It's a fast casual restaurant where you order at the counter and there is limited indoor seating as well as a pretty impressive retail area filled with quality products for cooking at home. I went with "the Cure" but instead of mustard vinaigrette, I asked for pesto. They were accommodating and it was delicious! Note: As others have mentioned, their sandwiches are huge! There is a wall of fun market items including fun pastas and baked goods. Ordering was tough... as everything sounded good. My husband and I shared the AC-DC and the Green Day. They were both packed with flavor. Our kids each got Bambinos which each had quite the healthy amount of meat and cheese. To top things off, each sandwich came wrapped in a classic deli paper with napkins packaged inside -- the best touch! The owner was welcoming and friendly -- he gave each of our kiddos the most delicious chocolate chip cookies I've ever had! The staff were also very efficient with the sandwich making. Great process. There are few things I love more than a sandwich and La Fetta knows how to make a great one. There are a few tables inside, but most of the seating is outside. I think this would be a great place to grab and go. The service was quick. You order at a counter and they call out your name when the order is ready. The sandwich itself is HUGE. I enjoyed the large portion size, the reasonable price, the first-rate ingredients and the stellar service from the owner. My Cure sandwich (sandwiches are named after music groups) included a good portion of Boar's Head turkey on fresh ciabatta bread with tasty cheese and fresh veggies for $10.95. It was nicely sized at 7"L x 4"W x 2.5"H and was brought to my table just four minutes after I ordered at the counter. The dining area was clean and small with a view of the kitchen and three tables for two, but no background music and no TVs. I also noticed a patio area with two tables for two out front. The service was fast and friendly with a genuine interest from the owner in customer feedback - nice! The staff (mostly high school to college age) are still finding their groove -- not quite pros at sandwich-making yet (a few ingredient mix-ups, microgreens on just one side, burrata not evenly spread), but sandwich-making is an art, and they'll get there. What really sets La Fetta apart is the concept: every sandwich is named after a classic rock band or artist. From AC-DC to Zeppelin, it's a clever A-to-Z tribute -- and even the vegetarian options (Madonna, The Pretender, Green Day) get cheeky nods. There's even a Bambino for kids under 10 -- a fun touch that keeps the theme going. It's the kind of idea that instantly makes you smile and actually matches the energy of the food. I tried the Blue Oyster Cult ($12.95) and Sublime ($13.95): Blue Oyster Cult -- roast beef, gorgonzola horseradish spread, balsamic glaze, red onion, tomato, spinach. The gorgonzola and balsamic are the yin and yang here -- creamy bite meets tangy sweetness. Unexpectedly my favorite of the two. Sublime -- prosciutto, hot sopressata, burrata, walnut pesto, spicy garlic aioli, sundried tomatoes, arugula. Unique flavor combo -- the walnut pesto is phenomenal, earthy and rich, and the aioli adds just the right kick. Mine came with fresh tomato and a handful of microgreens (not listed on the menu), and honestly, both worked beautifully. I'd argue they belong on the sandwich permanently -- the tomato adds brightness, and the greens give a fresh crunch that balances all the richness even better than sundried tomatoes might. The bread is chewy and perfectly baked -- sturdy enough to hold the fillings without getting tough. Meats are top-tier, veggies crisp, and sauces exceptional -- everything tastes freshly made and thoughtfully layered. The flavor is absolutely there, and once the sandwich execution catches up, this place will be unstoppable. For being open just a couple of weeks, La Fetta's already hitting it out of the sandwich ballpark. Easily one of the best delis in town -- and it's not even close. Today, I had the Blue Oyster Cult - and I have to admit that I picked it based on the ingredients list. Roast beef, Gorgonzola horseradish spread, red onion, tomatoes and spinach. It usually comes with balsamic vinegar, but I ordered it without to compare it to a long-gone Panera favorite, the Pepper Blue (and I'll never forgive them for doing away with it) - The Blue Oyster Cult sandwich more than scratches that itch, and since everything is made in-house, it's arguably higher-quality than anything any big chain sandwich shops are doing. It's quite a long drive from Lenexa down to this location, so it is likely to stay as an occasional visit rather than my new go-to...but I really look forward to trying other sandwiches on their menu! I got the red hot chili peppers sandwich with turkey, hot sopressata, sharp white cheddar, fresh basil, pepperoncini, piquillo peppers, red onion, mayo, and "feisty sauce". I got Zeppelin with turkey, dry salami, pastrami, provolone, greens, balsamic marinated onions, oil & vinegar. This may very well be the best sandwich I have ever had. This is such a unique delicatessen located in Overland Park! Their menu offers such a wide variety of choices from a savory to sweet in a sandwich. I got the beach boy spicy and was blown away with the flavor especially the garlic aioli! It was so fresh and paired well with the avocado spread inside the sandwich. Staff were so helpful and quick to get my food out to me! It's a great addition to the OP area to offer grab and go lunches or a nice sit down atmosphere for a great sandwich. What a great addition the south KC area! This place has an awesome vibe, the music playing, the workers ( all young) actually know their job and can have a conversation while ordering. I am gluten free ( allergy) and they can accommodate, the owner ( so I assume) assured me GF was handled in a clean area, and it sure was. They made our two sandwiches, bc of course both needed to be GF so I could try my husbands, I'm a different area then the other sandwiches and used fresh gloves/knife etc. I ordered the Queen and it was delish! I asked for extra walnut pesto and didn't even need it which is abnormal for me, normally places never put enough sauce on. My husband ordered another a turkey w another meat sandwich and he liked mine better. Next time we will try the beach boy and the one with fig. They have Italian items for sale and prices are very comparable to normal grocery items. I can't wait to try more sandwiches here! We were heading home after a morning at the OP Arboretum, and after hearing raves about this deli, we decide to stop here for lunch. First impression was well there were a lot of people waiting!. But I think that's a good sign. We arrived there on a Saturday around 1 o'clock maybe 1:15 and there were probably 10 people waiting for food that they'd ordered. It's a cute little shop, but there's only three tables so I would really recommend planning to carry out rather than to eat in. And in this instance, the manager warned us it could be close to 30 minutes to get our food just because of how backed up they were. But we were hungry and both feeling an Italian sandwich so we picked our sandwiches, I got the AC/DC and my fiancé got the Blue Öyster Cult. Ultimately only waited about 15 minutes and after the very long drive up Metcalf back to my house, we tucked in. I was a little worried because the menu advertises the AC/DC is being spicy, but I found it just a pleasant level of spice. And anyone who really considers themself to be a spice lover won't be challenged at all by it. It was just on the other side of like a Mexican medium if that helps but I picked a specifically because it had a spicy aïoli and the fig and walnut pesto I think? Anyway, I'm a condiment queen so I was really excited to try all the condiments. And it was really delicious. And huge, I actually saved the other half for lunch tomorrow. My fiancé really loved the Blue Öyster Cult. We both agreed that we're not sure if we would go back if only because it's not really on the way to anything and it's pretty far from where we live but if we lived, maybe within 10 minutes of there we would go there pretty frequently. And something I didn't mention earlier is that there is a nice little Italian grocery section here so kind of fun to look at that while we waited. But I would agree with the really positive reviews. We've been anxiously awaiting this opening after learning about it from the Star. First trip had the AC/DC - which says "spicy" but didn't think it was that hot. Bread was super fresh, had the tug of a good Italian bread and the structure to hold the sandwich together without absorbing and getting soggy. Great layering of flavors, from the spreads, to quality meats and fresh veggies. Solid sandwich. Owner was super friendly, wanting feedback on the sandwich and brought us out a fresh cannoli to try, great overall first impression! Next day, wanting to make sure the first visit wasn't a fluke, took my gluten free mom for lunch. I had the Sublime, probably topping the AC/DC, with the fresh burrata and prosciutto, and she had Hall and Oats on their GF bread. She usually food pushes half her sandwich on me, not this meal, she inhaled it and said she was excited to bring her church ladies back here, which is a high compliment. I love the inside. It's super cozy and the little shop part is perfect for browsing while waiting for your sandwich. The staff were super kind and efficient. The sandwiches were really good, but I feel like for the price a little skimpy on the toppings. I got the Pretender and I felt that there were definitely a good amount of tomatoes but I would have loved a little more mozzarella and maybe a crack of black pepper. Otherwise it was incredible! My boyfriend got the Boss and he had the same thoughts that it was really good but could have also used more toppings.
