This was the first time I ordered from Ultra Violet Flowers. I don't live in the Northern Virginia area any longer, but my sister and I needed to send our mom flowers for her birthday. I had visited their Instagram and saw their beautiful flowers and saw that they were taking careful precautions, wearing masks, gloves and wiping down the vases. This meticulous care and quality of arrangements made me want to support this local small business. It was relatively easy to purchase the arrangement but it was SO hard to decide which one to pick! They all were gorgeous. We settled on the picking the small Flirt bouquet. Our mom was so surprised that she received the flowers the morning of her birthday and felt so special that she promptly sent us the photos. I'm SO pleased and tickled at how beautiful the arrangement looks that if I ever have to send flowers in the DMV area again, I'll certainly be using Ultra Violet Flowers. This review also brought me out of retirement. I hadn't written a review in ages and this business certainly deserves the praise. My only comment for the biz is if you could show the scale of the bouquets different sizes (Small, Medium, Large) against each other or note what is depicted on the website that would be helpful. Beyond the selection, the customer service was on point. Second experience they were very nice via email, as I was trying to send flowers for a specific occasion whilst I was in Cuba and had very limited internet and communication capabilities. They responded quickly to my emails and were willing to work with me. The only downfall is that I requested only the colors red, yellow, and white. This was specific and was for the purpose of the event I was sending the flowers for. Unfortunately the flowers that were delivered were orange and raspberry and even had orange ribbon. Ok, so I called to redeem it and wanted to get a $200-250 bouquet and apply my LivingSocial deals. No dice. Well, I can't comment on the flowers since they do not deliver on the weekends. If you are from out of town or would like delivery for a weekend holiday/birthday, know that they are not open on the weekends as they tend to do event flowers then. As for the customer service side: the ambient bitterness comes across even when not intended. I would consider using them if their arrangements were breathtaking, but if not, I would pass as the lurking potential for drama is higher than I would want to waste my time with for anything less than amazing arrangements. read more
