This is a chain sandwich shop. The interior has limited seating with max tabes of 4 . This particular shop also had outdoor seating as well ( 2 people tables) Staff was not welcoming or friendly but he was patient as we placed our order with some special needs individuals. The interior was clean and our food was made to order without too long a wait. We got the popular Hot Bobbie which was Thanksgiving in a bun! Slow roasted turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce on a bun... very delicious. We also got the Capastrami which was also excellent. The pastrami was fat free and the coleslaw creamy. Have thought about trying this place and today we stopped in as the other two restaurants we had planned on were packed. Turned out, it was a good choice. While prices are a little higher than larger chain Sub shops, the sandwichs we had were very good. We chose the medium (10 in) subs, and they were filling. Ordered the Capistrami, this was the pastrami I have been looking for, it was spot-on full of flavor and toppings were in balance. Granted it was delivered, but still hot and oh, was it moist. I had driven by many times and finally one night decided to give it a try. I had no idea it was a chain! I was so pleasantly surprised to see their menu had vegan and vegetarian options - which is not often the case for a sandwich shop! I ordered the tuna sandwich and it was incredible! My first time I got an 8 inch sub and the portion of tuna salad they gave was huge which was such a pleasant surprise! The bread they use is so good too! I've been back multiple times since. The prices were reasonable but we were a little turned off by the service. They were out of the soup and the staff came off as crash and inconsiderate. Ignore some of the weird reviews that gave them low scores and an average score of 3.0 here on Yelp. My wife and I went there for the first time over the weekend and they were a nice departure from the typical chain shop: large menu with unique items as well as the classics. She got the Philly cheesesteak and I had the slaw b Joe. Very neat and orderly, and yes the wash sink was outside the restroom, probably to help make sure everyone washed their hands, because lord knows where some of those hands have been!! the layout looked kinda like a Jimmy John's. But since Capriotti's has been around since 1976, they almost certainly borrowed from them and not the other way around. Highly recommended!! read more

I checked out Capriotti's yesterday and overall it was good. It's in a super tiny space. There are a few tables inside but it gets a little claustrophobic if they get busy and have people waiting. Yesterday, the hot sandwiches were on a 30 minute wait so it did pile up a bit. There are a few small outdoor tables so in the summer or when the weather is warmer, that would be a nice option. The sinks to wash your hands are also in the main dining room, pretty close to the drink fountain. I like that the placement basically forces people to wash their hands after using the restroom (because some people are gross and don't) but it was a little off putting and I wouldn't want to sit by it. Again, it's in a small space so I get it. I ordered the medium Capastrami. A medium is 10 inches, a large is 18, they also have a 5 inch, and an 8 inch...a size for any appetite. The capastrami features hot pastrami, swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing. The best part of the sandwich for me was the bread. It was so soft and delicious. The pastrami was also good but I've never had bad pastrami. I'm not a huge fan of coleslaw but it's a new year so I decided to try it out on this sandwich. It was good. Just regular, plain old coleslaw, nothing special or crazy. I wouldn't get it as a side but it worked on this sandwich. The drink fountain was a little meh. They do offer root beer and cream soda. I'm not sure if they make it (I'm pretty sure that's not the case) or if it's some special type. But they don't have water or ice tea, which is my normal go to because I don't really drink soft drinks. I went with the cream soda because the root beer was out of order. It was good. It tasted like cream soda. All in all, it was good but I don't really see myself making the trip to grab a sandwich. If I was closer, maybe. read more

Definitely one and done with this nasty place. From the front door to the floor the place is nasty. The bathroom was dirty. The soda machine had water pouring down and onto the floor with a dirty shop rag laying on the floor 'soaking' it up. The excess was running on the floor. I wonder how much mold must be growing in that soda dispensing machine? Yuck. The table wasn't clean and even the window had food crumbs in it. The floor was so sticky the chair wouldn't even slide on it. Toilet paper is laying on the back of the toilet. There was one other customer there besides me. So it wasn't a matter of an overwhelming crowd that was keeping the staff busy. If I had not been pressed for time, I would have walked out. Who runs a restaurant/sandwich shop in this condition??? The meatball sandwich was nothing more than a microwave zapped ball that tasted nothing like beef. The sauce was a standard issue sauce from a can out of a food supply warehouse. The bread was soft. I was surprised that you couldn't add some of the usual sandwich toppings so I ordered it as is. I arrived 10 minutes after my scheduled pickup time after ordering online and walked in to everyone standing in place. I said my name for the order and she pulled a receipt out of a pile of papers and clearly just started to make my sandwich. I took it home and it was incredibly bland. I had to split it up over my lunch and dinner because it was very drying and didn't have much flavor. I order a 1/2 Balsamic Chicken 280 - 590 cal Premium grilled chicken breast, mixed greens, gorgonzola cheese crumbles, glazed cranberry walnuts, and balsamic dressing. It is a large serving very filling and so delish, There was cranberries, walnuts and cheese crumbles in every bite, the bowl is about 6 inches square and with the lid 3or 4 inches deep. I asked for extra meat and even after all that my husband's order was correct and mine was still not double meat. While the flavor is good, make sure and eat there, the time you get home the bottom of the bread is soggy. I stopped in last night to pick up some sandwiches in the way to visit my dad who had fallen and was at a nearby hospital. Many items looked like they could be messy to eat, so I asked the young man at the register for recommendations on sandwiches that would be the least messy, and easy to eat, given the hospital setting. He was so helpful and kind, giving great recommendations. Then the young lady who packaged the sandwiches let me know that she wrapped them extra carefully to make sure they weren't going to fall apart very easily as we ate. They both smiled and said they hoped my night got better as I left. They were just so kind and made my night a little better. I didn't know this was a sandwich shop; I always thought it was something like the place the mob does hits in movies. The way it looks from the outside, it looks like some kind of place that sells a good veal cutlet. I got this evening a wagyu beef sandwich in an Italian roll. Not impressed. You'd think this kinda place, what with the name, Capriotti's, they'd do the Italian beef more robustly. I'll say this, if the hospital or nursing homes were in need of a pile of sandwiches for lunch service, they'd call up Capriotti's fo' sho'. The salt just wasn't where it needed to be. It was all over the map; the "Au Jus" is clearly just beef base warmed up. Umami was entirely missing from this meal. I hate to say it, but a pinch of MSG would do this shop WONDERS! If you can't manipulate umami with mushrooms, garlic, or boiled bones and long-cook beef, you gotta just pinch a little cheat codes into these pieces! I don't know, do you I guess. Also, those sweet peppers, take it easy on the sweet; it seemed like they macerate the peppers in sugar or something, just off-putting and distracting to the beef in the beef sandwich. It was clean, efficient, and precisely constructed. But it lacked the soul! The Jazz! That smack yo' mama saltiness, and I've had Italian beef's in Chicago. This was NOT that. I love a well run business. You can tell that these Capriotti's owners take pride in their sandwich shop. Each table has its own decor, everything is clean and succinct and the few employees I spoke with were all friendly and engaging. It's so nice!! Did you know this chain started as a mom & pop on the East coast but is now headquartered in Vegas?? #1 - the hoagie rolls are AMAZING. They're soft, but not mushy. They had great flavor and texture. Yum! #2 - the small would have been enough for me, but when they accidentally gave me a medium, I was pleasantly surprised. (And ate it all...) #3 - this location has 3-4 outdoor two person tables and it is perfect to enjoy your sandwiches on the patio. TheBobbie Sandwich: super filling. Tasted like Thanksgiving. For me, it needed some crunch of a vegetable. The texture of the Turkey, stuffing and cranberry were all the same and needed something to counter the softness of it all. But the taste was spot on! The Capastrami: I added hot peppers - so good!!! It was a perfect balance of salty and sweet with the meat and the coleslaw. I really enjoyed my American Wagyu Cheese Steak from Capriotti's. I went in later on a Sunday afternoon, and was the only customer. I think people might enjoy dining in more if explicit music wasn't being blasted at super loud levels. I was a bit shocked at some of the music being played by the crew working that day. The crew working that day all seemed to be high school aged or possibly college aged, but definitely no one above 25 was working on the day I was there. I originally planned to dine in, but with the music being blasted at club levels, I decided to get it to go. The music was briefly turned down while my order was being taken, so at least I didn't have to yell. A couple other people came in to pick up to-go orders while I was there, and the music would be briefly turned down while the staff dealt with them, but then would be turned back up. The sandwich itself was delicious, and I'd definitely get it again when I'm craving a cheese steak. I don't see any other reviews complaining about the music, so not sure if it was just a one time thing or not. read more

I've eat here often and have enjoyed several types of subs, and taken subs to people in my shop, etc. They've always been good and everybody has enjoyed them. Today for lunch I stopped in the Overland Park shop and got a Classic Turkey Club for me & the Classic Italian Sub for a friend to go. Right at $31. ..... Got home and when we went to eat them we discovered there was no dressing, mayo, etc on either sandwich (they were DRY) and the bread tasted dry / stale. As someone that avoids meat i generally also avoid sandwich shops. Eating crunchy vegetables on bread is pretty unappealing. Capriotti's is different. This former Sammy shop offers multiple menu items for vegetarians and they're actually GOOD....delicious in fact. My favorite is the chicken alternative Philly cheesesteak sandwich by all are worth a taste. The worst service and worst sandwhich I ever had. They were out of pretty much everything, The shop is full of young girls who act like they are in its space. They made my sandwhich wrong and then when they remade it, They made it inferior spicy hot probably because I told them my cheesesteak was missing everything. My opening day experience showed room for improvement. The service at the counter was slow, as opening day was used to train the cashiers, and you still need to sign with a pen for credit card orders, but my order was ready in just a few minutes. Unfortunately, the order was wrong, as my sandwich was prepared with standard toppings instead of including the one topping substitution I requested. The "small" size homemade turkey sub ($8.49) measured 8" long, with an okay portion of shredded, moist, white, Butterball turkey and fresh toppings on dense white bread (the only choice on the menu), which tended to overwhelm the sandwich. The smallish dining area was clean and bright, with background music and a two person hand washing station. I wish they offered sandwich size examples at the counter (or lengths in inches on the in-store menu boards) instead of only the vague descriptions (half, small, medium, and large), other breads besides white, iced teas, and lower prices (although the app helps). I am missing the accessibility of grabbing a great sandwich down the street from my house. Because of that, I've been on a mission to find a go to sand which spot. Trying capriotti's, I was somewhat hopeful to find something somewhat good. Unfortunately my experience was not great. The service and staff were very kind but the main problem was that the bread! Imagine a day old super market roll and that the best comparison to the quality I got when I bit into my first bite in the cheese steak sandwich. Typically the flavors of the a philly cheese steak is so powerful that the bread wouldn't have to do much to complete the sandwich. It didn't matter. The meat was bland, the hot peppers were the main taste profile and the with the old tasting bread, I thought the food was poor. 2 out of 5 because maybe I caught them on a off day. They asked if I wanted everything on it and then didn't put on cranberry. How do you forget one of the main ingredients? Same thing happened to me at WaWa last year when I ordered the gobbler. I'm not always up for cold subs but we met friends here before going to an event. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful some this was our first time here. It's small and on a Friday night it was not busy. Small and convenient... Basic contemporary place. The tomato soup was delicious. The one person who got a brownie-cookie treat wished they'd gotten a basic cookie. But they have a large selection of sandwiches that they customize as well as salads. My wife loved her custom salad. We all were pleased with our sandwich selections. The bread was fluffy and soft. I had a classic Italian which I thought was well made and had better than average quality meats.
