She have short grey hair and wear a pair of glass and she have such an horrible attitude when I told her I can't download the APP to check in. By the way her nationality is Caucasian ! This location routinely lets repair and maintenance issues linger for weeks and weeks. For example, it has been more than a month since the downstair water fountain broke. The repair is still "pending." Additionally, the cleanliness in the men's locker area is lacking. The floor is always dirty and trash (paper towels and used water bottles) is always on the floor instead of the trash bin. I have been an LA Fitness member since they opened in Georgia but over the past year, I am increasingly convinced that this gym is not worth it and I no longer encourage people to join. read more

For the price you pay monthly $40.00-49.99 USD, it's a really good deal for the amenities offered! I would have given them zero if possible. All machines break all the time and it will take weeks until they fix them. Don't sign for personal training. They are nice until you sign. They will tell you that you can cancel the contract whenever you want. No question asked. Some arrogant guy will be assigned to you as a trainer. After few sessions , you will definitely decide to cancel. Good Luck. They will tell you to buy out your contract and pay half of the total annual fee. No body will listen you if you tell them that you are told you can cancel the contract anytime . Since they have high turnover , you won't find the associate who convince you to sign for personal trainer. He already got his commission so he does n't care even if you find him. The manager, corporate, or anyone wouldn't help you even if you have evidence. In general, don't go to LA Fitness. Better to go to other local fitness centers. Avoid these crooks!! read more

I've been going here since day 1.The cleanliness of the men's locker room has gone to 1 star. I have been there consecutive days and found the same briefs socks or other clothing items that were left the day/s prior. I certainly don't agree with the way administration rents out one lane of the pool to the British diaper babies swim club. We would be surprised with the results of a before and after fecal matter water test. If I wanted to listen to screaming kids I would work out at the day care center. My wife and I quit planet fitness and started coming here because it is considerably closer to our home. With the price difference between this and planet fitness I would expect it to be kept clean with high quality working machines etc. but it is not. Many of the machines feel old and flimsy and make noises and a lot of it is quite filthy, refer to my pictures. The staff at the front desk don't even look up when you come in the door. They are not 1 bit friendly! There is an Aqua fit instructor on Thursday that is the worst ever. They can't seem to keep good instructors and Aqua fit customers always lose out. read more

So I went to this location for the first time yesterday because it's super close to home. As soon as you walk in, the staff just sets the scanner towards you with no greeting much less eye contact. But whatever, not here to make friends anyway, RIGHT? I was disappointed that they only have one set of the small lockers that you can use. The duluth location has atleast 3 that I know of, so that was disappointing because I had to carry my stuff with me every station I went to. I was also disappointed that they also didn't have the stretch machine thing. That's the SHIT and I walked around everywhere looking for one, but couldn't find it. (If they do have one and my eyes were playing tricks on me, please let me know!) What was nice about this place is the convenience of being so close to home, the stretch area with mats are huge with medicine balls and other items available for use right there. Also, I went right after work and every machine I went to was available! Major plus, as usually other locations are super busy at around 6PM that you have to either wait for the machine or don't really get to use it. read more

I am very disappointed in La fitness in Sugar Hill, I signed up for personal training, which was a mistake. They could not keep trainers. i paid for 4 months of training when there were no trainers so I had 18 sessions unused on my contract when it ended. So, they informed me that I would have to pay 50 dollars a month to use those sessions, on top of my gym membership, and the 200 dollars a month I paid . Then they informed me my membership had been downgraded, it was upgraded when they were having trouble retaining a trainer,I thought it was an act of good faith, but now they tell me it was temporary so I could work with a master trainer.He left, so now they want to put me back with a cert. trainer instead of working with the new master trainer. I spent a lot of money to see very little results. I think this is a terrible way to treat people. read more

This gym is DISGUSTING. It is always filthy, sticky and smelly. They also keep it so hot you feel like you're going to pass out. The paper towel and sanitizer dispensers are constantly empty and the employees just sit there on their phones or talk to each other about sports obnoxiously loud. So unprofessional. I joined LA Fitness for a summer membership when I was home from college. I was so glad LA Fitness made it's way to Sugar Hill since it's only a couple minute drive from my house. The new facility is very nice and very well maintained. Parking is very abundant, all around the gym. They have all the basics that you would need at a gym. They offer group classes starting in the morning to late evening. They offer cardio machines with nice tv screens upstairs and free weights & more machines downstairs. They have a basketball court and lap pool. The locker rooms are filled with big lockers, hairdryers, showers, and a sauna. The customer service here is minimal at best. The front desk people usually just scan your card and then continue to chat among themselves. A smile or hey/hi would be nice. One thing that bothered me was that their WiFi was disrupted and it took almost 2 weeks to get back up. For a gym, I would think that they would get it up faster. Luckily, the gym tv's came in handy. read more

Personal Trainer Chris Toussaint is awesome. I met with him today for my 1st assessment and he was very thorough and knowledgeable. His explanation of how to build lean muscle to burn calories while resting, along with the encouragement he displays, has me excited that I can really reach my goals! Brand spankin' new location right by my house. The "new ness" is really nice; ie having new equipment and facilities. Typical, big gym, minus one star for no hot tubs. I was SO EXCITED when they were building a brand new facility, and so disappointed when they opted to not put in a jacuzzi. Really not quite sure why, since they most definitely have the space for it. I also like how you can park all around the gym, even in the very back, where a lot of LA's don't have that option. I've been going to gyms for the past 40 years. This gym is clean, well equipped , bright and most of the equipment is in good working condition . I really enjoy doing cardio up on the nice upper deck overlooking the club. Perhaps, the biggest plus is the condition of the men's locker room and pool. Very clean, bright and new looking. New year new me! La fitness is my go to gym for my fitness goals, the hours are flexible for the times I want to go to miss the crowds. I tend to go early around 530 in the morning where I get almost all the equipment to myself. However, coming at peak times you'll be fighting people for machines and weights to workout. This gym does the job for my fitness goals and is pretty clean. It's not the best gym I've ever been too but I can't complain. The only cons are that the facility takes their time to fix equipment and water fountains. read more

There's lots of machines spread out and they do have a aerobic area but small for classes and they don't have a dedicated yoga and cycling area. I'm new to Georgia and this gym chain. Not impressed so far with the employees but enjoy the gym itself. The gym is clean and well kept. The staff are aloof and not engaged in the customers. I asked for someone to help me learn the equipment and show me how it works, and I found myself in a 2.5 hour sales pitch. The "personal trainer" that "evaluated" me talked about herself and her book and other clients the entire time then tried to hard sell me into training sessions at the end. Do NOT ask for someone to help show you the equipment, what a waste of time and a horrible way to treat customers. read more

I don't know if he is the manager but a black short guy with a beard who acts bossy all the time ruined my experience here. He literally yelled at a mom because her kid was simply waiting on a couch because kids need to leave the building at 8. I get rules but he interrupted her workout to embarrass her. It wasn't even a dialogue more a harsh severe warning. Disgusted me. Plus I never seen him smile or welcome guests but just shows his authority like he's in secret service. He just strolls around ruining people's vibe and mood. Definitely ruins my mood there. read more

Doesn't have some of the equipment I expected compared to their other locations, just not setup right.

I made the mistake of joining before it opened. Afterwards, I tried to use the machines and could not take the warm temperature. This is especially true upstairs where the treadmills, steppers and bicycles are. Heat rises so this was probably a bad design. I did complain to the staff but was told that the temperature is controlled by Corporate. The facility is nice otherwise. I ended up cancelling my membership. read more

Chris was very patient and knowledgeable with explaining his recommended workout routine for my husband and I to reach our fitness goals. I will definitely be signing up for personal training in the future as part of my graduation present to myself. At this time the group classes will have to do because my priority focus is on my wellness coaching program and home schooling my children. That being said, the 9 minutes of working out and assessment left my upper body pretty sore for a few days and now that it has healed I feel stronger already. I was happy to see my wife and daughter found themselves in a position to where they wanted to workout, exercise and lose weight. It was going good for them on that end until they decided to get a trainer. It started out good for them for a couple of days and then it became a little too much. My daughter is on the basketball team for AAU and her schedule has increased to 3 to 4 times a week and my wife working taking her everywhere that she needs to go because I am on disability. My became stressed out and the working with trainer has became too much and decided she can't do all of this that is on her plate. She decided to stop the trainer and focus on our daughter. They both were so tired that they could not get up to go to work or school. But, here is my problem. She were told she could not get out of her contract because for a year. Let me ask you something, are in this to help people improve their lives or for the money. It's hard enough to deal with this pandemic and now we have to worry about being force to do something we don't to because of money. I understand thaqt this is a business, but what's important great customer service all the way around or a profit. They wan't quitting LA Fitness just the trainer. I hope oneday that would change. The gym is ok, the machines break a lot but I am guessing is due to the volume of members they are getting. It has been getting busier and busier as summer approaches. Is clean and it doesn't smell as bad as other gyms. My concern about this gym is the staff. As I was walking in I notice a STAFF member (tall, bold white guy, might have been a manager) making some uncomplimentary comments about a member that was walking by. Although these comments were not address to me, I felt bullied and mistreated by his low self steam comments towards this member to the other staff member. These situations create a hostile environment to all members that pay their monthly dues on time. This is not acceptable and should not be tolerated by any company that depend on members experience to continue to prosper, specially if that staff member is a supervisor or a staff member with a higher position. As a result of this staff member unprofessional behavior, and before I become the next target to his low self steam comments, I have decided to look into other gyms where members are treated with respect regardless of gender or race. read more
