Had a really bad, rude experience at LaFiesta tonight. Enjoyed a very good meal having food and drinks with 2 friends. Towards the end of our time there the "bartender/server" that we had came up to our table and asked us to leave or move to a bar stool because "people were waiting for tables." At that time there were 2 empty tables right next to us and there were several others in the next room. We did tell him he was being rude to us and then he was trying to say he wasn't being mean. As we were leaving we asked to speak with the manager and told him what had happened and while he agreed this should have never been said to us since there were NO customers waiting we felt he just didn't care. He asked us what we wanted him to do and we said, 'nothing, a bad review and us not coming back will be enough.' I have never had this happen to me before and was shocked. Had dinner with family. My husband & I shared the chicken & steak fajitas. Plenty for both of us. Food was good & reasonably priced. Our server, Fabiola was great! We tried this place for lunch today instead of our usual Mexican place. This place is WAY better than our last fav spot. Good margaritas, nice staff, very clean and well decorated. I highly recommend the Mexican Cobb salad, one of the better salads I've ever had... only complaint, it needs to be served in a big bowl. It came on a plate which made it very tough to cut and toss without getting it everywhere. We will definitely be back often. read more

My second best place to eat Mexican food from, they are a little bit more upscale and fancy but it gets your appetite satisfied. I've been to both locations in the Daytona Area and they are good. You can't really find any other places that serve real Mexican Food in that area of Florida. I live in Phoenix, AZ but I would definitely go back to Daytona for this. read more

I am a fan of Mexican food, and I have to say that I have yet to get food anywhere near as good for the price in the Daytona/Orlando area. For me, the star attraction though is the Margaritas. They have so much to choose from, you're sure to like the options. Unlike many restaurants, the 'ritas are delicious, both on the rocks and frozen varieties, and they don't skimp on the tequila. We had always heard wonderful things about this restaurant and today we found out that everything we'd heard was true. Right from the start, service was prompt and courteous. Our waiter was very friendly and informative on menu items. The margarita and daiquiri we wonderful and delivered promptly. Our meal was served very quickly and was delicious. We both had shrimp dishes, one hot and one not too spicy. The entire experience was great. Price was just fine for the food and service. We will definitely be back! read more

I love Mexican food. This place has the best food hands down. The chips are made fresh and served right when you are seated with amazing salsa. I have never had a bad meal here ever. Regardless of what we order it's always delicious. My personal favorite is the fish tacos or the chicken chimichanga with cilantro rice! The staff are always great. The only issues I have had is the consistency of the drinks. I know most people like super strong drinks but I'm not a huge drinker. I do like to get a daiquiri or margarita when I go there. Most of the time they are to die for but not all the staff know how to make them on the rocks so sometimes they are so strong I have to ask for a side of mix ! Never a bad thing I guess. read more

My sister and I loved loved loved this place!! We were headed home from weekend in Daytona Beach and wanted Mexican. Yelp actually helped us locate this restaurant and OMG was it delicious!! We had queso, goat cheese jalapenos, chili rellenos and margaritas and beer. The margaritas were very original, tasty, fresh, perfect really! The beer was cold and the queso was amazing! The chili rellenos were stuffed perfectly with cheese and chicken... We cannot say enough how much we liked this place!! read more

Oh wow. This restaurant had the ability to please everyone in our family get-together, including some picky eaters and those with mild palettes. Two groups of our family met halfway in Ormond Beach for a day of fun in the sun, starting with lunch, and our whole group was pleased with the choice! They easily accommodated our big group of 7, and the service was speedy at that. Their homemade salsa was delish (but very HOT!), and everyone enjoyed the dishes they ordered, from veggie quesadillas, to chicken fajitas, to glazed salmon platters and more. The food was so tasty everyone shared with one another, and everything seemed carefully and authentically prepared - this is not Taco Bell!! The portions were big enough to share but not overdone, and some of us were able to take home food at the end of the meal. We will definitely be meeting up again in Ormond Beach at La Fiesta for another family get-together! read more

Well I have even went back once now but didn't stay to eat. After the first experience, I wasn't letting my friend talk me into a second. I have been a server; I am very empathetic to what they say and do but the service we had the first time, coupled with mediocre food at best, will prevent my family and I from trying it again, (well I might go with a friend if they insisted just because I can't believe it was that bad and need a second opinion...maybe) My husband always asks what the servers favorites are where ever we go. Yes it makes the server in me cringe but I agree with the reasoning; the servers know whats good. So, when we ask our server "what's good?" the answer is a lot of stammers and a mumbled all of it. OK... Maybe he is just new or feels put on the spot, we can empathize. My husband follows up with, "what do you eat for lunch here?" More stammers... OK, "What did you eat for lunch today?" My mom brought me food from home. WTF?! OK look we are trying to get the point across that we like lots of kinds of food, and we believe that the staff knows what are the tastiest dishes in a restaurant. Please give us a straight answer, we want to try many things! Finally, we get, "don't order anything with ground meat. It is too much like Taco Bell. (OMG Taco Bell?!) OK so we order. My husband gets the taco AL pastor, I get the huevos rancheros. (Its been a while so I may be a little off but close enough) My son orders a hamburger. We pose the question, "are you sure?" because you usually want to order something at least loosely associated with the theme of the restaurant. NO! I want a burger today. He eats almost everything it was just what he was craving. OK... We wait and my husband and my meals come out fairly quickly. The server dropping the dishes off is not the server who took our order. (a runner?) No query as to if we have everything. Our server breezes by a bit later and asks. Well we say we don't have our son's hamburger. (I am eating because we have a baby that could go nuclear any second, but my husband is waiting for the boy to get his food) The server says they are missing some ingredients to the burger (now you tell us?) it will just be a bit longer why don't you have the chicken nuggets? Well which is it? A few more minutes or we 86ed them? OK well my son, being fairly easy going, said anything is fine he is just hungry. I have now finished my meal and am taking the baby to the car so that her eminent screaming won't annoy anyone sitting around us. The server brings my son some milk white underdone french fries as I am leaving saying that way he doesn't have to look at an empty plate. You mean the french fries that could have come out with our food; the french fries that accompany the burger with the missing ingredients? (that should have been done with our food) That is basic. Put something down in front of the guest. When these fries finally made their appearance, they were inedible, raw. 15 minutes later my husband and son show up with a box of the tenders. Why they took them I have NO idea. We thew them out once we got home. They were so dark as to almost be burnt. RUBBERY! We had to stop and get the child in the group a happy meal on the way home because no one thought the food we bought there was edible.(that's right a happy meal was better than the food he was served!) No manager stopped by and asked about our meal and any server was intermittent at best. I can handle poor service for excellent food. I can handle mediocre food with excellent service. I try to empathize with the staff and know that every service is not an A+ but at least pretend to care. I should give them one star, but I hope that it was just a really off day, and maybe my experience is not the norm hence the 2 stars. read more

I took my visiting family to La Fiesta two times recently for dinner. We agreed the food was really good, including their salsa & guacamole, but I'm only giving them 4 stars because of our server on our last visit. He hung out at the host/hostess station most of the time & the worst was he made fun of me after serving me a frozen (yes, frozen) beer which kept "erupting". I tried to drink the icy (literally) brew, but finally asked this waiter if I could have another non-frozen beer. This guy took a straw, popped it into the bottle & said, "Okay, I'll drink it". Then laughed. We did not tip this guy very much due to the above and his out & out arrogance. Very poor server. But...I will return to La Fiesta! I will simply request that we do not have that server's table. He is a detriment to a fine establishment. read more

We used to come here all the time months ago and the food was excellent, came today and my entire family including myself was HUGELY dissapointed, nowhere near the same quality as before. I ordered the chimichanga which used to be awesome here, with shredded beef. This time came with ground beef, was half the size as it used to be (no exaggeration) and tasted absolutely AWFUL. This was the same case for the rest of my families meals, decreased portion size substantially and cut back on the quality big time. Refried beans used to be wonderful, this time obviously came put of a can, as well as the guacomole. The shrimp that came in the salad tasted like rubber, overcooked and frozen. Pork in my fathers chimichangas were also out of a can. In sum, used to be a great restaurant but there's been MAJOR revisions to the menu and most certainly not ever coming back, as I'd recommend anyone reading this review to do as well. read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant. The Queso Dip is amazing. I highly recommend their Carnitas. This is hands down my favorite dish here. The atmosphere is fun with music in the background. Attentive and friendly service coupled with bland, over-salted and overly cheesy "Mexican" food. The only Mexicans here were working. Nothing but white empty-nester and family suburbanites eating here. Definitely far from authentic. Even the rice was too salty, and the cut of beef with the "Mar Y Tiera" (surf and turf) dish was a cheap and grissly cut of subpar beef that was lacking flavor and juice and generally uninspiring like the rest of the the food. My sister-in-law, my husband and I are from New Mexico and are big fans of Mexican food. But, Mexican food is very regional. So what we grew up eating and cooking is totally different here. We now live in FL and we have to have our "chili" fix! When we walked into La Fiesta we knew from that moment it was going to be good because it smelled like it should. We were promptly greeted and seated. Luis was our waiter. We had to listen close because he had such a heavy accent, which we missed so much! His service was flawless. Be sure and try the Jalapeno's with goat cheese. That was my entree. My husband had the Cazuelita in Guajillo sauce. My sister-in-law had Guacamole w/shrimp, Puerto Vallarta fish tacos & Mexican street corn. We got two desserts to a bag of Churros and Pastel de Chocolate, yummy!! Everything was so good!! I think we will try the one in Port Orange next time as it is closer to where we live. read more

This place is the most authentic Mexican restaurant you can find in the area. Food is cooked authentically. Am a consistent customer when family comes to town take them there every time have told everyone that I come into contact with don't go to anywhere else. I am here at these twice a week with family and date lunch with the Hubbie. Staff is supper nice and the food is always great, I get the same thing and my husband always get something different every time . Never had a bad experience and always recommend them to my friend. Just wish they had one in Palm coast so I don't have to drive far for my food but it is well worth the drive. read more

A true Mexican horror! After being wowed by the dining experience at their Port Orange location, I had looked forward to my visit to their Ormond location. Unlike the other locale, the first signal was the restaurant was not particularly crowded. The staff was friendly, but not very attentive. The appetizers were just fine, but the meal soon went sour. They cleared the table before the entree's arrived, taking the forks and not replacing them. Then, the fajita entree arrived sizzling and looking wonderful. We had asked for just chicken and shrimp, but the plate came with all sorts of other items. The soft flour tortillas did not accompany the dish, nor did my own entree. It took around 5 minutes to get forks, and several minutes later, the other entree and the soft tortillas arrived. Unfortunately, the fajita plate was no longer sizzling and was rather tepid. The second entree arrived luke warm, at best. To make things even worse, the soda was replaced by water. All these little mistakes added up to a terrible meal. All that unappetizing food, we decided to go for dessert. The chocolate cake was great, but the fried cheesecake was lukewarm at best, and very cold on the inside. Other than the appetizers, the meal was a disaster and the service just as bad. To make matters worse, I spent the next 24 hours with food poisoning, including a nasty fever. I wrote to the mother company a week ago and have not heard back from anyone. TERRIBLE OPERATION, TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT, TERRIBLE SERVICE, and I suspect unsafe food handling. I am certainly a foodie, expecting a reasonable product. I am not one who normally complains, but this was a doozie. Surely, a note back to me indicating any kind of concern whatsoever, would have placated some of my concerns. I was very impressed by the other La Fiesta in Port Orange, but honestly, given their lack of concern over serious issues, i'd hesitate from returning to any restaurant operated by the Rios Restaurant Group. read more

We love this place!! The staff is always friendly. The service is great. Now the important part, the food.....It is excellent! They will cook to order and everything is delish! We love to sit on the patio and have wonderful Margaritas and guacamole. It's the best guacamole we've ever had!! Sometimes we just go for soup! Yes, it's that good!! My favoritesare the Cancun summer salad, the chicken tortilla soup and the queso funditio shouldn't be missed!! I don't eat red meat, so they put the shredded chicken on top!! It is wonderful!! I also love the quesadilla Guadalajar....OMG it is the best!! And they have the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten in a restaurant, no kidding!! I love La Fiesta! It's great for a date night or a large party. The servers are all very attentive and the food is delicious. I've tried tons of different items and all are great. My favorite are the Chile Rellenos, my husband loves the Steak Ranchero (it's a must try). Everything from the chips and salsa to the margaritas are worth a trip! read more

My wife and I came in last week for an early dinner, hoping to try out a new place before going to see a movie. It wasn't too busy yet, so we were glad to have some peace and quiet. While the food was very fast and tasted good, the service was absolutely horrible. This girl must absolutely hate her job. Never smiled once, was completely rigid while taking our order and even had the nerve to get an attitude with us when we asked to substitute a side on the menu. Now I used to be a bartender and my wife was a server some time ago, and we were both appalled and shocked at the way this girl treated us. When I used to be in the service industry, that kind of behavior was grounds for getting fired. I would never dream of speaking to a customer the way we were treated. When she finally brought us the check, she acted totally different, in a fake nice way, obviously just trying to get a tip. I asked her what her name was - Samantha - and wrote it down so I would not forget. I plan on calling the manager when I get some time this week and see what he or she has to say. read more
