the response felt dismissive and only added insult to injury. What disappoints me most is not simply the behavior of the staff, but the lack of accountability and concern shown afterward. This was a place I once considered a reliable and welcoming destination for family gatherings and celebrations. Sadly, that trust has been lost. As a result, I will no longer be returning or recommending this establishment to friends, family, or colleagues. Respect for customers should be a fundamental part of any hospitality business, and in this case, that standard was not met.

The food arrived within about 10 minutes for our group of six, which was impressive. The complimentary fried tortillas were very good, and the salsa was enjoyable as well. I ordered al pastor tacos. I actually poured some of the bean soup into a bowl so we could serve ourselves to avoid some spilling. The baked potatoes were generously bathed in butter. They did not provide any other toppings for the potatoes. Personally I think some sour cream, or Mexican crema de la Mesa, some chives, some other toppings would have been nice. The queso fundido was good but also a disappointment. It was missing the chorizo that I had paid extra for. The meat was very good. Well done but not dry or hard to chew. I was pleased to see that the chicken was not cooked into dryness. We did come across a couple of meat grisel or what in Spanish is called "nervio". This place has a small sign that states that if you pay with a credit card a 3% service charge will be added to your bill. I am pretty good with math and I pointed out to the cashier that they actually charge 4%. He did make a correction on my bill. Be ware of your bill. Otherwise they do give you plenty of food. It reminds me of a Mexican parrillada/ grilled cook out. The food here was very good, good tasting, and in spite of the small glitches worth it. We will be returning again.

Looking back, El Cometa is what started my taco obsession. Their tacos al pastor con queso are so good. The marinated pork is perfectly seasoned, a little greasy in the best way, and topped with melted cheese. One thing I love is their salsa bar. I always grab the red salsa, green salsa, and guacamole. I pile all three on my tacos, and every bite is amazing. Their tacos remind me of my favorite tacos at the resort my family visited every summer in Cancún.
