The previous location was already in a run-down part of Arlington, and this one isn't much of an improvement. On top of that, I was VERY disappointed to hear they will no longer have a kids club at the new location. I never received a heads-up or saw any posts mentioning this, and as a parent, that would have been nice to know at the VERY least. If you didn't like the previous location, you will definitely not like this one. The owner also has a temper, which made the whole experience even more frustrating. I've been a loyal customer for years, and now I have to go look elsewhere for a local gym.

The equipment is all very new and perfect for the college student! a place to put your books, a TV to watch, music to listen to all while running on a treadmill, or walking up 89 flights of stairs on the stair master! The track is 3 lanes and wide enough for people to walk and run 9 laps for a mile! Me and my roommate try to come as often as possible, and we love the facility here. A lot better than LA fitness or 24 hour fitness. The gym is vast and there are always enough machines to use. They also have rock climbing, billiards, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, ping pong tables, outdoor sand volleyball court and even an indoor and outdoor pool! There is so many fun and creative ways to workout here, and I'm never disappointed. It does get busy at times (as expected) the most busiest times are at the beginning of the semester and around 7ish or so (when everyone gets out of class) even though it's crowded, there is always something to workout on. There is just so much equipment and so much resources. I also took the group classes with my roommate it was $30 for a whole semester of group classes (yoga, piloxing, zumba, hip-hop cardio, total body pump, etc.) We absolutely loved the classes and the teachers of the class were fun and lively. The MAC is also a great place to study! If you're an extrovert (like me), this is a perfect place to study. The booths are nice and spacious, but they are hard to get (because everyone wants one) they also have many tables and TVs and a lot of people which is always fun on my study break when I want to people watch ._. There are also a lot of computers for you to work/study and even print things. UTA was certainly looking out for the best interest of their students when building the MAC. Love it here and always coming back!

In the past this was a great place with great upper management that was understanding and willing you work with you because they wanted what's best for you. Little did I know they would keep my card on file and auto charge it without my personal knowledge for another year. I would have never agreed to keep my card on file for a simple one time gift. Upper management is not willing to work with me at all even though 2 different employees said it would be a simple fix and its wild to see their lack of empathy for the simple fact that I've been apart of this gym from 2010-2013 (break for college) and 2017-yesterday. I've paid for upgrades and private trainings as well as group classes. I've stayed loyal to this location but clearly keeping customers is not a priority. Can't believe they will be acquiring the Grand Prairie location that's shutting down with how awful and insensitive he is because proximity of location will keep people. Take your money elsewhere, you're only a $$$ to him at this location. An upper level managers should know how to de-escalate and not add fuel to the fire. *Update Chris the upper management doesn't know his company's policies at all and said that calling them wouldn't give me any different outcomes. His lack of empathy while working in a public facing job is baffling. You show up, pay their ever-increasing fees, and the amenities you came for are just... unavailable. And suddendlty the hot top ( when is working) is closed at sunset... since when? I've complained to the front desk multiple times, and absolutely nothing changes. It feels like they don't fix things until people blast it publicly. For a gym this expensive, this level of upkeep and communication is ridiculous.

The atmosphere is much better and you can tell people take their workout seriously. It is smaller and there's some equipment I miss, but overall its a better gym. Staff seems friendly and I see them clean quite a bit. Don't really ever have to wait for a rack as they have 2 platform half racks and another one in a different area that has a landmine. The machines I've used feel pretty smooth and I notice pretty much everyone wipes them down when they're done. They have 3 bench press stations that are pretty sweet! You can change the angle in increments of 5% on decline and incline. Something I also really like is they have a nice standing and seated calf machine. Also a pretty good variety of attachments for the pulley machines. Wish they had heavier dumbbells though, as I can't do DB rows with straps anymore unless I wanna do like 40+ reps. I know that sounds crazy, but when you strap up you'd be surprised how much you're limiting your back gainz yo. But they have a landmine where you can load the weight up and do the same type of row. Oh and if you know what a glute ham raise is they have it! I love that thing and have been using it twice a week and am still getting stronger at it. They have a cool turf area in the back where you can do a variety of things, but unfortunately all it can take is 1 person in the area and you can no longer drag the sled/tire around or do farmer walks which are things I really like to do. Also, I honestly feel kind of bad when I do it because I feel like I'm hogging the area. If there was just a little more square feet it would be absolutely perfect. The only really legit complaint I have is the water temperature is not consistent in the showers(its usually cold or lukewarm). If that could be fixed that would be great. Cold water is fine now, but its pretty miserable once you get to the winter time. Even with a few things I don't like I highly recommend this gym and think that you will really like it too!

Recently, I discovered five separate unauthorized attempts to draft $480.32 from my checking account. Fortunately, my card was locked, preventing a massive financial loss. When I called the Arlington branch to get clarification on why this was happening, an employee named Kennedy was completely unable to explain the numbers. She became overwhelmed, stating it was "too many numbers for her to keep up with" and that she couldn't view two accounts at the same time. When I politely requested to speak to a manager or another team member in her office who could calmly look at the accounts and assist me, Kennedy grew audibly frustrated, denied my request, and abruptly hung up on me. She didn't even provide the contact info where I was supposed to send my bank screenshots. As a Customer Service Manager myself with over 10 years of experience, hanging up on a customer dealing with severe, unauthorized billing issues is entirely unacceptable. Colaw Fitness heavily promotes itself as a Christian-based company that glorifies God, but the hostile, low-empathy behavior displayed today at this branch is the exact opposite of those values. I am demanding a prompt response from the upper management team to explain these five unauthorized $480.32 draft attempts and confirm my billing is secure. Until then, I strongly advise ALL members to watch their bank statements closely.

When I noticed the error, I immediately called customer service. They claimed they would "investigate," but two months and countless follow-up calls later, I'm still being told there's "no error on their end." Meanwhile, I kept getting billed in full. That excuse is unacceptable. If there truly were no error, I should have been told right away, not dragged along for months while they continued taking my money. To make matters worse, Colaw insists on continuing to charge my card unless I complete an "end of contract" form--something not even accessible on their website. They admitted I'd have to request it by email. This is a deliberate barrier designed to make it harder for members to leave, and it's shady business practice at best. The worst part? A customer service representative actually told me I could "just go somewhere else." How awful is that? That's how they treat loyal, paying members who have been driving 20 minutes each day to support their gym. Absolutely unacceptable. What's most disappointing is that this gym brands itself as being built on Christian values and morals. Yet their management refuses to take any accountability, refuses to meet loyal members halfway, and acts as if they're always right. Companies make mistakes--it happens.
