About six months ago I posted a review about a lot of the equipment being out of service for months at a time. Here's an example .. these stair masters have been out of service for months. When will they be fixed? They are down often when do you all determine to replacer them?

Typically how empty the gym is when I go after 7pm. Nice.

Lowering my rating. Beware of rude personal trainers and members. I am a hoop dancer, and the group classes room is the perfect practice space for me with the high ceilings and dance floor surface I lack at my current residence. LA Fitnesses allow members to utilize the space whenever there are no classes scheduled. This is a huge part of the reason I stay a member here. Well recently, at this location only, I find myself in the room alone when other members come in with boom boxes (or the modern version) or remove the headphones from their audio equipment and loudly blast urban tunes into the room. Besides the fact that I don't enjoy that type of music, the lyrics often contain vulgar language and degrading messages. Worse, the volume penetrates through my own headphones (I use my iPhone for music with nice Klipsch headphones that usually block out excess noise). It completely interferes with my own session since I move with the flow of my music. Mostly is just plain rude. If I did that with my own trance, classical, Arabic or rock music, certainly people would complain. I would never force my music on others workouts though. Then yesterday, I'm in the room and a trainer comes in and BLAST at ear damaging volumes some hideous music and didn't even think to say something to the others in there first. He was only training one client too. They could have used a significant lower volume. Everyone left. I asked him why the music had to be so loud and he at first acted like I shouldn't be in the room anyway. Then when I angrily stalked off, he lowered the volume a teensy bit. I tried to stay in good spirit but the awful noise was still too loud and I couldn't hear my own headphones at the loudest volume setting. So I just left. I would actively complain, but thankfully this will no longer be my home gym in a few weeks. PS Bowie - not everyone likes excessively loud, rubbish rap.

Although the facility appears much larger in the website photos and videos, it was smaller than expected. However, I was really excited about the experience. Prior to the free class, the staff member provided a comprehensive tour of the facility that included information about the benefits of infrared technology and fitness. The keyless entry location features 24/7 accessibility. As for the workouts, each workout station includes virtual instruction. My favorite was the cycling station. The rooms are compact and blazingly hot, but heat-adjustable. For this reason, I could not imagine being in the enclosed compartments with two other people. The facility not only features the HIIT workouts, hot-cycle, hot-thunder, and hot-blast, but also Isometric workouts such as hot-iso, hot-pilates, and hot-yoga. There is also a small workout area in the back featuring free weights. Smith machine and TRX bands. There are two bathrooms featuring glass showers. They also feature brand merchandise at the front. Overall, the location was clean. The workout rooms were clean, and the bathrooms were clean and well-stocked. Again, I think it is an interesting concept with some amazing results and benefit claims.

They offer 24/7 access which is also great. Maury took care of me for my complimentary class. I took the Hot Barre None. It was a good 30 min session. It's nice and clean in there as well which is what I love the most since Saunas are involved. It doesn't smell sweaty or anything. I love that they also have a weight area if you want to do some strength training. The membership price $59 is a steal for unlimited classes. I can't wait to return and try more classes. It's so many to choose from since there are 6 rooms; some have workout machines. The instructors are virtual on the screen. I highly recommend everyone try it out. It is low impact and totally worth it.

After you scan your QR code and walk past the welcome desk you can immediately spot the locker rooms on the left. You walk a little more past the locker rooms and then you see a huge stretching area to prepare for your workout. When I would use the equipment I wouldn't have to walk very far to find paper towels and cleaning spray. Oh and the staff are also friendly. Nice job Planet Fitness Bowie!

1-Star Review Very…read moredisappointed with the way I was treated at this gym. I have been a long-time member and regularly come to this location with my friends and brother. This evening, the Assistant General Manager was extremely rude to me and told me that I would be banned from the location whenever he is working. I was not given a reasonable explanation for this decision. There was one previous incident where I came wearing jeans because I honestly did not know jeans were not allowed for working out. When I was told about the rule, I immediately left and respected the policy. I had no problem following the rules. However, this time I felt like I was being treated unfairly simply because the manager remembered me from that previous situation. I came to work out like I normally do, and the way I was spoken to was completely unnecessary and disrespectful. I understand that gyms have rules, and I have no problem following them. But customers and long-time members should still be treated with basic respect and professionalism. I hope management looks into this situation because I would like to resolve it, but based on this experience, I am extremely disappointed with the customer service.

I decided to give them a peek myself, as I am trying to get back into a regular gym membership. I signed up for a free trial online and literally within a minute or two I received a call, haha. Talk about promptness! When I got a chance later on, I went to the gym to experience it. I love the massage area and I appreciate that they have WiFi -- it's essential when trying to listen to online music and the mobile network isn't always reliable. The layout is straightforward and every section has the disinfectant spray and towels. Their rules are clearly displayed and from the crowd everyone seems to conduct themselves pretty well. The locker room is very clean, and while I didn't use one during my visit, there are plenty to choose from -- even some smaller ones near the front. There are two desks near the front, and each one has hand sanitizer. There's also a dispenser next to the front entrance. I really like that you need to be able to scan in to enter, and you get penalized if you let people tail you. It's my first time entering a gym like that, and it's a nice sense of security. And every member gets a free towel and water bottle to use during their session -- nice! FYI, basic membership does not include the classes (they're $15 each otherwise). I do wish there was more hand sanitizer throughout the entire gym and not just in the front, but otherwise I think the spot is a great deal and worth exploring.

So far it hasn't been crowded weight area. There are quite a few pieces of cardio equipment. All in all, I'd say the gym has all you need. Maybe the equipment isn't new, but it appears to be clean and well maintained. The locker room decor is better than average with glass doors on the showers and shelves and hooks in and around the showers. The recovery zone is very relaxing. Updated 3/1/26. Ok, I've come back to give the whole truth that I was reluctant to share. I was being greedy and didn't want to share, but you guys deserve to know. Workout Anytime uses the very B E S T chair massagers and Hydromassage tables I've tried anywhere. One negative: I saw a man walk out of the sauna literally dripping with sweat. He walked directly to the massage chair and sat down. When he was done, he did not wipe down the equipment. I use the wipes before AND after using the equipment. You might like to too. I have a lot of gym experience, and this Lanham location is a solid choice. I currently belong to several gyms and frankly, Anytime Workout is my preferred gym, over Planet Fitness, the YMCA, and LA Fitness. From what I've seen, Gold's is a joke. The first membership I would drop is LA Fitness. All the employees at this Lanham location are very kind and the clientele is very supportive of other members. They are providing a great community and I'm sure you'll fit right in. I hope this helps with your decision-making process. No matter which gym you join, make sure you FULLY understand their billing and cancellation policies.

There wasn't anyone at the front desk but I overheard an explanation being provided of to someone so I listened in. The space is an open room with cubbies for your belongings and then a front desk area with some retail and a few hi top tables. The class started at 12:10 and is shown on the television. The workout itself is a circuit that gets you to all of the stations including some strength work, cardio and ends with abs. I loved the strength and ab work and the music. Other than that I didn't care for the combination of the television guide, the 4 different types of boxing bags (I prefer the aqua bag) or the bright lights during the workout. The set-up reminded me of orange theory which wasn't for me the few times I tried it. I think 7-8 stations going at once was also too distracting for me.
