Try it! There is something to great to say about Mexican ice cream. It has its own unique flavors and texture, creamy with specs of fresh fruit, coconut and more goodness. Surprisingly yummy, and not too sweet like most ice cream. It's a cultural experience from Mexico right here in California, Lake Elsinore.

A true hidden gem in Lake Elsinore. This location has a vast array of homemade ice cream varying from cream based to fruit/water based. If only the attached picture in this review could convey how delicious this scoop of passion fruit ice cream was. The staff was attentive and friendly. Though their in store sitting is still COVID restricted, La Flor de Cotija has definitely earned our business and we look forward to trying more from their menu in these hot summer days.

I found out about this hidden Gem about a year ago and let me tell youuuuu everything they have taste delicious from the Agua frescas made from scratch, milk & water based ice cream & the two favorite items Paleta de Arroz with chocolate covered sprinkles and banana split I love the overall customer service the owners always take the time to have a conversation it's a family owned business and l rather spend my money here than the competitors who aren't as friendly! 10/10 recommend this place!

Honestly my favorite place to go in the area! It's a family business so it's a great mom and pops place.They serve homemade ice cream. One is water based and another is milk base. They also serve ice cream popsicles, and agua frescas which is basically fruit water. They also have some mexican snacks and frozen chocolate covered fruit (some days may vary). I'm assuming the she's the owner (because she's there every time I go there) is super nice. I get the mangonada and she always fills the cup up with ice cream! She's always pleasant! So if you're in the area and craving desert, I definitely recommend this place!

Wow, I haven't had Mexican snacks that taste this good.. they were delicious!!! The establishment is very clean, fast great customer service... they sell natural made ice cream and natural fruit sherbet. They also have tostilocos and tostielotes, fresh waters as well! We tried the tosti-locos and the tosti-elote and it was the best!!! 5/5 starts!!! The location is right off the 15 freeway so if you have a craving for a fast snack this is the place!!!

WOW! Stopped in by chance to escape from the heat and try a cool treat. So glad I did. These homemade ice creams are the best! The staff is super friendly. They encourage you to try a sample before you commit. With so many great flavors to select from, it was nice to be try a few. My favorite by far are the homemade, water based, fruit ice cream options. They have no added sugar, just the natural fruit flavors is what you taste. Highly recommend! The staff speaks English very well so don't be gun shy and fooled by the Mexican Michoacán roots. You will get by just fine! Enjoy

Homey vibes, friendly staff, and delicious ice cream. They offer a variety of dairy and non dairy flavors as well as shakes and snacks. I was impressed that they carried Mexican Vanilla, I personally haven't seen it in too many places. It definitely took me back to when I visited my Grandparent's pueblo. The Gansitos flavor ice cream also tastes EXACTLY like Gansitos, highly recommend if you like them. I now see why people call this the hidden gem of Lake Elsinore. Definitely coming here again whenever I'm in the area.

Used to really love this place and being able to support a local business. Sadly, ever since they changed owners I've had nothing but disappointing experiences. After weeks of not going tonight I decided to give it another try and more of the same thing. Only thing that wasn't thrown away were the hot Cheetos with cheese because how can you go wrong with something premade and ice cream that my kids would never pass up. My esquite had nothing but cheese, lime and hot Cheeto crumbs the corn was tasteless and hard, the strawberries in the fresas con crema tasted sour/spoiled and the agua cítrica was underwhelming. This place is amazing. I came a year or so ago and they had this mazapan agua Fresca. Best thing I ever drank in my life. I've been coming here a few times a month and their agua frescas are refreshing and delightful. I've tried the orange and pineapple, the guava lime pineapple ( I think those were the fruit blends) it's the green agua fresca, and their horchata. All really delicious. My kids have had their ice cream and they eat every bite. We've also gotten their tostilocos and again, delicious. I'll be coming here whenever we crave sweet treats. Can't forget their raspados. Hidden in the Cardenas shopping center is La Flor de Cotija. It's a small mom and pop shop that has great ice cream and popsicle/ paleta selections. They have great aguas frescas as well. What I love about this shop is that the owners are very friendly and take the time to have a conversation with you. They are willing to help with any menu questions you may have and if it wasn't for COVID, they would give you any samples you would want to try. They are definitely a lot friendlier than the competition down the street, and I'm always up for supporting a small business. If you are in the area, I'd definitely recommend to come give them a try. They will hook you up with some amazing Mexican treats. :) read more

WOW!!! That's all I can say. Holy smokes, this place is Incredible!! After a long hot day of moving, we stopped in for something cool and refreshing. I wasn't even in the mood for ice cream, but wanted something cold. After trying their free tasters, I honestly didn't know which to choose. I settled on their mango and strawberry (water based Mexican style). After getting my scoops, my girlfriend gave me a taster of the cheesecake and it tasted exactly like a cheesecake, but somehow in ice cream form. I was so happy with my choices and can't wait to come back. I could taste the fruit in every bite and it's no surprise since it's made fresh in house from authentic ingredients and not some type of chemistry mix you'd get at 31 flavors. You'd miss this store if you don't look for it. We stumbled across it while going to Cardenas. The man working was so nice and patient while my daughter asked to sample different ice cream, who then just settled on vanilla. Her first bite she said "mmmmmmm, yummy ice cream". I got the coconut scoop. I'll have to say, it's the best coconut ice cream I've ever had!! And I've traveled to Hawaii! Get that extra scoop of coconut, it's worth the calories! I promise! read more

I have been coming to La Flor de Cotija for years now!!! I love their home made ice cream and Antojitos! I live in LA now but every time I visit my parents, our whole family will come to this yummy place on Sunday's after dinner. Not only do they have the best ice cream in town but I love that a small family owns this place! They are the sweetest couple, and their kids are so kind and generous! La for de cotija offers all the classics found at traditional mexican ice cream parlors and more. Looked it up on yelp and this little gem came up, gave it a try and am completely amazed by their AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE, esquites, Aguas and delish ice cream. There was a gentleman and I believe his wife that were working there today, they were so nice and welcoming. Amazing people!!! Everything was so good. I've been to many places looking for the "right" esquite and let me tell u that this one was delicious, you can immediately taste the home made flavor... you could even see the epazote in it.
