Mixed experience overall, mostly due to inconsistent execution on a couple of dishes…read more The chicken pizza was a letdown texture-wise -- it wasn't crispy the way it should have been. Sent it back, and the remake came out right. Jambalaya balls were a good concept but overloaded on rice and light on meat. That said, the crispy coating on them was well done. Asian chicken nachos were a toss-up. Chips held a decent crisp, but nothing about the dish stood out enough to win me over. Missed out on a free birthday dessert -- apparently you have to register with them in advance for that, which isn't obvious if you're not already in their system. The space itself is large and open, which made it surprising how busy it was for a Monday at 5:30pm. Staff seemed stretched thin for a restaurant that size -- service was slower than it should've been. The menu is enormous. Between the regular menu, a summer menu, and a special menu, it was more than I could reasonably parse. I stuck with the regular one. This tracks with my past visits -- always been a lot to wade through. Bottom line: Hit-or-miss on the food, service needs more staffing for the volume they get, and the menu could stand to be trimmed down.

The entryway had an overwhelming sewer gas odor that carried throughout the restaurant. We nearly turned around and left, but we had promised our kids the food would make it worthwhile. Sadly, it did not. We were seated with dirty silverware, waited approximately 20 minutes for our server to take our order, and then another 35 minutes for our food. The restaurant was nearly empty--we arrived around 2:30 on a Tuesday--so the delays were especially difficult to understand. We could see our food sitting in the window for at least 15 minutes while our server chatted with another employee. By the time the food arrived, it had clearly been sitting under the warmer too long. The plates were unbelievably hot, while the food itself was dried out and unappetizing. We decided not to risk another long wait for cheesecake, so I went to the counter and purchased a few slices while my husband waited for the check. I was able to order and receive the cheesecake before our server returned to the table with our bill. As we walked out, my daughter looked at me and said, "Remind me why you liked this place again?" Not exactly the birthday memory we were hoping to make.
