I can't stand half the people working there. Can't even give a welcoming nodd to guests, but instead faces completely repellant. I just to come and work out, not see people like they are just disgusted by the simple site of my presence. I wanted to walk right back out and go back home. I received a call from a trainer asking me to consider switching locations since I often visit both the Arbutus and Towson gyms. I decided to check this one out. It's a nice facility, but the location is farther than I'd like. During peak hours it was extremely crowded--I waited 45 minutes just to use one machine, rotating through others in the meantime. Many of the guys seemed to be socializing more than working out. I was also disappointed to find the sauna out of order, since that's one of my main reasons for joining. I especially prefer rock saunas over infrared because I sweat more in them and already have an infrared at home. Between the wait times and the sauna situation, I'm not sure I'll be returning to this location. read more

I find this facility great to work out in. The place is very clean and the staff is friendly. The equipment is good and is good. If any machine goes down , it is promtly fixed and back in service. Cancellation of your membership is far too difficult. I was traveling for work at the hospital and thought this would be really convenient. When I signed up I told them it would only be for a short while. They assured me that cancellation was easy. My last week in town I told them that I needed to cancel and thought everything was fine, only to realize months later that I had not been cancelled and charged monthly. When you call the location they say it can only be cancelled in person but they will eventually give you a different number to call. That number tells you that you can only cancel online. The back and forth is endless because online there wasn't the option to cancel. And when I asked for the extra months that I had not visited after it should have been cancelled be refunded they said it wasn't possible. If you cancel your membership from this location ensure that you have copies of documents for the cancellation because the man I spoke to said it would be cancelled and I wouldn't get charged. read more

WOW managers of this place are complete scammers. I (stupidly) bought a membership before the gym was completed, and I was charged over $100 initiation fee that was supposed to be 100% refundable. I asked for my money back during COVID b/c I lost my job and needed the money back, but they didn't return any of my calls. Now, they have the AUDACITY to start charging me a monthly fee even though I've never set foot in the gym?? I called up, and they said they did that as a courtesy? Umm, what? These guys are scum-of-the-earth scammers, especially general manager "Donnie" if he still works there. Apparently he's also creepy towards women (two of my coworkers went in once to check out the gym). Pretty stupid business move if you ask me--I work at Johns Hopkins Hospital right next door, and I'm telling everyone not to sign up with these losers. read more

Be warned that this gym has no respect for member privacy and they have been notified of this issue several times by multiple members. Every morning there has been a problem with female employees being in the men's locker room and this is something that needs to be eliminated. The ladies that the gym hired to clean are in there every morning and today this took an even worse turn when I witnessed the female employee enter the locker room and walk straight past a naked man. This is unacceptable on so many levels including violating the privacy of the men in the locker room and creating a potential legal issue of requiring female employees to enter a men's locker room to be exposed to something they might not necessarily want to see. Occasionally there is a warning sign placed in front of the entrance to the men's locker room warning that there are women working in the locker room however this does not solve the problem. When I entered the locker room this morning there was no sign. I used the pool and when I returned to the locker room there was a sign at the entrance from the gym side but not at the pool side however this is irrelevant since the female employee must have just placed the sign and walked right in catching that other member off guard and in a state of undress. Also, members pay to have full access to all parts of the gym and should not have to limit the use of the locker rooms, especially people who are trying to have an early morning workout before getting ready to go to their respective jobs, when this is completely avoidable. The following needs to happen. No female employees should be in the men's locker room during operating hours. If need be, you should hire a man to clean the locker room or assign one of the male staff to do so. If a male employee isn't available to do this then the locker room should be cleaned before or after operating hours. If a male staff member walked into the women's locker room the uproar would be astronomical. Why should it be any different the other way around? read more

The gym itself is clean and the equipment is in good condition. I would not recommend the PT though. The turn over rate for their trainers is absolutely horrid. Was a waste of a lot of money and time. I could never get a good workout plan going. There availability was terrible and other times I was training with other people at the same time. The trainers were distracted and wouldn't pay attention. read more

Not sure why that is happening because I experienced the same thing yesterday (8/3/21) and this is a huge issue for me as well. I went there JUST for the infrared and it was unavailable that day and they are potentially changing the type of sauna.

Great place for a regular workout since it's clean and great staff, but if you are like me who likes to use the sauna afterwards I don't recommend it. The sauna has a sign that says it's kept at 180 but barely makes it to 130 degrees. Asked the staff and staff said that they can't change it. Just the manager and to speak to Stephanie. The first time I used the free fitness pass to see if this place was right for me, because at the moment I already have a plan with Planet Fitness but really wanted to change fitness because I wanted to use the pool! 1. LA FITNESS will lose a lot of money because their manager Victor Rodriguez is NOT a CUSTOMER minded person. He is not interested in attracting a person and is NOT ABLE to argue the pros and cons of LA fitness. 2. The manager is a completely ILLITERATE person, he couldn't explain to me for the first time what the difference between the plans is, how they differ from each other, so I had to go online to find what I need there. I'M JUST SHOCKED HOW SUCH ILLITERATE PERSON CAN BE A MANAGER? 3. It took me a long time to decide which subscription plan to choose, about 7 days, and after I came for the second time, to ask a couple of questions to make decisions, he began to judge me and get personal. Manager Victor Rodriguez CANNOT HOLD THIS POSITION FURTHER! He moved to the personal that affected my feelings and the interests of my family! 4. Manager Victor Rodriguez is a REAL RACIST! - probably because I am white! After all that I heard from him, I was about to leave, and when I got up from the table and went towards the exit, he shouted and said: "We don't need someone like you!", Of course, after such words, I think that everyone just doesn't want to come here again! . yesterday there was a crazy incident i didn't complain right then and there bcuz I didn't know if the guy was watching me and would hurt me if I told. so at the sauna this guy starts to take off his clothes and starts to jack off in the room no was the only one there. was mad uncomfortable and left. I complained today to the manager and he was very helpful at first wanted me to come in and point the guy out through the membership ID check ins. to get him out revoked then an hour later I get a call from another mangwr saying I'm sorry what happened but I'm order to do anything I myself would have to go to the police and file a report. and then afterwards the police could get the checkins from that day to point him out. like wtf. you're the manager and this is a serious problem. we pay alot of money just to go here with a bunch of perverts??? read more

I am looking to get in contact with a manager. When I asked the desk for the name of the manager in order to file a complaint I was told there was no manager so I couldn't file a complaint. If this wasn't the only gym near me I'd cancel my membership right now. If you have kids don't even bother asking the staff questions because they'll give you an attitude and hang up on you over simple questions regarding your children's safety. And now apparently I have to hunt down a manager because their immature staff won't put me in contact with one to file a complaint. read more

Awful management and communication. I was told by the personal training sales rep that I could cancel my personal training at any time. Due to me moving out of state, I needed to cancel. When it came time to cancel my membership, it took weeks of getting in contact with any sort of manager. They charged me $1,400 to buy out my contract, despite being told I would be able to cancel without a fee. the personal training staff are inconsistent and not professional either. There is a clear lack of structure and professionalism that runs through this company. read more
