Longsilog and BBQ pork skewer
Chris P.

A good friend of mine told me about this hole in a wall spot in Long Island. This place is located in a parking lot behind a Tex-Mex place. At the entrance of place, there is a tiny supermarket and a buffet style where you can order freshly made meals. There are no combo meals except for breakfast on the weekends. We ordered the breakfast combo of longsilog, two fried eggs, and fried rice for $10. I also ordered a BBQ pork skewer for $3.50. The skewer was very good and worth the $3.50. The breakfast combo could be better if they had the option of garlic rice or fried rice. The longanisa was pretty good. I also ordered a pakbet to go but I was impressed. I also ordered ube turon, and that was good and not messy. I'd definitely return to check out more items. I'll inquire if they open on Thanksgiving or Christmas because it would be worth the trip to pick up items for a potluck.

Halo halo

My friend and I came here for dinner and it's definitely a quiet little shop and very unassuming but overall the owner and workers were very kind and served us quickly. The food was pretty good as well! A highlight was the halo halo, this was my first time trying this dessert and it is definitely unique and very fun! I haven't tried any other Filipino cuisine around here before so would love to do so but this place is definitely something to check out if interested!

This place will rip you off. I went here because my Filipino friend wanted me to help her buy sisig. They charged us a higher price of a large container but did not fill the container up. Poor and rude customer service. Rather go to Philippines best in Hicksville. Trust what other reviews said regarding dishonesty.

So glad I found this Filipino place in westbury. So close to home and do not need to drive to East meadow. You walk in and you order and then you can take it to go or there is a back area where you can eat and a small area in the front for snacks. All the food is already made so it's so quick to grab something on the go! My usual dishes here: Beef menudo, kare kare, pork sinigang, halo halo. I wish they had grilled pork but they don't. Sometimes they don't always have the same dishes every time you go so it's possible they swap back and forth.

Been going here for over two decades and will continue to go here. Since it's halo halo season definitely try that out. I usually get bbq and lumpia sariwa but it's only available on the weekends. The staff is always nice, especially Emma. It's a cute place and has parking!

OWNER IS A LOW KEY THIEF - BEWARE OF FOOD CHARGES

I hate hate placing ine star on small businesses BUT THE OWNER/CASHIER IS A THIEF. We ate there as a family of three (hubs and infant). We had two meals, two rice, and ONE SODA. Owner charged THREE SODAS AND THREE RICE. She does this ALL THE TIME, bec who really meticulously looks at receipts, right?? BEWARE, ALWAYS CHECK WHAT THE LADY CASHIER CHARGES. Attached is photo of the receipt

Some turo-turo food (you point (turo) your pick/s) and others made to order. No combos though. Get your food first, in pint or quart containers - priced by container size and whether it's a meat or vegetable dish. Table seating so add rice then eat. Mungo is ok. Pinakbet looked good with the mix of veggies, shrimp and some pork belly but our container was lacking squash. Binagoongan had some fatty pieces. Not salty cooking. Has a parking lot.

Been coming here with my family for many many years for dine-in, takeout and grocery. My favorite Filipino food on Long Island. Warm, caring and accomodating staff, great food and good grocery/snack selections. Can order ahead special requests and also catering trays for parties to go. Order in advance for major holidays. On the weekends there are more premium Filipino dishes and also silog breakfast combos. Everything tastes home made. The desserts are great too. I send people here in the summer for halo-halo cravings

I think this filipino spot has the best selection and price of all the filipino food restaurants on the island. It's always impeccably clean. The service is great. Very friendly and helpful. I think if you are weary about trying filipino food, this is the place to get your footing. The food looks approachable. The have clear labels on what the food is. And it is always fresh. I come here on the weekends to pick up filipino bbq, which is an absolute MUST have. Both the pork and chicken bbq are so delicious. Whenever my brother is in town from the Philippines, he always wants to come here to pick up the bbq particularly. The food store is small but has the common wants. Plus they are priced just right in comparison to other places. For some reason these place doesn't show up whenever you're trying to look up filipino places in long island, which is weird considering it's one of the OG filipino spots. It's truly a hidden gem and shouldn't be slept on.

Before COVID-19: This place brings so much memories. My family and I have been going here for decades after mass in Queens and take a few minutes drive into Westbury, Long Island for lunch. It's a favorite of my parents, especially to eat with relatives or friends who want comfort food and this is it. This is definitely a no-frills, small mom-and-pop. It feels like a homey Filipino restaurant when coming here... The interior is dated and decorated with paintings of the Philippines. Most of the patrons eating here are Filipinos from around or living in the city. It's part grocery store and part restaurant. There are several table seating for parties to dine-in. Guiradelco is also a turo turo restaurant: a point what you want, cafeteria style place. They also have a menu up top but the food in front changes everytime we come. The staples are always there though and one that we always order is the kaldereta! Their goat kaldereta is my favorite. The meat is super tender and the dish is super saucey. I love taking the sauce and adding it onto my rice like a curry because it's just that good! Of course, in breakfast or brunch time, we get some silogs, my favorite being tocino. Overall, I also grew up on their food. I can't think of a bad experience. I'm always left full and satisfied. It gets really sunny inside as well. The location is a bit strange where you have to drive behind a building into a parking lot to see the strip of businesses. The owner is super nice and loves talking to her regulars. Also note they do affordable catering here! We usually order ahead of time for New Years Eve party and is always a hit. Bathroom available. Accepts cash and card. Don't forget to check out the grocery in back! They have all the goodies to take home after being really full of Halo Halo... I usually end up with some Chippy and Jack n Jill with a side of calamansi juice. My mom likes getting bags of pandesal to-go. Mangaon ta!

A neighborhood staple that includes a restaurant and grocery store. Everyone there is super nice and the food is always delicious. My favorite is the crispy pata, which I would recommend calling in ahead on a busy weekend or holiday because those are popular and may need additional time (15-20min). It's clean, spacious and no frills kind of eat in place, perfect for casual dinners. Dessert selection is A plus.

This place has truly delicious food. It is an assuming store/storefront where most thing are…read morealready packaged but holy moly did it exceed my already high expectations. A friend recommended it and despite her high praise, even she undersold it. You must get the hummus (I opted for the pine nut) and Turkish eggplant dip (a small container of each will run you $9-10 so it is not cheap but it is worth it). Each dip has the perfect thickness (not to watery or too thick) and was delicious. I heard good things about the bourekas and they had a new brisket boureka out so I bought a pack (10 or so in the package for $22, sold frozen). You heat them in the oven or toaster oven at 350 degrees for 20min. They were absolutely delicious, perfect texture (crunchy outside, soft inside) and the meat inside had so much flavor. For dessert we bought the baklava and pistachio mamoul. Everyone raved about the baklava and I really liked the pistacho mamoul as they were not too sweet (don't let the powdered sugar on the outside fool you). A very kind lady helped me find everything (though if you spend 5min walking around the store which is not that big, you can find everything yourself). Again, everything we bought was absolutely delicious and while it is not inexpensive, you get your money's worth. Absolutely worth checking out, I would be a regular here.

I'm a huge falafel fan and it's surprising that this is the first time I tried this local store…read more They are stocked with excellent kosher and vegan specialties. I will surely come back and shop here for my family gatherings. The one small criticism I have: for many many years, growing up in Forest Hills, Queens, where we patronized an original great falafel place, I always came to order 2 HALF falafel, rather than a whole. It's much easier to eat it when cut (simple sandwich principle). This place charged me 2 x $8 for the halves, when a whole falafel is just $13. That's a big difference for what is essentially the same thing. Just saying.
