After reading so many good reviews, I contracted Genevieve to provide table arrangements and a larger arrangement for an escort table for my son's rehearsal dinner. I am sorry to say that my experience was not a good one. The dinner was held New Year's Eve weekend, and I was unable to reach anyone at La Fleur du Jour for days before the function, trying both phone and email. I finally heard from them the day of the dinner, saying they had everything ready. The table arrangements were to have been in black, square vases and arrived in round, whitish ones. Not at all what we had agreed upon. And the larger arrangement for the escort card table was in a gold, plastic vase. Very disappointing. Obviously others have had great experiences with La Fleur du Jour, but I cannot recommend them. read more

Genevieve was such a lovely person to work with and I highly recommend her.....we had a small intimate wedding and she provided flowers for the venue as well as my bouquet and they were stunning. They came out so much more gorgeous than what I had imagined!!! Genevieve is the most amazing person you could use on your team when it comes to planning your wedding!!! Originally, I had two other florists in mind since my wedding took place in Santa Barbara but since I am from Orange County I just went off of Reviews. It was during the consultation that I KNEW she was the florist to hire! She had so much patience, creativity and understanding, right from the start. Whenever I had a question, Genevieve answered right away, if not through email, through text messages. As for the pricing, Genevieve was honest and told me from the beginning which flowers would be more expensive, so she started playing around with ideas so that she was able to carry out my vision but also maintain the lowest cost as possible. Genevieve!! Wow!! Is all I can say!! A friend who was getting married two months after me referred Genevieve. My now husband and I met her at our first florist appointment and after we left, he turned to me and said, "hire her. I don't want to meet anyone else." Genevieve just "got" our vision! She is a true artist and really understood what wedding floral design we were going for. We were getting married at a ranch with a barn and huge open field. We had a LOT of vintage furniture and without seeing any of it in advance, Genevieve and her team created the floral vision of our dreams. As much as I count on Yelp reviews, I have never actually written my own, but Genevieve and La Fleur Du Jour were so incredible amazing for our wedding, that I was compelled to give them 5 stars on every website I can! I would give her a million stars if I could. I spoke with a good number of florists before I happened to find Genevieve from searching images of wedding floral. No one really "got" what I was saying for my vision like she did. I spent 20 mins or so on the phone with her for our initial call, then she sent me a follow up email with an inspiration board visual, and it was exactly everything I would have wanted and completely my style. She is such a great listener, has great input (if you want it or need it like I did), and she will go above and beyond for you to make your wedding planning easier on yourself. Her pricing was better than anyone I found in the Santa Barbara area as well, and she will help you find ways to keep the floral within a certain budget, whether it means using different flowers, re-purposing floral arrangements, coming up with different design options, etc. I wanted flowers in my hair, and she offered to sketch and then to create a mock-up so I could see what her vision was in person. That's how friendly and accommodating she is. I completely trusted her to make the floral perfect on the day of, and I got SO many compliments on her work. Who would have thought guests would ever notice the flowers enough to tell you how beautiful they were!? People were literally taking pictures of the fountain that Genevieve decorated, the floral around the arbor, and the arrangements we had hanging on either side of the ceremony aisle. I knew she was going to be great before I even saw her finished product - so much so that I recommended her to a friend who was looking for a florist before our wedding even happened. Genevieve did our flowers for our wedding in May in Santa Barbara and she went above and beyond what we'd hoped for--she does absolutely gorgeous work and chooses quality flowers. We wanted mostly coral peonies, and each and every bloom she selected was perfect. The way she arranged them with free flowing natural greens was so beautiful, and she did such lovely details, including hand dyed blush colored ribbon for the bouquets. She worked within our budget too; we wanted fairly simple arrangements because our ceremony and reception locations didn't need much decor, and she never tried to up-sell. She replied to emails quickly and dropped off/picked-up the flowers right on schedule. And to top it off, she's super sweet and helpful-- we met with her in person prior to the wedding and knew that I'd made the right choice.
