My wife and I recently joined this LA Fitness and have had a really good experience so far. One of the people who helped us get started was Landon, and he made the whole process pretty easy. To be honest, when we first walked in I was half expecting the typical gym sales pitch. But that wasn't the case at all. The conversation was actually pretty relaxed. We talked about our goals, what kind of workouts we were looking to do, and what would realistically fit into our schedules. Landon helped us get plugged into the personal training program, and what I appreciated most was that it didn't feel pressured. He explained the options, answered our questions, and let us decide what made sense for us. Another thing that has been really helpful is the flexibility with training schedules. My wife and I both have busy weeks sometimes, so being able to adjust times when needed has made it much easier to stay consistent. Overall it's just been a really comfortable and straightforward experience getting started there. The gym itself has plenty of equipment, and the staff we've interacted with have all been friendly. I'm very disappointed with my experience at this LA Fitness Signature location. I'm already a member and normally go to a different location, but my wife and I stopped by to check this gym out since she was interested in seeing the facility. Unfortunately, our experience with Mya at the front desk was very unwelcoming. She came across as disrespectful and made us feel like we were being pushed away rather than welcomed. She specifically had my wife wait at the front while she only allowed me to take the tour by myself. I don't understand why she couldn't have offered to give both of us a tour, whether my wife was already a member or not. My wife was actually planning on signing up, but after the way we were treated, we will not be returning to this location. A simple friendly introduction, better communication, and a willingness to show us the facility together would have made a completely different impression. As a current member, I expected a better level of customer service. ATTENTION PARENTS: DO NOT send your child here. My son was exposed to pornography by one of the staff members on her laptop. There are strict policies against allowing staff to have electronics out or allow a child to be on one of their personal devices. Not only did she have it out, but she allowed him to play games on it where he accidently clicked on an open tab of her naked. The manger then asked my husband and I, "what would you like us to do about it?" She then falsified the incident report by saying the matter was handled and we were very happy with the outcome. Not true. The employee was not fired, she was relocated. Fast forward a few years when my son finally built up the courage to go back knowing that same person wouldn't be there, he broke is arm due to overcapacity of children, negligence, and lack of control of the children in such a small space. We have discontinued our membership which is what we should have done a long time ago. Aside from these events, I also have two toddlers who I have witnessed walking around with sharp pencils and climbing ontop of chairs with them in their hand. If that's not enough, my not even one year old, was walking around a large group of big kids who play rough. There is a designated enclosed area for the babies, so I'm not certain why she was subject to being injured out in the open. To top it off, my other two year old daughter was given a phone by one of the staff members to watch movies on that she is not allowed to watch at home nor did I give them permission to do this. Seeing how my son was exposed to nudity on the last device given to him, I would have never allowed this. Again, the staff is not supposed to have electronics out or allow the children to use the staff's devices. The capacity for this tiny space allows for there to be over 50 children. The ratio for staff to children is 1 staff member to 10 children. They do not have the right amount of staff on the premises to accommodate for that type of capacity. There were times when the amount of children to childcare workers over exceeded the legal ratio. The childcare workers, although nice, are not professional and they have 0 control over the kids. Hi, I am contacting LA Fitness regarding an experience l had with a manager at this locations. I feel disappointed by the way I was treated and would like to express my concerns. The name of the manager is "Kim ". and this incident occurred at the 21720 Kuykendahl Rd Spring, TX 77388 location club. Mr Kim (he called himself the manager) was very sassy & rude. Upon my trying to let my kids sit down in the gym while I got a quick work out. he was very snappy with me. Not pleasant at all. He told me, my kids could not sit down and wait for me inside the gym. I responded, I have a membership +1 if I needed to use that but, my kids would just sit and wait on me quietly. Big kids at that. They are 14 & 15.. he told me l would have to pay a additional 20 dollars just for the one kids to sit at the gym to wait on me.. just they way he responded made me dislike the la fitness more. Like they have a whole day care in this place. And my kids can't sit on the couch or chairs.. this "manager" is very disrespectful and a disgusting face for la fitness. The front desk check in staff went above and beyond this morning! There are many gyms to choose from in the area. I hope you'll take advantage of this convenient full service fitness location. There's a class for just about anyone. I ran into a problem which tested the staff as the Manager was not available, however the clerks immediately stepped up to assist me. They made calls, got answers and did not stop helping me until the matter was resolved. Exceptional customer service and sincere care are difficult to find these days. This gym has gone waaaay down in the last few years. The mats are so dirty and nasty that my white shirts were all dirty after stretching. Hair, dirt, and dust everywhere. The same two spots in the roof have been leaking for over two years. I know multiple people that have now left here to go to a different gym because of how dirty this one is. The men's locker room is always out of soap. The workers are constantly late to open the doors at 5am. It's a shame that we pay this much per month for such poor quality. read more

I love LA fitness. Just not this location. This is a signature club, where it costs more and offered towel services, better lockers, and more classes. It's newer than my 290 location, but seems so much older. Not sure if they recycled weights from another LA but a lot of the machines are really beat up. Rust showing, beat up equipment, you know. It looks unkept. Maybe it's the environment staff not doing a great job cleaning but the 290 one is. I absolutely hate matrix machines. And hoist. Probably the two worst brands for gym equipment around and maybe they're less expensive, but gawd they're terrible. Their cardio machines...you guessed matrix. Lots of benches, lots of free weights, but I cannot get over using the inferior machines because of value. read more

Talk about gym RATS. This LA Fitness on Kuykendahl has a horrible problem. The equipment is always in disrepair and the staff can't be bothered to even say good morning or thank you. The bright spot, if there is one, is the poor older guy who is constantly cleaning the place does a good job. For the 55 bucks a month this is what you get at this location - photos included. I'm not paying for this miserable place any more. It's too bad, for me, that the location off of the Grand Parkway & Rayford is too far. For the record this is NOT a new issue. Sauna has been broken for over a year due to reasons that change every few months and no new machines since the place has opened. Yet I'm still paying for LA fitness *signature club*. At this point I'm just considering driving the extra 10 mins to rise barbell or fighting the mob over at EoS because the only thing this gym has that puts it above Planet Fitness is barbells and 100lbs dumbbells. Staff is nice and environment is clean, spacious and friendly, but any gym worth going to also has that. 3 pool lanes and you're lucky if you are able to share a lane with someone. Hot tub always has some dude in it with bubbles on high. You're braver than me if you're hopping in. I'm not sure if they still charge you for towels. The equipment provided is all bog standard stuff you've seen before. The couches come in handy when waiting on someone using a machine as their office chair. I know I'm pretty negative, but that is because I've been to a few gyms that charge less and offer so much more. This gym is amazing if you are a beginner, a child, or someone who is working out to maintain their strength and fitness as they age. For me this is simply the most convenient place to go that lets me put weight on a barbell and move it around. read more

I don't recommend this gym to anyone due to the fact that as of today, when I was going home, someone broke into my car. They broke the door handle of the front passenger door, they broke part of my steering wheel, and part of the dashboard. Then 3 months ago, someone stole the Cadillac converters of my old car. So I will be cancelling all of the memberships that I have in this gym. read more

Sauna has been closed at least 6 months. Heater in pool was out over a week. They now charge for towels. Pool door locked to go in( new rule by new mgr) now only an exit. Pool usually crowded. Good luck getting a lane. Some hog lanes for 1-2 hours or more. If you like dogs in the gym, you'll love this place. I'm thinking of bringing my pony support animal. read more

They keep on removing some classes and not replacing them even though there are instructors willing to teach. No point of writing them as well since no one listens ! I have a single club membership which I didn't know (But it's fine). The lady at the front desk was trying to upgrade my membership so I can start going to the signature club. I didn't want to agree to paying extra if I really didn't like it. So I tried it out but I had to pay $10 ok fine. I didn't feel like the signature offered anything different than the original one I go too. The only thing they offered were towels which paying an extra $30 month for a towel is not worth it. The machines were outdated, the sauna was closed and some of the machines were broken. And to add insult to injury if I wanted to change my membership i had to pay a new initiation fee. I'm talking about the location of the Kuykendahl Rd Spring They have to close the bathrooms when they are cleaning it, one cannot take a quiet shower, one cannot go to the sauna in peace because they are cleaning it and with an unpleasant strong chlorine, they should wait for them to close the Gym to clean the bathrooms , and not cleaning the bathrooms with people entering the bathrooms, they cannot mop and with people inside it is a danger since one can fall and slip. I passed the complaint to the manager but the Manager has a bad attitude telling me that nothing could be done (my recommendation is to close the bathroom for 15 minutes to clean it and open it again, and not to clean it with children in there, the floor wet and one walking) That doesn't seem profesional to me read more

I've been going to this gym for a little over a year now, and my experience started great until around 4 months ago. First, the stairclimbers are always broken, and they still haven't been fixed. Second, the sauna has been broken for the last two months. The response I got from the front desk when I asked about these issues was "we're sorry, we're waiting on parts". LA Fitness Is a franchise, and I doubt getting parts for basic equipment takes as long as it does. I've only been greeted by the front desk once or twice, and I'm usually the one saying "hello, how are you?". If they aren't listening to music through their AirPods they're playing on their phones.
