    Personal training area
    Aston C.

Located in a nice neighborhood. Near to residences in Herndon and Reston equally. Abundant parking even during peak evening hours. Check in process is quick. Front desk staff are nice. Personal trainers are available. You'll find enough equipments during non-peak hours. But during peak hours, expect some wait time for, benches and squat racks (just 3 for the whole gym). Rope extension and handles are just enough to get by during these hours. One good thing about LA, they have fixed the benches on floor in a designated area so there's no reason to find one. The worst part is cleanliness, there are always hair and debris along these benches. Also, only handful people rack their weights back in their allocated location. Never seen so many undisciplined individuals in a single location. Dedicated area for boxing and dedicated rooms for Zumba, cycling and HIIT training. There's a common swimming pool, separate men's and women's hot tub and sauna. Locker rooms are clean and decent sized, bring your own locks. The gym isn't intimidating with people from all levels coming in, so I would recommend this gym for both new starters and also regulars. Skip towel service if you aren't planning on taking showers in the gym. LA also allows you to bring 2 additional guests on 1 membership, so 3 in 1 is great deal for many.

Some of the machines were out of order the last time I went, which was frustrating, but they usually get fixed quickly.

    Jacuzzi

I still think there is plenty of equipment, but the post workout environment has gone downhill. Sauna is still not working. Steam room is hit or miss. Recently it's been a miss; broken with no estimated repair date. So the only option is the Jacuzzi, which I believe is unsafe. Look at the pictures I took this morning. Would you want to sit in this wastewater?

We moved back to Reston after 6 years and visited Charcoal Kebab and Mom's to pick up some food. We used to belong to tie Sterling LA Fitness and really enjoyed their classes so we really happy to see an LA Fitness in the same shopping center. We decided to pop in and was met by Kris who gave us a tour. It's brand new. As in we were there June 30th and they weren't even open yet, but we didn't know that till we were on the tour. It's gorgeous. Lots of different spaces for classes, cycling, some CrossFit looking areas, personal trainer areas, and of course tons of regular gym equipment. A pool. Different types of saunas - one being infra red. We were totally impressed. Kris was friendly and patient, answered questions before we asked them, really good with people. It was no surprise to find out he was the General Manager. The surprise was that a GM would spend his time touring the curious the day before his grand opening. Did we walk out with memberships? You be we did. Kris gave us great reasons, price being one. Stop in and check it out for up

Training rep messaging me, body shaming me, looking up my body fat %, pressuring me to sign up for their training service.

Adding screenshot of conversation to show what the reps do. They use a lot of tactics to guilt you into signing up. I canceled and went to a different gym.

I've been a member at VIDA Fitness for about a year now, and my mom is actually a founding member,…read moreso I've seen the gym from both a long-term and more recent perspective. When I first joined, the experience felt aligned with the "luxury" brand they promote. The classes are still a highlight because they're engaging, well-run, and one of the main reasons I've stayed. I also genuinely like the bar area, and most of the food I've had has been solid. That said, the biggest issue for me, and it's a major one... is cleanliness. It's honestly disturbing to see the same stains on the gym floors day after day. I understand the flooring is a neutral color, but that's not an excuse for it to look visibly dirty all the time. The areas near the windows and equipment are especially bad. At $200/month, I expect a consistently clean facility, and that standard is not being met. The bathrooms are no better. The floors often look stained and unclean, and there are almost never toilet seat covers available in the women's restroom. It feels like basic upkeep is being missed regularly. The cold plunge has also been an issue!! I've gone to use it before and noticed a visible film, which made it completely unusable. That shouldn't happen in a facility marketed as high-end. On top of that, the staff isn't particularly welcoming or attentive, which adds to the overall disconnect between the brand and the actual experience. To be fair, not all of this falls solely on the gym.. many members don't wipe down equipment after using it. But that's exactly why there needs to be stronger oversight and more consistent cleaning protocols in place. During the summer, the rooftop pool gets extremely crowded. The pool itself is nice, but it's clear they need more staffing during peak months. Service becomes very slow, which takes away from what could otherwise be a great amenity. As someone who works in facilities and understands operations, this feels like a management issue. There needs to be more attention to daily maintenance, cleaning standards, and overall quality control. Right now, it simply does not reflect the luxury experience being advertised. I'm willing to give it a little more time to improve, but based on my experience so far, I would rate it a 2.5 out of 5

The Reston VIDA is such a vibe. Overall, it's super clean and usually pretty dead (which is nice)…read more I've taken two heated yoga classes with Stefania and really enjoyed them. She gives a variety of posture options so that you can practice at your level. The music is very regular but given the location and demographic, I get it . Lol Every staff member I've interacted with has been pretty nice. They offer courtesy locks at the front desk if you forget yours. They also offer validation, but if you move too quickly past the front desk, you probably won't notice the little scanner that allows you to just scan your thing. Unfortunately, I paid for parking my first time here because I didn't know and nobody told me, but it's all good. I will say, this location is very different from all other Vida locations I have been to. This one definitely gives a more luxurious feel and can honestly be treated quite a bit like a spa. My main complaints are as follows: the actual restroom section of the locker rooms need work. There is absolutely no reason that every time I have been there, I struggle to find a stall with toilet seat covers. Usually, there is only one stall that is stocked with toilet seat covers. And several of the other stalls are usually full of unflushed feces and urine. Also, I do not know what the small towel situation is here. The first time I came, they had literally no towels. I even asked the front desk and they informed me that they did not have any at that time. Very weird because locations like the one on U St. always have a ton. The next time I came, their towel offerings looked very sad. They had like two or three in each little shelf section of the towel shelf. Again, not what I'm used to from Vida. Important notes: -the steam room and sauna are both co-ed. You've been warned. I was a little shocked the first time I went in there and saw that it was full of men. Some of them were literally just wrapped in a towel from the waist down. No thank you. -they have an ice bath, which is amazing. I enjoy my time in there. You are supposed to make reservations through the app. However, I have been walked in on multiple times despite having the door closed while being there. I also see people just walk in randomly to use it and when I check the app, there are still reservations for that timeslot, so it seems like people just use it whenever they want. I do not like that. Overall, it's a really nice location. You can tell it's newer and they are still working out some kinks. But please get some toilet seat covers.

I pay way too much monthly to come into a one life gym that still has this style of equipment. Maybe because my home gym is for totten but this is ridiculous. This equipment is all older than this gym itself. The gym smells like a sewage drain. I legitimately had to work out with a shirt over my nose and ended my workout early because I couldn't stand it anymore. The layout of the gym is always chaotic as hell. Yes there's a lot of machines, they are all old maybe 10% of what's in here is "new". Studio has no fans, neither does group studio. That makes no sense to me. First time at this location, I unfortunately moved to this area, but I won't be coming back, I'd rather make the 25 minute drive to the Manassas location where is actually clean, and new equipment Editing to add that there is in fact not a single fan in this gym, even the treadmills, don't have a built in fan. Might be the reason this location SMELLS as bad as it does. I'm

The manager took my information to send via text information about pricing, contract terms and conditions, etc. that I asked about when I walked in. I received only pricing information the same day (Wednesday, 6 Sep). I replied via text same day with thanks and asked if Joel was available the following week for the initial assessment and was told that if anything opened up, I'd receive a text (and that another trainer might be available). I responded that I didn't mind waiting for Joel and said the waiting list is fine, but could I get on the schedule for his next available opening -- just to be sure there was something confirmed on the calendar at some point because what if I couldn't make it to a spontaneous opening. I did not hear back. So I followed up via text two days later, Friday, 8 Sep... I kindly reiterated that I'm happy to have my name on a waiting list, but could I also just secure a date for an available time in the future -- even if it's a couple weeks away -- for the peace of mind ... otherwise I'd just consistently have to hope that something might open up and that my schedule would align (a likely challenge!). Patience wasn't the issue -- I said multiple times that I didn't mind at all to wait (I didn't expect him to be available the next day!); I just wanted to secure a future spot without relying on the hope of a random opening. That's not unreasonable for a person with a full-time job. I spoke with a friend whose experience reflected a similar challenge--said that every week, it was a struggle to get on the trainers' calendars. Seems they've got plenty of business to keep everyone busy, so that's great for them as a small business in a competitive industry, but boy am I disappointed at this approach to business operations and (prospective) customer service.
