Fantastic Central American food - the pupusas are great but the real stars for me are the Baleadas. They are delicious, freshly made, and perfectly chewy. The steak within is nice and smoky (if you get the Baleada gringa) and there is a huge assortment of options available overall. This place is always busy and therefore food turnover is high, so even the prepared food is fresh. My favorite thing on the menu is the atol de elote - which basically tastes like a visit to every ethnic person's grandmas house. Will return! read more

4 stars because the food is authentic Honduran food, but I recommend take out/ calling your order in ahead of time. This place is super small for dining in. I usually call my order in and then pick it up. My favorite is their baleadas and horchata. This is a homemade flour tortilla (usually soft and light) filled with beans (ground into a paste...like refried beans), cheese, and crema (liquid, creamy, cheese- kind of like sour cream). I get mine with sliced avocado but they offer them as I described above or with eggs, and more. The horchata is a sweetened milk like drink made from rice. They also have a ton of hot food to choose from--Spanish style spaghetti to various chicken, beef and more that is ready to serve or to go as you order. read more

I just discovered this place yesterday after a coworker brought some food in. I ended up going right after work. They were out of chicken empanadas, but offered to make me some from scratch. I took them up in their offer, and they did not disappoint. I ended up waiting like 45 minutes, but they were so hot and fresh. Absolutely amazing! I also got 3 tacos, 1 beef, 2 chicken. The tortillas were definitely homemade and delicious, but the tacos were missing something. Maybe onion or cabbage slaw would have improved them? They came with pico de gallo on the side and a small salad, which I didn't eat. I also got a fresh blackberry juice, which was very sweet, but very delicious and filling. My husband and I were in the area and decided to stop in for a quick bite, The food was delicious, however, the young lady that was sweeping decided that it was ok to start to mop the floor while we're were having breakfast, We found that to be very rude, what ever chemical she was using to mop was so strong I walked outside and vomit what I had just enjoyed eating. I prefer them over La Hacienda because the Hacienda's taste is not the same as before . That's just my opinion. Anyways, what I normally get here is , rice , spaghetti , lemon chicken , veggies . It all depends on my mood. I like that's it's ready to go. I love their different locations since it's way more spacious in the West Hempstead one. I love their baleadas and pupusas. So as I sit here, like I stated in my check in, this place seems legit in the sense of Honduran food. Me being born over there and being brought here at a young age I can't remember anything from over there. I used to go back for summer vacation when during my school years for 2 months at a time. Now the menu here reminds me of those years that have gone by. I opted for the "bandeja tipica hondureña" now I will say this in my almost 10 years of traveling to Honduras I never heard of this so called "bandeja" but the items on it were pretty much on point for the typical Honduran dishes, the one thing that I do not recognize was the egg choice on the plate. Seems to me more of a Colombian thing to do as they have egg on their "bandeja paisa". I took a menu as I would definitely return. So I stopped mid typing as I got my food and went home and ate it. I will say it was a good plate but wasn't impressed. I'll just say what I wasn't happy with, I've never heard of an egg on those plates, the "chorizo" is not authentic it's a regular Italian hot sausage, and the rice wasn't my cup of tea either. The beans,queso,avocado,and the carne asada were the truth, and definitely recommend by themselves. I will return to this place to get the "chuleta with tajadas" which is a Honduran staple.
