Solid gym with a good variety of equipment and amenities. The facility is generally clean and well maintained, with plenty of machines, free weights, and space for different types of workouts. They also offer group classes and functional training areas, which is a nice plus. The pool area could definitely use some improvement -- adding lights in the water would make it feel much more welcoming. At the moment it's quite dark and has a slightly uninviting vibe. Some equipment and certain areas of the gym also feel a bit outdated. The changing rooms are well done and the lockers are quite sleek. Staff are generally friendly and helpful when needed, and parking is convenient with a large lot right outside. Like most LA Fitness locations, it can get busy during peak hours (early mornings and after 4:30 pm), especially around popular machines. read more

This gym or should I say staff is a joke. Got a membership thru my insurance company so it's not coming out of my pocket but got shabby treatment once in person and again on the phone. I was living in my van for about a month until I found a more stable arrangement. Showed up probably sweaty and no wasn't in a 3 piece suit to take a shower. Hello nothing in the rules that says you can't take a shower without working out if you're a member. This twit at the front desk talking to some broad and I ask him which way to shower. He looks me up and down and asks did I check in and I answered in the affirmative as I had scanned code on the app. Sorry pal were you expecting Donald Trump? Anyway then I couldn't get back on app even though I save my password to Google password manager. So I call to get a code as instructed. Guy gave me over phone but no pen so I don't write it down say I'll call again. Second time I get a song and dance about well next time you come in. Really are you that lazy you can't do it on phone.?Are you in the restroom stall whacking off to a picture of Marilyn Monroe,may she rest in peace? So I say getting hot I won't ever be back. I contact CS and she does a three way call ( bet that smuck answering phone likes 3 ways) and says I wish to disenroll. I give this gym a 3 of 5 starts because it's a great gym. All the equipment seems to work or majority of it does & it's also a clean GYM! The machines, weights, and groupX room all seem to be well kept. Now lets talk about this locker room. It smells horrible. Like really really really bad. All the men go there after their workout or the sauna and the carpet is holding gallons of sweat. I'm not sure what needs to be done other than pulling up the carpet & adding tile. Carpet "looks" great but smells horrible. Facility is never really busy. Very spacious and enough equipment to not feel like u have to wait to has a machine. read more

I joined LA fitness on July 2nd of this year. My first visit was on July 7th for water aerobics. This was the only reason I joined the gym because I needed water therapy for my knee. After attending the class, I realized there were no offerings for evening classes as had been offered in the past. When I asked about the possibility of evening classes, I was advised to contact corporate to see if there is something that could be done. I was told at the gym they did not make the decisions. I called corporate immediately and inquired about additional classes being offered at the gym. I was advised at that time that it was up to the gym manager to schedule those classes, but was offered to change my membership to a different location that offered classes in the evening. Because this did not fit my schedule and the fact the alternate gym wasn't close to me, I made the decision to cancel my membership on July 14th. I only attended the gym once. When I canceled the membership I was advised that everything was done and I wouldn't be charged anything additional. I was also advised that I could actually use my membership until August 1st. I only went once and didn't use the gym any more. On July 28th I was charging an annual fee. I immediately called the gym to inquire about the fee and asked why was I charged. The young man who answered the phone advised me that I should not have been charged because I canceled my membership. He however, couldn't credit my account but for me to call corporate and corporate could do it for me. I spoke with Michael in corporate, who advised me that my money would not be returned as I signed a contract at the gym. If I wanted my money back, I could dispute it with my bank. I was very upset to hear this and I asked to speak to a manager. I was advised that there was nobody else that I could talk to and advised to dispute it with my bank. I asked again to speak with someone else again I was refused and was directed yet again to dispute it with my bank. Not only could nothing be done for me. I was advised that I should've read the contract. That is absolutely correct. I should have read the contract, but who does that?? I called a second time to speak to an agent name Javier who advised me that there was nothing he could do. At that time I asked for the corporate office number, a corporate address or a corporate email. I was advised there was nothing they could be given to me in that nature. I asked for Javier's manager once again, saying that he was the manager and he had nobody over him. I explained that I have been in customer service for over 30 years. Everybody has a manager unless you are the owner. I went through all of this for $63.87. I asked again to let me speak to someone else. Instead he hung up on me and I was presented with a one question survey Rating them on a scale of 1-3; 3 being the worst. I gave it a 3 and my call was disconnected. I had my friend on the line who witnessed the entire conversation and we were both shocked at the type of service we were provided. I called the local gym and spoke to the manager, who although he was not able to credit my account as he would have liked to. He did provide me with the corporate address that I had asked Javier for. If you are thinking about joining LA fitness don't do it. There are many other gyms out there that don't require a contract for membership. LA fitness is also one of the higher price gyms but I didn't mind because I needed water therapy. How can you be charged for a service that you don't have, only used one time and only had for less than two weeks? Customer service at a corporate level is horrendous! I'm going on every social media platform, giving horrible reviews and contacting the better business bureau. I just want my money back!! read more

My only issues are that: the treadmills are old and falling apart. They cave inward to the middle which jacks my knees up, have zero padding, and the plastic is broken around them so they all make this loud noise when people run; and The sauna never goes over 140. They do a good job cleaning, and there's always a machine or weights available and everyone is nice. The treadmills are the biggest issue. I hate running here and have stopped almost entirely. If they replaced all of them, I'd give this place 5 stars. read more

There are roaches everywhere in the woman's shower. I'm not talking about just seeing 1 I saw at least 10 walking into the shower and then really looked at the mat they have down. The roaches are just hanging out in there. It takes nothing to go to Home Depot and buy stuff to spray to keep them away for 12$. I left the gym paranoid I may take a roach home. read more

LA Fitness, I was hard on your before with my 3 star review... I think you deserve this updated one! I recently again became a member of this gym since it's closest to my house. Here's all the great things about it: varied and affordable membership plans, clean equipment and well kept space, great pool and spa and saunas, basketball court, tons of treadmills (I never have to wait for one), lots of classes like zumba, spin, yoga, body pump, etc. that do not cost extra, when there isn't a spin class in session you can still go ride the bikes, they have rowing machines, the staff is kind and helpful, there's a juice bar that sells smoothies and protein shakes and snacks and anything you might have forgotten (like a padlock for the locker room). While some of the equipment seems to be a bit rundown and there are often at least a few signs that say "out of order" on some machines, I can't complain too much about this LA Fitness -- I always leave happy that I went and I haven't had any troubles (besides wanting to buy a smoothie once when the shop was closed). read more

I enjoy this gym. I had to change gyms because the 24 fitness location I went to shut down. Everything is very clean and in good working order. They have two floors which is great! There is a pool, hot tub, multiple classrooms, cardio area, basketball and weights area. The staff is friendly and say hello and goodbye which I definitely enjoy. I hate when you walk into a place and the people just ignore you. The price is good for what you get. The only downside here is that there are not too many fitness classes. I would like to see more yoga and spinning classes available. read more

I started my membership here and went for a little over 3 months, but found a better location because this one is so gross even for a public gym. The machines are so rusted you'll feel like you need a tetanus shot, the woman's bathroom is so disgusting you'll feel like you need to go get antibiotics. I'm so sorry, but it's horrible. The bathroom always has stalls out of order that never seem to get fixed and the remaining stalls are missing locks or can't reach the lock, the equipment is also always "scheduled for maintenance" but they never seem to get fixed either. I'm all for building up the immune system, but damn. read more

You guys are the absolute worst. I will gladly drive the extra 5 min to go to a gym with more quality. Yesterday i was wrapping up my workout with Abs on the stability ball. After my first set a trainer came and took my ball and the one next to it. I said "hey I'm still using that." He replied "i need, it I'm working" He then proceeds to collect the other 2 stability balls in the other ab area to use on his 1 client. What kind of Gym etiquette is that? If personal trainees take priority over other members you should have advised that at sign up. This is the main reason your gym will always be mediocre. For that, I'm out! read more

Place looks nice. Don't be fooled, machines are not maintained. More than half the treadmills skip, 3 out of 4 matrix stair masters currently down. Spa and sauna down often. Gym just shut down for a month for repairs and they didn't refund members money, they said you can go to other fatalities. Its not the high end facility it appears to be. read more

I've been a member at this club for a really long time. They are starting to finally update it like the surrounding locations. The entrance looks better than before, and they finally have replaced the carpet out of the dressing rooms with tile. I wasn't sure if this is a new rule or not, but apparently you can now take weight into the sauna. So while you're sitting in there trying to relax after a hard workout, you can always count on somebody to be huffing/puffing and clinking those metal weights together. If you're looking to do any type of cardio this place is not for you. All of the cardio machines (I promise you when I say "all" I'm not exaggerating) are rusted. Most treadmills are broken on the plastic area by the belt and as soon as you go over 4 miles per hour they sound like they're going to break. The $10 gyms have better cardio machines. It's like this is the dump site for all of LA Fitness' damaged machines. read more

Like the LA Fitness layout and the equipment. They have pretty good classes as well. The employees and trainers are friendly enough. There's not a crazy wait to get to a machine, which I like. It's also not intimidating to enter across the invisible line to the free weights. You know how some gyms give you that feeling? There's several women working out there as well. The smoothie/snack area has tons of stuff... there may be too many items actually as now I cannot even see the counter or the employees that work in that area. Pretty much get Wheatgrass every time I go. Oddly yum with an OJ chaser. Why only three stars? Ok peeps, y'all have got to clean more. From the upstairs machines that you can see dried sweat to the workout area in general to the water fountains... Have you really looked at them? There's always something scheduled for maintenance too... gives an impression that things are old and dirty. No good. Still recommend going just wipe stuff down before you use it. read more

This review is for my frustration at the skeezy sales tactics of the manager. I was misinformed and I don't appreciate it. I came into this location recently to look into membership prices, but let him know that I would be moving to Grapevine in 1 month. I wanted to know if there are any locations close by and that I was interested in the membership that was valid at any location across the state. He showed me the two clubs near me and gave me the prices. I wrote them down and thought about it and came back 2 days later to sign up. I worked with a different person this time. She was very sweet, but she was also new. Anyway, I moved and now go to the one closest to me and looked at my bank account and noticed I was being charged $5.41 multiple times. It turns out that this is a "signature" location that is not included in my membership. It's an extra $5 +tax every time I go. This should have been told to me by the manager when presenting prices. He was even the one who showed me the location that would be close to me. Of course he knew it was a signature location. But he wanted me to sign up. This is bad practice and I'm pissed. Regarding the equipment and utilization: the equipment is decent. Sanitation could be improved though. I never see anyone wiping down anything. Some of the benches have sweat stains the circle shape of a head (probably from never being cleaned). There have also been a couple instances where the equipment smelled bad. That grosses me out. With or without the coronavirus spread going on right now. Utilization is pretty light here. Plenty of equipment avl and you can easily superset and use a couple different machines without impeding on anyone else's workout. read more

If you workout in the free weights it's always crowded. Too much area is devoted to cardio and not enough to the weight area.

Trying this place out with the husband. I like the mix of classes. Disappointing that the treadmills sound like they are about to fall apart when you run on them. I don't feel safe going in the evening right now because the lights in the parking lot don't work. It's too dark. This is something that can make us choose to cancel since we would mostly be going after hours. The guy that signed us up was really nice. Great customer service. First off, what a terrible, cheesy name. It reminds me of the hair gel from the early 90s "LA Looks". And what exactly is "LA Fitness"? Being an anorexic vegetarian and roller-blading the boardwalk? I don't get it. Regardless, the gym is huge, the classes are tough and plentiful, and the prices aren't bad. Here is a break down of my membership because, let's be honest, that's what people want to know. - We can only go to this location. Who cares, though? I rarely (if ever) travel and when I do I am on vacation or too busy to work out. - No sign up fee. - $60 a month for my wife and I, unlimited use of classes and such. And today I took a cycle class and it kicked my butt up and down and all around for a solid hour. Ouch. read more

My husband and I have a membership here just because is the only gym near to our house that has a pool... but this place is HORRIBLE! Someone has stolen my husband's credit cards from his locker (which was locked) TWICE - and nothing was done by the gym or the local police. Also, the treadmills are old, the bathrooms are super dirty and the personal trainer section has taken all the smaller weights, yoga balls, etc. The people who work at the gym are kind but this doesn't offset all the negatives. The gym has all the equipment you could ever need including: swimming pool, locker rooms, saunas, racquetball courts, basketball court, machine weights, cardio section, ab sections, and free weights. For all of the equipment they have it kind of seems like they jam it all into a confined area. When the gym is relatively empty it appears as if there is a lot of space, but every day around 5 when the work rush gets in, you quickly realize that the layout is actually fairly cluttered. I have visited a few other LA Fitness gyms around the area and this one has to be one of the smaller locations. It is hard to walk around the free weight area without stumbling into another person or persons trying to get to the weight rack also. The free weight benches are too close to the weight rack and too closely spaced together which creates some problems. The main highlights of the gym - friendly staff that greets you and scans your ID quickly, very clean equipment that is wiped down often, wide variety of exercise and class options. I go to this gym mostly out of convenience in location. There is not anything glaringly wrong with it but not my favorite. read more

Hate having to talk down any gym because well it's a gym and it seems like it should be really easy to not mess up. Have been a member at LA for 4+ years now, and this one takes the cake as the worst location I've been to. Has a ton of 'potential' and should be so much better with the space they have available. Biggest problem is their hours, and general lack of the employees even pretending to enjoy their work or care about the gym or it's members. They appear to have no problem opening up late (the gym opens later than most gyms I've ever been been to at 5) but it's a miracle to see them actually be there on time. But don't worry they're excited to get you out of there and start shutting the lights off 15 minutes prior to closing. 8pm on weekends? Know it's a company wide thing but it's hard to justify. I'm not sure if it's something in the air in the gym but literally 90% of the employees are unapproachable and appear to think their 's... doesn't stink', and are very good at projecting that kind of vibe. Good on the few girls that do work there putting the guys to shame as far as attempting to care. It's a gym, literally 100% of the people working out there are attempting to better themselves, and yet a good majority of the guys working there still 'appear' to think they're better than the members who pay decent money to be there. If there was a 'resting b.... face' term for guys it could be used multiple times at this place from the managers to the male 'trainers' they have there. Lighten up, you work at a gym. They could and should be happy to have the potential to help the members become better, because that's what most people who go to gyms do, but it just doesn't happen. Just disappointing because there are some really good LA's out there, this just isn't one of them. Buying a 'day pass' isn't worth it for those coming from out of town, I'd seriously put the Planet Fitness or Anytime Fitness in the area well above this place. Equipment is decent at best, appears to be no updated equipment in a couple years, and if there's weights out of place go ahead and move them yourself. Also, for $10 a month you can get a membership at Fitness Nation maybe 3 miles away from this place. Night and day difference as far as how a gym could be ran. read more

I'm a gym junky i love my time I spend at the gym! I go to 5 different LA fitness this one by far is the worst! They finally made some updated but the place is still horrible! I would never take a shower it just looks disgusting! i also attend Lite time fitness and this gym comes no where close! Wheeler likes to parade around the gym moaning and screaming, and when comment is made(referred to as a clown)his fragile ego leads him to intimidate both employee and gym attendee. And when intimidation didnt work threat to revoke a membership(mind you I was on day pass hardly relevant). So to wrap up when all else fails he begins to give me a lecture about how some lessons are hard learned in life. I hear a lot of folks complaining about their gym, people at the gym, etc. I've been lifting at this LA Fitness location for over a year and it has only been great. I mean, I'm not sure how a gym can be truly amazing. It serves a simple purpose, and this LA Fitness gets the job done. They keep it very clean, there aren't a lot of yahoos in attendance, tons of machines, racks, and benches so rush hour isn't wait-around-for-equipment hour. The classes are nice, lots of options, and the pool is really great for those of us who like to swim for fitness. All around a nice location right off the highway. I also am glad Arlington PD spends a lot of time hanging in the parking lot keeping my car safe, although I'm sure the real motive is to catch people flying down road to six flags! read more

The worst cancellation policy I've heard off. You can't cancel over the phone, if you can't go to the location they make you print a former and mail it(really? Mail it? Get up to speed with the new technology), meanwhile you are still getting billed. This should be illegal. I have signed up with them multiple times because it's convinient, but they make it really difficult. This is a pretty nice LA Fitness location. They have all the amenities including a smoothie bar, pool, and racquetball courts. Their cardio area is upstairs with plenty of machines. They have a nice selection of classes with one of my favorites bring Kickbox Cardio with Jessica B. on Wednesday. The locker rooms are always clean as are the bathrooms. It's located in a nice spot in the metroplex: right off I-30 in Arlington. Staff are pretty friendly...not notably nicer or ruder than any other location. read more

This is by far the.worst experience i ever had joining a Gym. I came for the orientation and tried to get a week for free to see if i like the environment, got turned down and instead convinced to sign in for a contract. Did got a second key chain for 2 friends, brought my wife 1 time and later found out that they charged my card for 2 initiation fees $79 each plus 35 month for 2 people when i never signed a contract for the wife. Thieves and the management really awful at customer service. Never again. read more
