It tasted like the "marinade" was ketchup mixed with a little Tabasco. Other plates were very skimpy on food. Burritos and enchiladas were small and almost almost laid flat on the plates. I guess I could deal with it better if the cost was about ¼ of the price we paid. No drinks for 4 totaled, with tip, around $80.00!! Will never go to this place again! I typically don't do reviews but this experience was completely "over the top" bad in all areas. We all left feeling cheated, and hungry! Don't waste your money here!

After the 3rd "retry" we've had enough. Every time we order takeout here, we are given anything but what we ordered. Over paying for food is one thing. And generously tipping on those high prices is another. From not putting chili on the side, on one burrito, but on another. Beef chimichangas are chicken chimichangas. Soggy "crispy relleno" because you also forgot to put chili on the side. 2 corn tortillas and 2 flour tortillas, for a Togo fajitas for 2. In which we had an astonishing amount of peppers and onions, and meat for probably one fajita order. Also asked for it to be spicy, which they specifically went out of their way to ask if I wanted it that way. Didn't happen. By the time we get home and start eating, not one person of the 4 we were feeding, had anything of the sort that we ordered. $80 + $15 tip. All I have to say, it's not even worth half that. I have eaten Mexican food from Mexico, California, Texas and Illinois. Wherever I go I start with the Relleno. La Estrellita makes the best Rellenos of all the Mexican restaurants that I have visited? I also like their fajitas, green chile and enchiladas, and did I mention the Rellenos? I only get to La Estrellita about once a year, and I can't wait until I get there again. The owner, Gina, is so friendly, she and her staff only enhance the eating experience. I recently found myself passing thru Brighton n seen this cantina looking place off the. Hiway. Looking at my temp gauge it was 93 n a beer was in my sight. I pulled over n sat on the patio. Jorge came and took my order. He was the most polite and pleasant waiter I have come across in a long time. And I eat out alot to discover new restaurants. They have Fideo which most Mexican restaurants don't offer and it's amazing! I would suggest this place to anyone looking for the best Mexican food in the area!
