Not too busy so we were immediately seated and our waitress quickly brought us chips and salsa and took our orders. Food came out quickly. My husband had a salad with a good amount of chicken and I really liked my homemade tortillas for my tacos. Food was good nice experience.

Flautas and tacos were good, rice and toppings were okay but the beans tasted strange. My husband and I both agreed and didn't eat them. They didn't taste bad like we'd get sick but they were different and we simply didn't like the taste. Server was good but not very personable. Just took orders, brought food and ran the check. We did not drink but other tables all had huge beers and drinks that looked really good! Would be a good happy hour spot. I forget if they did HH pricing or not...if so, I would come back!

Let's start with the complimentary chips and salsa, shall we? Loved them! Some Mexican restaurants no longer offer these and we avoid those restaurants at all costs. We had one in Altamonte Springs that offered "complimentary" chips and salsa with the purchased an appetizer! What?!?!? Yes! Here you get 2 free baskets and then pay $3.50 for additional baskets which we think is brilliant! 1 or 2 baskets is more than enough for us especially considering how quickly most entrees come out of Mexican kitchens. The tacos were great and they allowed us to mix and match different shells and chicken/meat. Full bar with some good brews and the churros we had for dessert were delicious. Service was spot on friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. We'll be back!

Actually it was pretty good. A little slow on the service but overall not bad. Good selection on bar and beer selection. I had the crab and spinach enchilada and candyce had the chicken skewers. She let me try to the chicken skewer meat. Really tasty. The taste on the enchiladas was a bit strong. Probably won't order those in the future. Very nice place with good artwork on the walls. We'll be back.

Monarca Mexican proved to be an incredible find for well prepared Mexican cuisine. Our server Adri C served us beautiful plated dishes that were equally tasty. The plating surpassed any I've seen in a Mexican restaurant- simply exceptional. Arrive early to enjoy happy hour margaritas. This restaurant is extremely clean and well worth a visit when in Ormond Beach. Not a lot of signage so it is easy to miss. Thank you Adri for great service and attending to our needs!

Just an update on my previous review. Monarca is a family favorite (both for those of us who live here and for family who visits from out of town!) First, love the decorative monarch butterfly decorations throughout (hence the name, natch!). The service is always great - Sonya, Maria and the rest of the staff will take excellent care of you. My favorite drink is the blue organic margarita - tasty AND pretty. My favorite go-to are the tacos - I've tried the grilled chicken, grilled steak, shrimp and birria - all so good! My favorite is probably the shrimp taco (served in a corn tortilla with fresh avocado, cotija cheese and a cilantro lime mayo). I also love the Maya quesadilla (available with chicken, steak or shrimp) - roasted corn, black beans and more! Hubby's favorites are any of the steak dishes (including the brochetas) and the Santa Fe salad. I will have to add more pics of other dishes going forward.

Delicious Mexican restaurant in this plaza. This location has been so many restaurants and was a Mexican restaurant before as well. Today we had lunch with Jo wait at 1pm. Very nice service and great food. The enchiladas were not swimming in sauce but done just perfect. Definitely a great place to come.

First time at Monarca and I liked it! I ordered the Birria quesadilla which was good and on top of that the portion was huge!

Hands down the best Birria tacos I have ever had. The drink was sooo good! The ceviche had so much flavor. The flautas were crispy and yummy! the service was great! Restaurant is beautiful inside. I will be going back to try more!

It was 90 degrees out and I was done with my errands, so I decided to swing into Monarca for some lunch and most importantly, a Margarita. The Sandia Margarita was made with fresh watermelon and the glass was rimmed with tajin. It was exactly what I needed after melting outside all morning. I made quick work of the birria tacos which were filled with tender beef and melty cheese. The consommé was flavorful and had a healthy amount of fresh cilantro, which I loved. Everyone I interacted with with friendly and my server came to check on me to make sure I was enjoying my meal. My tacos came out super quickly, too. I will certainly be back for another one of those margaritas soon!

Went for lunch and the portions were pretty large for lunch specials! Drinks were also super good, drinks are just a little bit expensive.

We were about 30 people, and everything flowed smoothly from start to finish. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place has real history. This is not a themed restaurant. The decor is authentic, with original 1930s pieces throughout. The Tiffany chandelier immediately stands out, and the bar itself has a story. We were told it came from Cicero and dates back to the Prohibition era when Al Capone ran things. You can actually feel that history in the room, which made the night feel unique and memorable. We started our evening on the Havana Bar patio, which was such a great way to gather everyone before dinner. Chic, relaxed, and energetic without being overwhelming. Our bartender Kristen was awesome and It ended up being the perfect place to both start and end the night. The handcrafted cocktails were excellent. Perfectly balanced and clearly made with care. They do classic cocktails beautifully, but the creative options really stood out. The Sharon-tini and the Double Stop were favorites at our table and paired surprisingly well with the menu. They also have the best espresso martinis! Dinner exceeded expectations, especially for a group this size. I ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly. The tableside garlic butter presentation was a highlight. Melted with a flame right at the table and absolutely delicious. It added a level of experience you do not usually get with group dining. The chocolate crème brûlée was delicious! The live music was the best we have heard in the area. It elevated the entire evening without overpowering conversation, which is rare and appreciated during a corporate dinner. We were genuinely happy to find a restaurant that can handle large corporate groups while still delivering elevated food, service, ambiance, and entertainment. 31 Supper Club feels like a true destination. We will absolutely be back.

Our first night in town, we seemed to be striking out on restaurants that offered more than one or two items gluten free. That is, until I found the menu online for mama foo foo. I can say with confidence that Mama Foo Foo knows how to do gluten free food the right way. Our first visit was for dinner, and the ambiance was on point. Perfectly lit, short wait, cool art, and great music. The waitress was very knowledgeable about gluten free options, and even offered alternatives when she discovered that they were out of gluten free crackers for the burrata and fig. My dinner, the honey glazed scallops with lobster risotto and grilled carrots, was prepared perfectly. The staff was attentive, refilling drinks and water and checking in regularly. Price was very reasonable for the quality of food. A solid five star visit. It was so good in fact that we came back a few days later for brunch to enjoy their signature wagyu smash burger. I opted for the breakfast version (fried egg, avocado and tomato relish toppings) while my husband went with the more traditional lunch version. Again, the waiter was attentive and immediately knew to advise me that the fries were dusted with flour and offered alternatives. The grapefruit dressing on the salad was delish! Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu the next time we are in town.

Everyone just seems so happy here so you can tell that it really enjoy their jobs which makes a huge difference. Having been to the grind over the years, we have certain expectations as to the quality of food and…read moreservice. I want to preface this by saying we went on a very cold day and ate indoors..the pizza was outstanding and the waiter was friendly and engaging..in other words, typical for our experiences there. Prior to this, we even brought friends who hadn't been there before and loved it...now, to our recent experience: We were seated and the waitress seemed as though she wasn't very familiar with the menu and had to check on our requests, each check took a disturbingly long time. When we brought our friends, my gal ordered a hamburger and I asked the waitress if she could have the wagyu, rather than the angus burger, she readily said yes and my gal marveled over the burger...fast forward to the last experience, the waitress said she'd have to order the wagyu as posted and it "wasn't available" as a stand alone order. So my gal settled for the angus burger and again, the wait was a bit long and as we were considering to leave, the waitress showed up, gave us our food and left. the onion rings were cold...literally...they had been out so long that they weren't even warm (our prior experiences the onion rings arrived hot and delicious). Again we waited for our waitress to return and my gal had to ask another waitress if she could get us some hot onion rings. That waitress noted the cold onion rings and brought them back to the kitchen to prove we weren't being unreasonable, which was a greatly appreciated gesture on her part. Very promptly, the "other" waitress brought our onion rings, apologizing profusely...we thanked her and when my gal started into her Caesar salad, it was inedible....soggy, nearly tasteless and resembling a hot spinach salad with soggy lettuce than a crisp Caesar salad....the upside, the second batch of onion rings were up to their usual excellent standard, the burger was good, but not the intensity of flavor their wagyu burger had. If we hadn't been semi-regulars, it is a near certainty we wouldn't go back, but we aren't going to let a single experience unravel years of good experiences.

The restaurant is definitely on the pricier side, so if you're looking for a cheap meal, this isn't the spot. Service was mediocre; I think they could use a little more southern hospitality. That said, the food came out fairly quickly, and our waiter did make sure our waters were always filled. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it also wasn't a 'wow' restaurant for me.
