I've been coming to this LA Fitness for a while now and the people here honestly make the biggest difference. The Pilates instructors are solid across the board. They're knowledgeable, keep things safe, and still push you to get the most out of the workout. Jessica is super kind, encouraging, and actually remembers people, which you don't see everywhere. She creates a really comfortable, welcoming environment and explains things in a way that makes you feel confident. Robert's classes are always waitlisted and it makes sense. He challenges you without overdoing it and keeps workouts creative, especially with the reformer. Sarah is great too, very positive energy, especially in the mornings. I just wish I could take more of her classes. Walter is also really knowledgeable and just very solid overall. Shoutout to the front desk and management team. Gail, the general manager, is amazing and has been so supportive of my fitness journey. She really makes people feel seen and comfortable. Roberto, the assistant manager, always checks in and remembers details, which makes the gym feel more personal. Dustin is also super helpful anytime I've needed anything. Mark, who I did a trial personal training session with, was really nice and encouraging and made it a great first experience. The smoothie spot inside is also really good, which is a nice bonus. I am writing this review to formally express a serious concern regarding the Valencia LA Fitness location. On Monday, I attended a kickboxing class in the studio and the room was extremely hot due to a lack of air conditioning. The thermostat showed a temperature of 90 degrees, creating unsafe and completely intolerable conditions. It was so uncomfortable that I genuinely felt like I might faint, and several other members also looked visibly affected. It was clear the environment was not safe for a high-intensity workout. Kickboxing is already a demanding physical activity, and without proper cooling or ventilation, it becomes a real health risk. This goes beyond discomfort and enters the territory of heat exhaustion and dehydration. As a fitness facility, LA Fitness has a responsibility to ensure workout spaces are safe, and this location failed to meet that standard. Because the class could not be safely completed, I am requesting that this issue be properly addressed and corrected to ensure the studio's HVAC system is fully inspected, repaired, and maintained so that safe temperatures are consistently upheld during all classes. I am also requesting written confirmation that the issue has been resolved and that appropriate corrective action has been taken. I expect a written response confirming the steps taken to fix this issue, along with documentation of the corrective action, no later than 7 business days from the date of this message. If I do not receive a timely response within that timeframe, I will escalate this matter further. At the time of the class, there was no immediate acknowledgment or resolution offered. Members should not be expected to risk their health or lose value due to preventable facility issues. I strongly urge management to take this seriously, ensure proper temperature control for all future classes, and provide written confirmation that corrective action has been completed. Safety should always come first, especially in group fitness environments. I hope this issue is resolved promptly and appropriately so that no one else has to experience unsafe conditions like this again. read more

I go here mainly for the swimming pool and jacuzzi. And it's rarely crowded in the evenings. Locker rooms are typically clean, the toilets are very low and old, but usually clean, and sauna is good, I feel like the showers are very old and definitely need some updating. I don't feel comfortable showering here. It's usually difficult trying to find a parking spot.The receptionist and sales people are friendly and helpful. Not pushy which I like. They also provide child Care which we used only once because our 3 year old has separation anxiety. We hung out for 45 mins inside the area to get her acclimated. We like that it was clean , kids seem well behaved and the 2 girls watching the kids seem really nice and attentive to the kids. read more

So we went to this location at least twice a week for about 8 months. The classes still were great and the instructors made for a great experience. However this update is regarding the kids club. The teachers did the kids club were absolutely wonderful. They were very kind and attentive and knew my children well. However my kids kept getting sick after visiting the club. Literally every 2-3 weeks one of them would get a cough. I would always clean their hands with hand sanitizing wipes after but they still got sick. I thought maybe it was a coincidence. But we took time off due to a busier schedule and they stopped getting sick. Now I'm concerned about bringing them back. So most likely I'll try another location that's less busy to see how that goes. I know it's a busy location and the child care attendants already have their hands full. But it would probably help to get rid of that carpet. Also I don't know how often the play structure is thoroughly cleaned inside. They need to invest in more staffing to help sanitize more often. read more

Equipment is outdated and poorly maintained, yet instead of fixing or replacing worn machines, management has made questionable decisions--like removing spaces members actually use and enjoy. Communication is poor, customer concerns are dismissed, and service quality has clearly declined under current management. For a gym that charges monthly fees, the experience does not match expectations. The gym itself is great, but I had a very disappointing experience over the phone with an employee named Gale. I called with questions about my membership and whether switching through health insurance would be a better option for me. Instead of being helpful, she came across as rude and sarcastic during the entire conversation. She repeatedly said they "don't sell health insurance" in a condescending tone and told me there was nothing they could do to help me switch my membership over. She also said I would have to come into her specific location just to cancel, while repeatedly saying "I'm not trying to be rude," even though her tone clearly was. I was simply trying to understand my options and felt disrespected for asking basic questions. First off I like this LA Fitness because the size of it and it's easy to get to. The checkin is friendly and the machines are in pretty good shape. Pretty good shape considering the amount of people working out on a consistent basis. There are always cardio machines available. Weight room gets pretty crowded but you can usually rotate around to an open station. The cross training / grass area is pretty full at all times. But again you can work your way in there. I see them cleaning up the floors regularly and I'm not sure if it's because of the time of day I go or if they are just always cleaning, but it's good to see. The crowd is mixed from all ages, and everyone seems polite and respectful. Parking is busy but there is a nice big lot. As for the Juiceology smoothie bar, I never really see it open. The gym opens at like 5 or earlier and anytime between then and 9am it is dark and closed. Seems like a perfect time to be open. The early before work crowd looking for a quick morning start drink after a workout seems ideal. Heck I've looked for that. But instead I head outside up the street to get it. IDK. I did ask the front desk wha the hours are and they looked over telling me they aren't too sure. Overall a good gym and like going there. read more

From the first time I got a tour I was impressed by the staff and how clean and updated the equipment is. I even bring my 3 kids to the kids club and they love it. The only thing is would say is they need to put more toys or coloring books for the kids. It's cheaper than most gyms I used to attend to in the valley. I'm writing this to warn everyone about LA Fitness's deceptive billing practices and complete lack of accountability. In 2022, I signed up for a new membership using the same name and email I had used years earlier. What I didn't know was that LA Fitness had kept my old, frozen account "active" and continued charging me $10/month for over THREE YEARS without any notice. That's over $360 in charges for a membership I never used -- and didn't even know I still had. Their system didn't notify me. No emails. No alerts. Nothing. I discovered this myself while reviewing my billing history -- and when I reached out to resolve it, the response was worse than the billing error itself. I contacted their manager, Dustin Richardson, multiple times by email, fully explaining the situation and asking for a refund and a written record of all charges under my name. Instead of helping, he avoided the issue entirely, gave me vague non-answers, and then went completely silent. It's now obvious that Dustin is either unwilling or completely unfit to deal with legitimate customer issues. I gave them every opportunity to respond professionally. I waited. I followed up. I was ignored. I've now filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the California Department of Consumer Affairs, and the Federal Trade Commission. I'm also working with my bank to dispute every one of these charges. If you're a current or former LA Fitness member, I strongly suggest you: Check your billing history for duplicate or unauthorized charges Never trust that your account is properly canceled or frozen Understand that management (specifically people like Dustin Richardson) will not take accountability or help you This company continues to profit off people who don't even know they're being charged -- and they ignore you when you catch them. Warning About Car and Locker Room Theft I'm writing this review in hopes of preventing anyone else from becoming a victim of theft at L.A. Fitness, specifically the Valencia location. No one should have to go through what I did, and I want to make sure others are aware so they don't end up in the same unfortunate situation. I signed up for a membership at L.A. Fitness back in July of 2024. Overall, I've found the gym to be clean and well-maintained, with a variety of equipment that meets my needs. However, my experience took a horrible turn last Sunday when my car was broken into while parked at the Valencia location. The thief stole my driver's license, debit card, about $40 in cash, and my Louis Vuitton key holder with my house keys inside. I'm aware it wasn't the smartest move to leave those items in the glove compartment, but I usually don't bring them into the gym since I often run errands afterward. That particular day, I was in a bit of a panic and thought my things had just fallen behind the glove box. After thoroughly checking, it was clear that wasn't the case. My car doors were locked -- in fact, my doors automatically lock when I walk away. What scares me is that the thief was still able to break in. Luckily, the thief didn't use my debit card, and I was able to contact my bank immediately to cancel the card and request a replacement. (Pro tip: Don't put a "lock" on your card because transactions can still happen online!) I filed a police report, but the officer told me it was classified as a "petty theft," so I had to file it online. I also spoke with the gym manager, Dustin, who informed me that the gym's cameras don't cover the parking lot, only the front of the building. He also said there wasn't anyone suspicious in the parking lot that day. However, the front desk staff told me that there had been reports of someone attempting to open car doors previously. I ended up visiting another L.A. Fitness location, the one on the Old Road, where a young man at the front desk shared with me that there have been multiple break-ins at their facility and in the locker rooms. According to him, security cameras captured a white minivan with a group of men who were targeting expensive cars in the parking lot. They're apparently professionals who know how to unlock cars and steal valuables. Even worse, there have been reports of people's purses, wallets, and credit cards being stolen from the locker rooms at multiple L.A. Fitness locations. One member at the Newhall Ranch location had his credit cards stolen within minutes of the thief getting access, and the thief was already attempting fraudulent transactions within 2 minutes. It's unsettling to think that someone might even be a member at the gym, and I can't help but feel violated and targeted. Since the theft, I've had to change all the locks in my house, and I'm seriously considering canceling my membership. I no longer feel safe going to any L.A. Fitness gym, especially the Valencia location. The most frustrating part is that, with all the money we pay for memberships, there should be better security in place. I was told that the gym doesn't have cameras covering the entire parking lot, which seems like a basic safety measure that should be implemented. It's also disappointing to learn that gym workers believe some of these break-ins may be the work of a member. Please, if you're a member at any L.A. Fitness gym, do not leave valuables in your car or in the locker room, no matter how secure you think it might be. Thieves know how to bypass car locks and locker room security. I really hope that L.A. Fitness steps up its game when it comes to member safety and adds more cameras and security measures to prevent these thefts from happening in the future. I'm sharing my story in the hopes that it helps someone avoid what I went through. Stay safe out there, and don't let this happen to you. read more

Classes are amazing. Classes with Aaron, especially his Zumba classes, are enough to keep my membership. His Body Works class is also very do-able and beginner friendly, yet, still challenging. His energy is contagious. His classes are always very fun, uplifting and empowering, always making us feel better overall, like a therapy. read more

I like this gym mostly. Great classes! Nice people work the desk. The cleaning crew is fantastic as well. But unfortunately I have to leave a lukewarm review on behalf of many members who have similar dislikes about this particular gym. I hope we will be listened to in the near future... Management, you guys need to spruce up the stair machines. People love them but all the TVs are busted and don't work. Also, the women's sauna has been closed for a couple weeks. Could you get on top of that? Call the repair guy? And lastly the air conditioning system needs fixed or replaced. Can you guys finally get that sorted for us? It's at heatstroke level. You're signing up people on top of current member dues and you have a budget for the fixes. We don't want the health department to shut down this great location. LFG Thank you. I just joined here and so far it's pretty decent. The people are friendly. The classes are good and I love that they have fans but they do need to turn up the AC. It is getting very hot in there and your machines are very old and outdated , it's time to upgrade the machines big time. I love the Pilates reform but $35 for class is ridiculous. I'm not understanding what is so different about it. They need to lower the price that's ridiculous. read more

Basically the same complaints as everyone else has. Overcrowded, too hot (they seem to be very stingy with the AC) machines are often in disrepair. Suggestions: More sanitizing stations around the gym! Part of the reason people don't clean is because they have to walk across the gym to get wipes. Could be simple as spray and paper towels that are refilled. More AC! Less cardio and more free weight selection. The cardio section is NEVER full. Expand the rest of the gym! Ridiculously hot inside at the Newhall Ranch location last Sunday. The lack of air conditioning has been an ongoing issue for months/years, every time it gets hot outside. The inside temp basically tracks the outside temp within a couple of degrees which means no cooling. The mezzanine temperature was 87F, as hot as outdoors, while the first floor was only 3 degrees cooler at 84F. The mezzanine thermostat is set for 73F during fitness center hours, so either the air conditioning system is broken or simply turned off. The first floor thermostat is set for 70F so the same possibilities. If the A/C system is not working it should be repaired or replaced. Maybe it just needs to be turned on. Does anyone have temperature reports to share from other LA Fitness locations? read more

I came in to check this was super welcoming. Nathan took the time to walk me through the gym and ask about my fitness goals. The place is really clean equipment looks brand new and didn't feel overwhelming like some other gyms. I can definitely see myself coming here consistently highly recommend checking this location now if you're nearby. read more

The trainers here are truly insufferable. Very rude and commandeering, acting like the training area is only specifically for them when all walks of life are allowed to workout in that specific area. While I understand it might be "policy" for trainers to snag any dumbbells, mats, or benches while in use by someone else when it is busy and they need it for their clients, the way they approach it needs some work. To act entitled toward everything in that area and not adhering to gym etiquette by just waiting or asking how long someone has left with the workout equipment, is just rude. There is one trainer specifically annoying about it, don't know his name & never cared to ask. He has tattoos and a permanent red face with teeth that scare you when you look at them. Not only is he very abrasive with the way he approaches people about taking their equipment, he is also a creep. Always walking around w his work shirt off and flexing in the mirror or doing one single set of curls and walking off. Always staring at women's rears and flirting with people on the job. There is another trainer who has hit on me specifically which is just inappropriate to do while on the clock. Seriously you guys need to get your workers better because the second the tatted trainer took my bench today I cancelled my membership. I don't think $50 a month is worth the possibility of my workout getting interrupted by disgusting and annoying trainers who don't know what gym etiquette means in the slightest. DO BETTER!!!!! DONT GO HERE!!!! Also side note: stairmaster are very limited and are almost always out of service. Dumbbells are rarely ever in their correct spot and sooooo hot inside!!! read more

This facility is not well maintained. Been a member for a year & it seems that the maintenance & cleaning has been going downhill. Equipment upkeep is neglected & there is dirt & filth from lack of regular cleaning. Don't believe me see pics attached. The floor & other stations are alot dirtier. Really disappointed with staff including management. This gym is pretty big with plenty of cable machines. Today I walked around and only saw two D handle attachments that were being used. I walked over to the front desk to ask for a D handle and both the front clerk and supervisor told me to go to the personal trainer corner and get one from the bin. Once I got to the bin I noticed it had a padlock on it with no way to open it. This was pretty annoying with this gym being so big/busy and hardly anyone with personal trainers. At least as far as I've seen. Regardless the main gym should not lack on its attachments considering how busy it gets. read more
