Loved this place so much and I'm so happy we stopped by. The drinks were delicious and perfectly made. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place is clean and welcoming and we will definitely be back when visiting San Juan. Also, the price of the drinks were very affordable considering they're actual cocktails. Loved it here!
We stopped in here for drinks and to hang out and people watch. Ambiance is chill, bartenders were attentive and drinks are good HOWEVER I paid with a 100$ bill and for some reason when I got the change back something made me count my money and sure enough I did NOT receive the correct change back. What a hidden gem!!! We passed right by it the first time and didn't even notice this was here. Super cute and they have an inside and outside bar too. The drinks were crafted beautifully and the bartenders were super friendly and gave us great local suggestions as well. Highly recommend stopping by for a few drinks here.
THE Famous La Factoria club of where Despacito, Heart Break, and other songs were filmed here. When in Puerto Rico, this is a must. AMBIANCE: Parking: Welcome to Old San Juan, it get get pretty busy - best to carpool or do public transportation. Seating: Indoor seating or private cabana set ups for groups. Room for a total of 100 people. Feels: Welcome to Old San Juan, a mix of touristy and culture. The spot itself is popular for locals and tourists. As for the space itself, what's unique about this spot is this place isn't just one bar. It's actually a series of connected rooms (about 6-7 different spaces), each with its own vibe - speak easy, dance, casual, house, live music and more! I'm surprised each room can contain it's sounds while maintaining its own energy. It feels like a speakeasy maze meets nightlife experience. Dim lighting, vintage touches, and just enough chaos in a good way. DRINKS/EXPERIENCE It was such a fun night, not sure what I ordered but there is an abundance of flavors as every room has different selections. But popular drinks if you're looking for guidance - lavendar mule, espresso martini, a classic mojito. They got the classic to your well-crafted cocktails. Some spots provide food while others is sip and chill or sip and dance. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Fast-paced but solid. Staff keeps up with the crowd and still manages to be engaging. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars! Good choices, reasonable prices, and a vibe like no other. As a gemini that can be quite indecisive, I enjoyed this spot - especially with its multiple options. Fantastic vibes and craft cocktails! My friends and I stopped by La Factoria after hearing that they filmed the Despacito music video! We came during the day and there's not many seats, but we were luckily able to grab a table. It was hard to get a bartenders attention at first and no one really came over to ask for our orders. I got the Pornstar Martini, which was super strong and refreshing! Highly recommend if you're a Passionfruit fan!
Top notch vibes paired with fantastic drinks The playlist here is perfect if you just want to sit down, enjoy a drink, and have a conversation with friends Once again, the mixologists/bartenders were very kind to a solo traveller, going out of their way to make me feel involved in everything going on. The water glass was always (almost immediately) quietly topped up whenever it was empty and they even offered to make me a customised cocktail that was to my taste / what I wanted at that moment Very well deserving of their accolades!
This bar serves great specialty cocktails and the food was really good too. which is surprising for a bar/club. they have many different rooms with different music selections so there is something for everyone to enjoy. it was pretty packed on A friday night so wear comfy shoes and be ready to dance. my favorite spot was upstairs where i was able to look out the windows and see down the whole strip
Love this place. 5 different rooms with different themes. We had a short rib grilled cheese sandwich and it was sooooo good. The au jus was wonderful. The drinks were great and the house music room was a fun place to dance off those calories
Still 5 stars... We came here Saturday night for drinks after dinner. There's a line outside, bouncer checking IDs, and people wanting to go in, but it moved fast. The place was packed but people move around, between the bar, the second room, and outside. Even with the busy bar, we did not wait long for someone to get our drink order. There's sofas, small tables, and window seats, plus enough space to stand. We waited a bit and were lucky to get the window seats. This is great for people watching plus to enjoy the island breeze. Location is great too, right on the street of many other bars making it easy to hop around and be a part of the very lively crowd that's always happy to be there, both locals and tourists. La Factoría is definitely a must when visiting Old San Juan
Fantastic cocktails, knowledgable and talented bartenders, live music, dancing and perfect location all wrapped in one spot. Its no wonder La Factoria is so known in Puerto Rico. This is a must stop for locals and tourists when wandering through Old San Juan. Day time or night! Especially Sunday night if you love to dance salsa or hear the beauty of salsa music live. Oh and yes you should try the Lavender Mule !
Classic and popular bar in viejo (old) San Juan. Def recommend to go in for a drink. They often have live band or DJ playing, which is perfect for dancing. The space is bigger than some other bars in the same area but does get packed because of its popularity.
Ok, this unassuming (but apparently well-known) bar makes one of the BEST rum old fashioneds I've ever had. La Factoria seems like a place you would find in Portland; it's moderately hipster with an eclectic menu. I got there right around sunset and the vibes were mellow, with the golden hour light creating the perfect ambiance. Service was fast at the bar, and my drink was so, so good. Prices are also very reasonable, especially for Viejo San Juan. Bathrooms are maybe a bit dirty, but otherwise, this place is perfect.

Visited La Factoria on a cruise stop over two weeks ago and it was definitely worth the walk from the port. It offers a quaint and inviting atmosphere, and it's evident that its expert bartenders put their hearts into creating drinks which are uniquely phenomenal. It's a must visit! read more
bartenders are friendly and warm. There are a few rooms within the establishment. Some had a whiff of wet dog/mildew. Was hoping that the menu had more rum cocktails. Had the bartender whip up a drink based on my likes being rum and something not overly sweet, she did her best but I was not a fan. Came back to try their version of a colada, it was ok but definitely not the best version of an iced colada. I found the drinks to be quite weak. read more

Stopped by this bar because it's where the Despacito music video was filmed. Cute little hole in the wall. Very good drinks! Best drink was the Peligroso! Not as impressed by guanabana punch. read more
We were really looking forward to going here after hearing the rave reviews, but didn't have the best experience. We went on a Sunday evening, so maybe another night would've been better. We loved the live music and dancing. However, we sat down and were told we couldn't order at the bar if sitting at a table even though we waited about 15 minutes for a server. We also only saw a limited menu. Would've loved to try some of the other drinks we had heard about. read more

All I can say is WOW!! #1 for happy hour ... now we know why! There's actually 6 bars in 1 ... each with a different look and ambiance as well as varying drink menus. 1. Classy feel with bar, bistro tables and a couple of couches ... try the Pornstar Martini (comes with side shot of champagne) 2. Small quiet bar with wine cocktails ... chill feel especially with great A/C 3. Large mix use room with some hi-top tables for wine bar along with area for salsa dancing ... try the Champeta & Missionary (great bartender even walked over 4 waters to our table without us asking) 4. Dark interior room which was basically the entire dance floor playing loud techno music ... probably better late night (for the younger crowd) 5. Side room in hallway with just enough room for a small bar ... holding a private event but still got a pic 6. Last but not least ... more subdued local bar feel that exited to side street - which took you back to entrance of first bar Absolutely loved this place!! High ceilings and raw vibes give way to well crafted and balanced cocktails and an ecclectic mix of music: salsa, 80s hits and rock and Espanol. Three different rooms - the warmest one, the less warm one and the air conditioned one. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon.... Friendly and courteous bar service. Stopped in for a refreshing drink. Great place to rest between long touristy walks. Ordered the lavender mule - was refreshing. Got an espresso before facing the hot weather again. Service was efficient and friendly. Will come back at a later time and check out the other rooms and offerings. Love the rustic clout clean vibe read more
Fun, artsy and laidback vibe located in old San Juan. The bartender was very friendly and made us an amazing cocktail with ginger. I don't recall the name but it was tasty. A good place to people watch sitting at the bar stools facing the window overlooking the busy sidewalks. read more

La Factoria is a 10/10. This place WAS SUCH A VIBEEEEEE. It was everything I was looking for and more. It was my first time visitng PR and I wanted to visit a nice reputable bar. I did some research and saw that this bar was voted as part of The World's 50 Best Bars! So I had to pay a visit. I love that it has multiples rooms inside with a bar in each single room and different areas to lounge and hang out at. The selection of cocktails are fantastic! And the bartenders are very sweet too. If you're visiting PR and don't know where to go, GO TO LA FACTORIA! It will make you want to come back and visit PR, like it did for me :) You can best believe I will be back very soon! read more

What a cool spot to visit for drinks!! It's basically broken up into different bar/lounge areas. The first is laid back, with classic lounge vibes including bar, couches, and small private seating areas. The next one is narrow bar seating - a little more up beat. Then you have the next areas - a little louder, more open - less seating, set up for dancing. And then in back the "red room" has a club atmosphere where you can't even hear yourself think lol We loved it though. The place has so much character and old time feel to it. The drinks are amazing! Prices are what you'd expect for an upscale bar with exceptional baristas. Perfect place to hang out with a group of friends for drinks. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area. read more

We enjoyed our time here. This was one of a popular place told to us by the locals and on social media is so laid back. Kind of speech. Easy vibes All ethnic groups seem to be welcome and the music buried in different rooms or salsa room. What kind of a R&B and pop when I was there on my visit. My daughter and I enjoyed a lavender drink which was really different. No cover charges in any of the clubs or lounges which is great and everyone was nice read more

How this place doesn't have 5 stars blows my mind!! Mind you, all the bars are amazing in Old San Juan, but this place is the most recommend and honestly, I understand why. The bar staff is great, they have three different place you can hangout and listen to great music and you can see the street from the top floor! I was only able to eat the fried wings but they were amazing! Their kitchen is closed Tuesday and Wednesday, just a heads up but there's plenty of good places to eat! Highly recommend! Definitely making this a primary stop whenever I come back to mi Viejo San Juan! read more

When in Old San Juan, La Factoría is THE place to stop and enjoy a refreshing drink while exploring the Spanish Colonial Fortress and unique streets or some delicious bites in the evening followed by dancing to some great music. This is an absolute must when in Old San Juan! With tons of signature cocktails, it was hard to choose but we enjoyed the lavender mule the most. The bartenders at each of the different bars were all attentive even though it was packed. The very back had a live band which created a fun, dance friendly atmosphere for the night. read more
Although the electricity was off for our experience, the cocktails were lights ON. Everyone must stop here for a cocktail or two. I wish we could have experienced it with the lights on but it was an intimate experience regardless. read more
TLDR: Amazing ambiance, great drinks and wonderful servers! LA Factoria is a must visit place while in Old San Juan. Famous for being on the music video Despacito, this bar really lives up to the hype. The ambience is wonderful and there are more than one bar in this setting and you can experience different settings and get comfortable in anyone depending on your mood for the night. Fuimos a la Factoria por que leímos es uno de los mejores bares del mundo y fue donde grabaron despacito. Es un bar de salsa con varios ambientes, preguntamos si ponían reguetton y nos vieron con cara de locos creo que es una perdida de oportunidad! si me preguntas a mi, pondría la canción de despacito una vez cada hora! en uno de los ambientes pero entiendo estarán hartos y es un bar de salsa, pero en el ambiente que estábamos había rock y musica en ingles... eso me decepciono un poco... So many cool rooms to wander into!!! What a vibe! We walked in and were shocked the areas just kept going and going. There was a different style of music and ambiance going on in each room. We found a Latin room where there was a live band, salsa dancing and lots of people. We went into the R&B area which was cute and small like a mini lounge/ bar room, low hip hop and r&b playing l. Craft cocktails and a smaller crowd. Seats are bar and along the wall. This was our favorite room. We also enjoyed the techno room which was dark but had red led lights. A larger space, less crowded than the Latin room, but a vibe l. We rocked out and tried some local brews in this room. This spot is cool and low key a major win because you get a little of everything. If you are like us and out with a group this is the perfect spot to try out. Oh my goodness. What a vibe! It's a bar, or 3 bars actually, with killer food. The trip to La Factoria did not disappoint. The different rooms with different aesthetics (and great music to boot) was a real treat. The bartenders are attentive, friendly, and pointed me in the right direction. Those pork empanadas are to die for, and they're still in my dreams! OMG, La Factoria is the spot. Please take me back! read more
La Factoría was an amazing experience! Each room was a different vibe and different crowd. The music was also different in each room. From the lighting to the decor, you experienced something different as you stepped through each hall to enter a different connected bar. I would highly recommend this place in Old San Juan. read more
All the experience of bar hopping without having to leave the bar! They advertise 6 different bars that you walk through to get through-- we were only able to find 5 of them, of which one (La Cubanita) we had to go through a separate entrance outside to get to. Could not find the final bar for the life of us. Also I saw some previous reviews mentioning there being an upstairs, which we also could not find. Now onto the drinks-- highly recommend the Lavender Mule, which is their most popular drink for a reason. Also ordered a Champita, which was decent. Prices are great, averaged like $10 a cocktail which for the quality you're getting is a fantastic deal. read more

La factoría was one of the spots recommended by locals and my salsa instructor. We came here for drinks and to put our salsa lesson to the test. There are three different rooms to choose from and we spent the majority of our time in the second room with the live band. Service at the bar was relatively quick and the bartender made a decent old fashioned. I honestly had no expectations, so it was a nice experience but not somewhere I would return. read more

Worth the stop if you're in old San Juan - the lavender mule was light, unique, and refreshingly delicious, but the standout for both of us was the pornstar martini, which was a perfectly balanced blend of sweet passionfruit, acidic lime, and warm vanilla. We went during the day, so we didn't get the full multi-bar experience, but we would definitely come back on a Saturday night!!! read more
This was a cool place to go to in Old San Juan. It's 3 bars in one. 2 small sections of bars and then the 3rd section is playing salsa and a dance floor to salsa all night if you want to. You can definitely come here for drinks, cocktails and bites. It was a fun vibe and fun night for dancing as it was packed. If it's a hot night like when I went, you will be sweating if you're dancing as I think there is no AC. They do have little windows open where you can see outside and outside in. If you stand by it, you get a nice little breeze. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. read more
