The ribs were not great , to thin not enough meat to much connected tissue, any ways the rest of the meats were out of this world the sauce at the bottom was to die for savory delicious goodness. Yes all the goodness of the thin peppers and onions wow it was amazing. My wife's fajita taco salad taco salad was a work of art it not only looked great and tasted yummy full of chicken thin slices of onions and peppers another great dish . Really tasty food; not quite getting the iffy reviews here. We get takeout from them all the time and you can pretty much point at the menu and know the food's going to be good. Street style tacos, fajitas, Mexican corn, the steak fries (so delicious!) salads, burritos--all of its is tasty and fresh, all the portions are decently sized, and you can get jamaica! We chose to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Cinco de Mayo. We expected a crowd so we're not surprised by a 30 minute wait. They had an outside DJ which helped pass the time. Once seated there was a long delay in being greeted by our waitress and given the usual chips and salsa. Our drink orders also took longer than normal but once they arrived we were pleased with the quality as usual. Our food was also very good so overall the night wasn't a big disappointment. read more

I told them many times, I wanted happy hour drinks. So if it's not included just let me know, no worries. But instead they charged full price for premium margs... We've been craving Mexican and decided on Cinco de Mayo this evening. We were a party of 6 and were seated immediately. The waiter who greeted us was extremely personable and you could tell he enjoyed his job. He took drink and appetizers orders. I had the jalapeño margarita - it was delicious with just the right amount of spice! We also opted for the obligatory queso and guacamole (add a side of fresh jalapeños to make the quac even better!). For dinner I ordered the tacos al pastor - Mexican style with corn tortillas, onions, cilantro, and a sauce the menu described as a hot sauce. Loved the tacos - didn't care for the sauce. It was more of a tomatillo ... I opted for Cholula. While there are several Mexican places in the area, this definitely ranks among the top two when we have a hankering. read more

Walked in on a Saturday night and found a little party off the highway. They had a little tent up for the drizzle and were pumping live music with salsa dancing for the regulars. It was like being at a bar in Old San Juan! The exterior events were unexpected, but a nice setup for opening the door to the amazing artwork on every wall. Visually, the party continued and kudos on getting up in the lofts to paint all the details. However, it was audible inside for anyone who didn't want to hear the DJ while eating. The service was attentive, but to the point or blunt (he was just a kid). The food was clearly crafted from a labor of love. I had fish tacos that were simple, properly cooked, tender, and not salty. The toppings and the heat were just right for my palate. I would come back just for these. My companion had steak tacos that had chunks of char-grilled skirt steak (with crunchy edges of burnt fat). I always appreciate it when the chef/owner doesn't cut corners on quality. Yes, the steak and fish were better than tacos in most coastal towns. First I must say I go there one to two x's a week,food has always been just ok. Tonight I noticed they charge 3.5% for debit card when I questioned it all of a sudden no speaks english, the MOD was nasty,the bartender was nasty. People when you use your debit card it is cash and against the law to charge for the usage. Fish tacos is so bland and ugly. They need to add some salsa, cabbage or something. More creativity is needed for the fish tacos. Their chili is delicious. The stuffed poblano pepper is good of you add beed to it. The salsa could be better. Seems like they do not roast their tomatoes, garlic, tomatillo or onion for the salsa. What they sent me was a terrible tiny ground beef enchilada.... that they call a burrito. So lame. That with some salsa and chips and a soda was over thirty dollars, delivered by Grubhub. I ordered from them last month. It was the same sad terrible excuse for Mexican food. Any restaurant can have a bad day so I decided to give them another chance. My bad. Husband and I ordered our usual choice the Mexican street tacos Al Pastor our guest had the chicken enchiladas in Mole' sauce. He commented that the Molé was exceptionally tasteful. Call three of us living in Southern California frequented south of the border eating for years and Cinco de Mayo is a very authentic to Mexican cuisine. So when I showed up with my 2 year old daughter in tow to pick up my meal they were blindsided. Cinco de Mayo just opened a few days ago with very good reviews. We decided to go between dinner and lunch to avoid crowds. For opening week they definitely have some kinks to work out with staffing and servers learning the menu/ first time becoming a server. It took sometime for us to get drinks and food but when it arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The Margarita I got was strong but delicious and my wife's 32oz beer was huge!!!! As for the food everything was delicious, the fajita was for one but had enough to easily split and for my burrito it was big enough to split also. It definitely took time to receive our orders but it was worth the wait. Hopefully they work out the small issues and continue to be this delicious. read more

It was my first time coming here and the atmosphere and great indoor visual appeal matched the excellent food and service. The prices are very reasonable and I won't go to any other Mexican restaurant in Palm Coast except this one. Dinner combos $10.99 are plentiful when the competition mostly charges $14-$18 per dish. Usually everything is good but this restaurant has been going downhill! Service is always great. I ordered a cheese pablano chili relleno and Mexican street corn. BOTH were COLD; not even temperature throughout. 2 warm bites then COLD throughout! Didn't mention it because no one around to tell-didn't ask how food was! I don't know how to rate this. Service is really nice. I love the staff. The restaurant is clean and spotless. For Palm Coast, the Mexican food is on the better end. It is not San Diego grade food. Mexican food in Palm Coast reminds me of Mexican food in Minnesota back in the 90's. Cinco de Mayo is better than Chichis or Chili's. But it's in that category. I give 3 stars, because I grew up eating homemade Mexican food and knowing the good restaurants. But, when I am craving my food.. it's ok and it does the job. As someone living locally, I end up going here often because I know what to expect and it's a crowd pleaser for those that didn't grow up on Mexican. Don't order the fish tacos. Seriously, don't do it. The Diablo shrimp is spicy, actually spicy. I've had the chimichanga subbed with carne asada. The rice and refried beans are good. My favorite Mexican restaurant by far! I travel from port Orange just for this place and have visited more than 10 times it's so good! The staff is super friendly and always taking great care of us. The drinks are amazing! So many varieties and flavors and love their $4 hours margarita specials. I always order the lengua tacos (cow tongue), they are the most tender, flavorful lengua tacos I've ever had. They are huge tacos too, served with cilantro and pickled onions. Everything is so fresh and hot and tastes great. The chips and salsa is always a great start. My boyfriend and I go once a week if we're able we love it so much. Food was great! The steak in my Chimichanga was so tasty, tender (cut small). My hubby had enchiladas with shredded beef and it was very good. Our waitress was friendly and wanted us to be comfortable and happy. I was disappointed with the the atmosphere. As most Mexican restaurants the decor is over the top. Only one wall painted. And the other wall had a lighted sign that they can't use for there is no outlet. Please just take it down and put up a painting - it would make it all so much better!
