I usually go to the LA Fitness on S. Lake since it's the closest location to my home. However, I later found out from another member that the Rosemead location has a hot tub, which I really like. I wanted to see if my guest pass could be used at another gym, and I was happy to learn that it's valid at all LA Fitness locations. I was ecstatic to try the hot tub at this location! When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was that this location is much bigger than the S. Lake location. They also have a bigger parking lot. There are also more types of machines here. For example, they have stair machines, which I've never seen at the S. Lake location. This location also has a basketball court and two racquetball courts. Of course, my main goal was to try out the hot tub. Before getting into the hot tub, I rinsed off in the shower and noticed that the water came out more like a mist. It was fine for rinsing, but I wouldn't want to take a full shower that way. I was hoping the hot tub would help with my sore muscles from the total body class, and it did. I also ended up having some nice conversations with people in the hot tub--everyone was very friendly. All in all, this is now my favorite LA Fitness location in Pasadena, and I would highly recommend it. read more

I frequent this location whenever the one on Cordova has a full parking lot (they should either add more visitor spots there or allow people to park on the always-empty EV ones). This location has a bigger parking lot, a swimming pool (never tried it) and a great layout. The one on Cordova also has 3 floors, and the A/C reaches the first two very well, but had an issue for the longest time in which the 3rd floor had poor A/C and the windows would get foggy and condensed at night. This location only has 1 floor, but it's gigantic, and everything is laid out nicely. It is also super close to a Ralph's and the parking lot is pretty big, so finding parking should be a pretty easy thing. The staff is friendly, they have enough power racks, benches and free weights so that you can do what you need to do and get out. Everything is maintained well and the whole place is well-lit-up, and full of great clientele. 10/10. read more

The LA Fitness Pasadena location has a long history of neglecting maintenance issues and taking members for granted. The aerobics studio floor has had a serious problem for years, with a large bulge in the middle of the room. Management has declared the floor "fixed" multiple times, yet each time it was obvious the problem remained. At one point, members could even see nails sticking out of the repaired area after it was supposedly completed. As of today, the center of the floor is once again unusable and roped off, forcing classes to work around the damaged area. After years of problems, there still does not seem to be a permanent solution. The entrance door has also been broken since Memorial Day weekend. The club is supposed to open at 8:00 a.m. on weekends, but members have repeatedly been left waiting outside while staff struggle to get the door open. I've personally experienced delays ranging from 15 to 35 minutes. This has now gone on for multiple weekends with no visible progress toward a repair. The front desk staff seem just as frustrated as the members and have always been professional and courteous. Unfortunately, they have little control over these ongoing issues. What is most disappointing is the apparent lack of urgency from management. Members continue paying full membership fees, yet significant maintenance and safety issues are allowed to drag on for months or even years. The Pasadena location (Rosemead Blvd) needs management that prioritizes safety, upkeep, and the member experience. read more

Went to the front counter today at 10:45 am. There were two ladies and no customers. I asked about all of the weight machines, cardio machines, sinkt, Urinal and pool being constantly broke down and out of order for months and months and months and months on end. They clean ignored me and couldnt wait for someone else to walk in the front door and get to talking to someone who walked up AFTER me. It wasnt until I said "Ok so you both are going to just ignore me??" And then they still didnt want to address the issue. I asked for a Manager and then one of them said she was the manager. She said her name was Heidi. By the way she was acting I would have never guessed her to be a Manager esp how she just ignored me and acted personally offended by my inquiry about all of these broke down things. Bless her little heart. Dont worry. I wont bother you with my questions about your run down, broke back, jankety Equipment - I will just put my concerns in the Yelp review for all the potential Prospects to really see what they can expect. They really hate it when you ask about all the chronically broke down equipment but they love taking your money. I think talking to her was a waste of time. The front desk people are completely useless other than checking you in and taking your payments. And the overall Staff dont want to be bothered about this and give you a nasty attitude about it. This gym is steadily declining in quality of Equipment, cleanliness and customer service. Im glad my insurance pays for the unlimited gyms here in LA otherwise I would be very upset. Thats why I usually go to Crunch or Golds In Santa Anita. I dont think this gym is going to get any better. If anything it has seen a decline like this for at least since 2021. I think someone is seriously mismanaging the gym financials- someone pocketing money while leaving the gym chronically broke down. read more

Equipment is very outdated. I've been a member of LA fitness for over 12 years now and I have seen the decline of this particular facility along with others in the area, as for bikes. Good luck trying to get one that's functional and doesn't have something broken on it. Equipment is in ill repair. With all of the other options in the area probably wouldn't be my first choice as a recommendation. Only reason I keep the membership is because I can use it when I travel abroad and truth, be known the LA fitness's located in other states are actually pretty nice. Had an amazing experience at this gym! Big shout out to Darla and Jazmine! I absolutely had to change my membership from previous gym that I've been at for last 3 years because of them. The kindness of the staff, the cleanliness of the facilities, the standard is so high, and so tidy! The hygiene makes one so comfortable! Darla was so patient with me as we went through the payment plans and is a brilliant mind. She would understand my question before it all came out my mouth! Ask for Darla to explain things and for Jasmin to show you around, the best! May management give them a promotion or something, your business will be in good hands. You got two customers today and more because of them. I've visited gyms around the world with work trips but you can't beat a clean gym and genuinely friendly staff that aren't trying to sell but care and talk to you with heart. I'm so happy! Initially, Alex and I had an extended discussion about my physical goals and about what, when and how to achieve these achievable objectives. Alex then took me around the LA Fitness facility to patiently demonstrate at good number of exercise machines. These came highly recommended by Alex as I have not been unfamiliar with them in the past. The gym is just nice and clean but the bathrooms are very outdated. They have several cleaning wipe stations and hand sanitizer all around the gym if you need to clean off equipment or wash your hands. I have been a member since I was 15 years old, however, I have not been consistently working out for the last two years due to my knee injury. The staff is ok, but some of the workers do not have any personality. They have many new up-to-date modern gym equipment, a basketball court, a snack juice bar, an arsenic room, and handball courts. I just started working out again and it's hard lol, but I am making it through. This gym gets crowded in the early evening and it's hard to park at times. I used to be a member here many years ago, all prices have gone up, I signed up for a seven day free guest pass online, filled out all of the required information, signed the forms and received a barcode scanner for seven days... Today I came in early to use the gym, shower and go to work. of course, in true LA fitness fashion, it never really works out the way you plan it... I could not get in because apparently there is a form that needs to be signed, which I signed online... The front desk girl was very rude and acted like she was a security guard. It's just a gym, Relax! I understand that forms need to be signed and I'm willing to comply with whatever they would like for the seven day guest pass, but it is not my fault that the gym is open and operational, but there is no one that could help me with the forms that they require. The desk people want to close 15 min early, they say management told them they can,,, since they pay zero rate past the closing time. Some months ago they installed electric car power stations, so now even though those spaces are usually occupied by EVs that are NOT fueling (essentially preferred parking for EVs), they have threatened to trow away any non EV that parks in any power pump spot EVEN WHEN the parking lot is completely full, since they over-book the place with all kinds of weirdos. They ticketed some cars for the same EV thing by calling the city of Pasadena into the unincorporated part of the city limits to ticket on private property without having the required signage at each entrance to the property. Illegal crap, I'dl file a civil suit. read more

I've been visiting this LA Fitness for the past three months and I can say it's decent if you want to get a quick workout in with weights, cardio, or a quick ball game. The staff there are nice, but it isn't the nicest gym as the equipment is dated and the locker room can benefit from a deep clean. It's not on the level of Equinox, but it also doesn't have the high price tag associated with it and I would say it's on the same level of Planet Fitness or 24-Hour Fitness. There are a variety of amenities including free weights, resistance machines, treadmills, elliptical, stair climber, and stationary cycles. Aside from machines they also have a basketball court, multiple racquetball courts and a three-lane swimming pool. Like most gyms, they also have fitness class (spin, Zumba, yoga, and Kickbox cardio) as well as personal trainers that provide one on one guidance to meet your goals. I haven't participated in any classes so I can't comment on the trainers, but I can say that the Zumba classes are very popular since there is a line waiting to get in. Hours are accommodating as the gym opens early on weekdays, 5AM to 11PM (closes at 10 PM on Fridays), and 8AM to 8PM on the weekends, though I do wish that they would open earlier on the weekend as well. They also have a child sitting service called Kids Klub where they would watch your child while you work out. I haven't used this service, but I do think it's pretty cool that it's an option so you can't use your child as a reason for not going to the gym. In terms of weights and resistance training, the gym hosts a mixture of Star Trac, Iron Grip, and Life Fitness free weights, resistance, and cable machines. I normally make my way to the gym early in the morning when they open on the weekdays and it's not too crowded. I rarely wait long for a machine and if I do it's a 5-minute wait. It's a different story on the weekends and if you decide to come at night as the place does get popular. One thing I have noticed is that machines tend to take a while before they get repaired. It can be a few days to a few weeks which may lead to increase competition when trying to secure the existing machines. Overall, the gym checks my boxes for what I want to do at the gym, but everyone has their own preference. Parking is easy since the gym is in a plaza and spaces are normally available if you don't mind a short walk during busy times. For my PokémonGo players, there are a couple stops around the gym but there is only one stop that you can spin at which is at the free weights area. So, feel free to spin while you are working out on the weight bench. read more

This could be a really good gym. Only thing is: 1) they have chargers for EV. but they don't police those parking spots so any and everybody parks in them. Incredibly frustrating. I asked them to put notices on those not EV, but "they" said they don't do that sort of thing. 2) They also don't have anyone of the floor of the weight room to ask people to put back their weights... that is just standard gym etiquette. Or perhaps once an hour they could send someone out to put the weights lying all over the place back in the weigh racks. 3) They also seem to not care that maybe 1/2 the TV's on the treadmills don't work nor do the treadmills themselves. The toggle switches to raise or lower the height or increase or decrease the speed don't work on a lot of them. 4) I like they try to keep the place clean. But the paper towels rack is often out of towels. And when sink breaks, it doesn't get fixed for a long time. Same with the urinals. read more

bathroom are disgusting. as soon as you walk in the place smells of defecation. the people at the front desk is so checked out - the gym manager should be fired for providing such poor training to the employees here. This gym needs to change their cleaning schedule. At 5am, there is a morning rush, most mornings when entering the locker room, there are left dirty workout clothes, that have been left from the night before, so the locker room smells. The paper towels dispenser is empty and the sinks are littered with used paper towels. The cleaning crew should, mop, stock up the stalls and dispensers right before closing. Instead the cleaning crew comes in during the morning rush, so the sauna is not available until 630am, walking on dirty mop water to and from shower to the locker room, water hose blocking shower stalls while they are cleaning the sauna, so they can clean. Bad customer service. Most L.A. Fitness have the gym in order when the doors open in the morning. This gym, not so much. read more

I want to give a big shoutout to Iliana, the manager at the LA Fitness Pasadena (Rosemead) location. Iliana actively walks through the gym on a regular basis, checks the floors, and makes sure equipment is organized, and that weights are put back where they belong. You can tell she genuinely cares about the gym and takes pride in maintaining it. Iliana's approach has brought a noticeable improvement to the overall atmosphere and sets the tone for a positive gym culture. It's refreshing to see leadership that's so present and engaged. Twice had this gym disappointed me. First time the kids club worker gave my child water from her cup and when I tried speaking to the manager no one ever called me back or got on the phone with me. Today I take my child to the kids club and they don't have any other kids and it was a male worker. I asked if it was possible to get a female and they refused. Never again coming here. read more

This isn't my usual LA Fitness but I decided to stop by since I was in the area, and honestly, it's kind of a miss. The equipment is mostly there, but a lot of the machines could use some maintenance. It was pretty crowded, which can be frustrating if you're trying to get in and out. That might not be a fair critique though, since it is an LA Fitness and bound to attract a lot of gymgoers, especially during peak hours. I guess I was just surprised at how inconvenient the facility felt (how long does a man have to wait for some machines to open up?), even with everyone doing their thing. That said, the staff is friendly and the locker room wasn't dirty, and that's probably the most important part for a lot of people. read more

I have been a member here for over 10 years and although I enjoy the machines and the classes and the gym is overall clean. This location has the absolute worst Wi-Fi in just about every corner, including the parking lot. You can't hear your music you can't go online Sometimes even have problems receiving and sending text messages. In addition it's extremely bright with the neon lights and because of this, I avoid going to this location as much as possible. read more

Why have beautiful new EV chargers if you won't bother to "police" the gas guzzlers from parking in the space essentially making them useless and unusable ??? I understand it will never be prevented fully, but to simply do nothing about it ever....seems ridiculous. I get there is only so much that can be done, but attempts should be made. I imagine the 3rd party owner of the charging units must have something in the contract to assist against the many charges and commissions being lost. Just curious as to why the expense to install if this would be the allowed end result. Or why so close to the front door where all the activity ends up. The original ones on the side of the building essentially have the same issue, but not to the extent of the newer units close to the main entrance. read more

Just as amazing as I remember it was back in High School! The renovations are a nice added touch.

I've been to numerous LA Fitness locations, and this is one of the nicer ones. Even though it is one level it is spacious, and I like the layout. The locker rooms are large and clean. The treadmills have TVs. There is a yoga room, spin classroom, sauna, basketball & racquetball courts, an indoor pool, and a little snack/juice bar. I came here because the Lake Ave location was closed for repairs. If it were closer, I would come back on a regular basis. read more
