We had a very limited amount of time in Old San Juan, so after an absolutely stellar golf cart tour of the city, our group was ready to eat. We were seated quickly on the patio, which had a great atmosphere, but one member of our party was engaged in a losing battle against the local bird population. These weren't your average birds politely minding their own business--they were running coordinated food-theft operations and dive-bombing tables like tiny feathered pirates. Seeing the concern, the staff graciously moved our group inside without hesitation, which we really appreciated. Service took a little while after that, but the place was busy, and they'd already accommodated our last-minute relocation due to the ongoing Bird Crisis of 2026, so we were happy to relax with a few beers and cocktails while we waited. It's been a while, but if memory serves me correctly, we ordered Fish Bites, Rum Chicken Bites, and several other shareable plates. Everything was delicious. Even our notoriously picky son cleaned his plate of fries, which may be the highest rating our family can award. The inside of the restaurant was almost an attraction unto itself. Everywhere you looked there were interesting knick-knacks, old rum bottles, antiques, and random treasures. I could have spent another hour just wandering around and inspecting the cabinets. Part of me wishes we could have stayed on the patio because the energy outside was lively and fun. Maybe next time we'll be a little braver--or at least better prepared to negotiate with the birds. Overall, the prices seemed fair for a popular tourist destination, the food was excellent, and the staff was accommodating. If I find myself back in Old San Juan someday, I'd happily return
It was our last night in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and to be honest, we hadn't been completely thrilled with some of our previous restaurants experiences. We decided to give it one more chance for our last dinner -- and I'm so glad we did. The food was amazing. We genuinely enjoyed every single plate we ordered. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared -- no complaints at all. The staff was great and very attentive throughout the night. And they even had a good spicy sauce! I have Mexican friends who love their food extra spicy, and this sauce definitely delivered. The vibe was tropical and beautiful. It's located right by the shore, so you get a nice view while you eat. It was the perfect way to end our trip. Honestly, we loved it. You must try their chicken Chicharron And Signature Stuffed Mamposteao!
The view and location is what gets this place by. It's nice to look at with enjoyable weather and that can be appreciated! The service is poor and the food is only okay. We came in at 1:30 on a Friday and sat at the bar and ordered two cocktails, the fried cheese, and croquettes. The cocktails took a little bit but were good. The fried cheese and croquettes took over an hour to come out which was not great considering they are simple appetizers. The croquettes were good and I would recommend. I would not reccomend the fried cheese. When our drinks were empty, which was before our food had come out, there was no follow up service from the bartender. Good views and weather. If I had to do it over again, I would say order a drink each and close immediately and go elsewhere.
Great local spot with some good food and nice decor. The service here was fast and it does get very busy sometimes but I feel inside you get more attention vs outside dining. The pancakes here were amazing. They were both crispy but very light and they look unique with great flavor. Eggs and bacon were pretty good. I suggest getting a reservation as this place fills up quick
We LOVED IT! The history of the place is amazing as it is--the first customs house, still holding the beauty of the era, now made into one of the best establishments we visited. I have to say the location was perfect, the service was spectacular, the views were amazing, the food was SUPER, and the drinks were great. I have to say, we visited 3 TIMES during our time there.
Wow! That was my impression as I walked in and was escorted to my seat. The front entrance doesn't look like much but a helpful staff greeted me and grabbed a menu for me because there was a QR code at the entrance that did not work. She said I don't have seats at the tables inside but there's seats at the bar? So I said ok and I'm sure glad because it opened up into a beautiful view of the ocean and beautifully decorated and the weather was perfect, complete with live entertainment! It would've been a perfect date place. I ordered fried pork with a side of plantain and a cocktail consisting of tamarind and pineapple with rum and there was foam on top. It was delicious. Our server was also our bartender and he didn't seem to speak much English but we managed. Also this venue is within walking distance from the cruise port. We did not need any transportation. Score! My only recommendation would be photos to the cocktail menu because I looked around and saw other guests with pretty drinks but I didn't know the name or how to order them. Although the food and drinks were good, todays experience had me docking a star. When I went to pay my check, I handed over my card and receipt although I had noticed another table had a portable card reader brought out for payment. No big deal I thought. However, my server brought back the receipt and card and said have a good day and left. I thought it was weird that I didn't have to sign anything so I checked online with my bank account. The server automatically added a tip to my bill. Now I do always tip, even when service is slow, but it's the principle of the thing. I always tip 20% as well and I think he added a 15% tip, so he actually would have gotten more from me if he had let me choose a tip. I ate at the bar last time so I think we used the portable card reader so it wasn't an issue since we paid right there, but just something to keep an eye out for. not sure if it's because the restaurant full of cruise boat people don't tip maybe? But like I said, I did notice another table had a portable card reader brought to them to check out, so it should be consistent for everyone. The drink was great (Hand Shake Colada) and my fish tacos were awesome though; I highly recommend both.

On the marina with a partial view of the bay. Excellent rum cocktails. Service is friendly but oh so slow. The pulled pork tacos were dry. The plate was very hot so it seemed like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while read more

I ordered the skirt steak with French fries instead of the rice and it was delicious. Everyone I interacted with was kind and and the atmosphere was lively. I especially loved the pink flowers hanging down and the view of the water. read more

The ambience of both the indoor and outdoor seating area is very cute. The service is a bit on the slow side, but if you just want to relax and have good food and drinks this is a great place. The tacos & drinks were delicious! read more

My FAVORITE lunch experience, hands down! Shoutout to our waitress Jennifer for not only showing us a great time, but being attentive to our orders, and even bringing a birthday shot for me. I had a blast and her service largely contributed to that. Next, this place is magnificent! The decor is stunning and I felt like I was dining at a breathtaking Spanish villa. What a beautiful ambiance! Drinks: The bartender needs to be paid double for the way he served up those drinks and put my boyfriend and me in a gooooooooood mood! We tried the: Rum Fashion (my boyfriend) Rum - Di - Negroni (me) BOTH drinks were stellar and the icing on the cake was the rum added. We also took a shot of Tresclavos! And because it was that delish, I picked up a bottle at the airport! Appetizers: The empanadas are DELECTABLE! Buttery soft crust and amazingly seasoned filling. Of course, both were beef but the consistency in taste made me believe that this place knows exactly what they're doing when it comes to good food! Main dish: My boyfriend had the Chicken Chicharron with Rice and Beans and I have to admit that Puerto Rican food wins for their quality taste and seasonings. The rice and beans were the best I've ever had and that chicken chicharron was seasoned to the core. He loved it and I loved sampling it lol I had the Fried Pork with Tostones and what else can I say but, another taste winning experience! The fried pork carried the show with its perfect crisp on the outside and juiciness inside. The tostones added to the fun and was complimented by a nice sauce on the side. My dish whisked me away! No dessert, just a birthday shot! I was completely stuffed and satisfied. Highly recommended! Book reservations if you can and go and enjoy the bar area and then sit at your table and enjoy the flavor ride. 10/10! read more
Stopped here to have some drinks and a quick bite. We sat outside by the bar and it was really nice. I enjoyed the view of the water and ships. The staff were friendly and provided good service. Ambiance was chill and super cute- great if you want to take some selfies with the pretty flowers they have hanging from outside. What we ordered- Frozen Piña Coladas- 10/10 Super yummy and refreshing! Great amount of coconut/ pineapple/ rum not to much of one or the other very well balanced. Mojito- 10/10 Refreshing! 3 tacos de Pernil ( pork) 10/10 Ohh these are a must! Thank me later! One thing Puerto Ricans are highly known for is Pernil ( pork) they know how to marinade and season! And I promise this Pernil was marinated and seasoned with love because every bite that I took from the taco was amazinggggg! Omg you're missing out if you haven't had the salmon. Very tender with cilantro rice and plantains throughout. I had perfect seating near the live musician. The waitress was very intensive. I initially wanted to try the fish batter tacos, but they weren't available. I then ask for a suggestion, and they did not disappoint. read more
Such a beautiful restaurant with great scenery, especially outside overlooking the water! Our waitress was very attentive and gave great recommendations as it was our first time here. The piña colada is so creamy and delicious, 10/10 have to try and the espresso martini was really smooth too! The starters we ordered were all very solid, Fried Cheese 8.5/10 really different cheese texture but so good. Rum Glazed Chicken Wings, great flavor 9/10. Firecracker Pork Dumplings had an incredible sauce 9/10! For entree's we got the Chicken Stuffed Mamposteao and Skirt Steak and wow the portions were so big! Both were very solid, overall I'd highly recommend checking out this place! read more

Gorgeous restaurant right by the waterfront. My favorite things was the way the bartender prepared my cocktail - I asked for an Old Man Hemingway with a medium amount of alcohol in it and it was exactly how he delivered it. The food was alright - I often judge the kitchen overall by the quality of their French fries which looked store bought. My arancini were nice but lacked flavor and spices. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily eat here again but would definitely come back for drinks! read more

Ambience - 5/5 Food- 4/5 Service - 2/5 Two star because of effective rating. I've been to almost 5-6 dine in places, none of them charged for a bottle. First you are supposed to tell your customer that you're going to charge $3 per water bottle, it was surprise to me at the time I saw check. So either you get ready to pay for water or carry your own. We had to wait 30 mins to get a table, which is understandable if a place with sea view is quite full on weekends evening. Upon seated, we were asked if we needed anything, I told water, which I was charged for and didn't know till the end. For the food, we waited for 20 mins. Now the food was pretty solid. Puerto Rico folks seems to know how to make the best fried rice and this restaurant nailed it. Tacos were a little soggy but overall taste was ok. Overall decent place if you get a table with view. Our experience wasn't great with the service we got. First the waitress never got back when asked to check on food, table was unstable, we were fixing it on our own while she was watching it, and then the water situation. read more

Ambiance was nice - we had outdoor seating with view of the bay. We ordered "Chicken stuffed mofongo" We did have to wait for almost an hour for our 1 entree. I wish I could say it was amazing and we loved it....sadly, it was only picture perfect and would give it a 2 out of five. Flavors just weren't there for us. According to my husband, best part was the rice..lol. Great location, but more for those who enjoy alcoholic beverages - they seem to have lots of choices. read more

La Casita was such a vibe headed there for lunch while in San Juan and it did not disappoint. Drinks were delicious and so was the food. We had a light lunch before getting the day started fish tacos and steak tacos. The hospitality was great and pretty decor outside. read more
came here on our first night to have dinner, were quoted an hour/hour 1/2 wait for food but it went by super quick, we didnt mind waiting although others did even though they were told beforehand. We sat at the bar and met NAIOMI, she was amazing, had us laughing and even had a conversation with her and she was always so genuine from the beginning. i love when i go to to restaurants and bars that have stagf that make you feel like you've known each other forever ! thats exactly how we felt about her, its super cute inside right along the water. Not too loud and although its a small place theres plenty of seats :) will definitely be back before we leave! read more

This little gem old town San Juan by the water is a must go to when you are in town. We did not have a reservation and were seated almost immediately at the bar. All the staff were very friendly and the ambiance was bright and fun. Our bartender TK was the absolute best. She was mortified when I asked for a margarita. She told me in the nicest way possible that I cannot come to the rum capital and order a tequila based drink. So I trusted TK and she made me a rumarita with some barrel aged rum. When I say it was the most delicious drink I had during my stay in Puerto Rico...I mean every word. I normally experience headaches after drinking rum based drinks and this was my first rum experience without a headache after. The other person in my party ordered a pina colada. TK made it over ice which was a first experience. I only tried a sip and it was really tasty and smooth compared to the regular frozen pina colada. TK also informed us that La casita de rones is a stop on the rum tour so this was quite a treat! We tried the fried cheese appetizer which was really delicious. It was crunchy on the outside but really soft on the inside. If you like savory apps, this is a must try. Hands down the best customer service we experienced during our stay in San Juan! The one caution is the birds... they are big and fearless and will invite themselves to your table. read more

What a great last meal in Puerto Rico! This was a last minute find, but I was glad we stumbled upon this spot right by the water. They offer a nice patio with flowers hanging down overlooking the ocean. Everything was great, although just a tad pricey. For drinks, I had the Handshake Pina Colada ($12.99) while he had the Rum Old Fashioned ($13.99). The pina colada is served in a cute glass pineapple cup, which is such a vibe for the drink. It was also tasty too! For food, we weren't too hungry and just had some appetizers to snack on. We ordered the Empanadas ($10.76) and Rum Glazed Wings ($14.99). Both of these were yummy and I really enjoyed the flavor on the wings, although they were on the small side. Overall, nice spot for a relaxing meal with a n oceanfront view. The service and food/drinks were good despite being a tad on the pricey end. read more
