The owner and who i believe is the head chef (molino...?) are people that literally refuse to work with low quality ingredients, guaranteeing excellent food with colorful flavor! FOOD: oh my god, DELICIOUS!!! I personally ate half a plate of chicken francese (the lemon sauce? DELICIOU!! most places don't make the sauce taste like lemon, and i enjoyed the slight sourness to it!!" This is a pretty decent place, I live real close so I've been there a bunch of times. The place was just redone but my suggestion is that it adds pizza to the menu. I think it would increase its appeal a lot if it became a little more casual and diversified the menu more! Service is good. read more

Went on a Saturday night w Family and Friends (party of 6). The restaurant is on the bigger side, with a second level and an outdoor terrace available. It also has a bar facing into the dining room. Everything was done quite well. We received plenty of attention from the waitstaff throughout our visit. Everyone enjoyed their apps and meals. House made ciabatta bread was provided and replenished on request w/olive oil and butter available. We had fresh oysters, clams oreganato, zucchini flowers, Cesar salad and Pear salad. For dinners we ordered 2 pasta dishes, ala vodka and bolognese, eggplant parm, shrimp scampi w/mushroom risotto and a special order of chicken cutlet for a gluten free diner who the staff was happy to accommodate in every way. The espresso and house made desserts were also good, gelato, cannoli and cheesecake. After all that the staff brought us 2 large slices of cake to try and share. Just wanted to come on here and say thank you guys for always making my experience here so amazing. I've been coming here for years even before the new ownership. I have always loved them. I recommend them to all my friends even people I don't know just a great all-around brunch but today Mother's Day they do a buffet unlimited mimosa, Bellini, etc. I got on the buffet line and they did not have my favorite dish that day, which I understand. It's a buffet. I asked one of the servers (Sylvester) and he informed me that what's out is what they have, but it may change throughout the session which I totally understand because they have so many options you know it's easier I get it so I proceed with getting a plate for myself and my daughter and as I'm finishing up, he comes up to me and says there's a surprise for you waiting on the table. He had them make my favorite dish, which I appreciate with my whole heart and this is just one reason why they are so amazing as well as just walking in there hostess is very sweet!! She's always there greeting us with a smile on her face every Sunday that we've been there her name is Kaylen ! Also our server that we have was so attentive, friendly, and nice His name was Uriel. A wonderful time at La Fontana for Sunday brunch. This place offers 2 sessions on Sunday morning from 11-1 and again from 1:30-3:30. It is an all inclusive buffet with free mimosas and bloody Mary's. The food is pretty good as long as you make good choices. They offer quite an assortment of food including my favorites meatballs, smoked salmon, cooked salmon, beef cooked perfectly and sliced, they have an omelette station as well as many other options. The dessert table is stacked with delicious cakes including cheesecake, carrots cake as well as fresh fruits. The service once you're sitting is excellent with the guy that seat you filling your drinks as soon as it's empty. The crowd is festive with families all coming together for a great time. Notice is said once you're seated. To get seated it can be a wait. You would expect them to tell the early session people to get out after their two hours are up but they don't! We had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated. They make up for it though by giving us all the time we need. They had a party going on the loft and the music was great. So I won't make a fuss about the wait, besides he gave us mimosas and we were able to sample some food while we waited anyway. Nyack is a happening town with lots of young people as well as a great vibe. The old town with lots of old Victorian houses is a very pretty place to walk around. They have a nice outdoor patio when the weather allows which gives you much more seating options. Parking is a challenge though, while they do have a parking lot it fills up then you have to drive around and find a spot on the street. For those who won't read the entire review: I don't recommend. Bug in drink. Very over priced. Bad service because we're young. Two completely different bill totals. We order drinks and finish them, have to wait a while before we finally had to search for someone to get a refill. Not only do they not offer free refills on fountain drinks but there was A BUG in one of the drinks and the drinks for that round were not comped. Keep in mind it was 2 ginger ales. Which is actually ridiculous. The service was mediocre at best and unorganized. Admittedly, my party the youngest here by 20 years. From my experience I would say the table with older people we're getting good service whereas my party was left searching for someone to attend to us. I truly believe because we were young we didn't get good service. The food was okay, but over priced. We get the bill and it's around $85, we go to pay and it's all of sudden over $100. We assumed they added gratuity, right? Wrong. They added the round of drinks that had the bug in it. We didn't say a word. We paid and left because we knew we weren't coming back again. Needless to say I will not be returning, nor suggesting this place to anyone. Not worth $100. It was barley worth the $85. read more

We've been repeat customers over the years. We've had private events and it was the ideal place for us to meet because my mother still lives in the area; but after last night's (11/11/23) experience, we will definitely not return. Problems began with our server, Kiara. Her timing was completely off. First she wanted to take our order when we barely had a chance to sit, and when we were ready, it took her forever to return. I asked if it would be possible to order Chicken Francaise, though it was not a menu item. She went to check with the chef and returned to inform me I could. When the meals came out, the assistant server brought me veal instead of chicken. I sent it back and waited while the rest of my party ate. When they finally brought my "chicken" it was so tough, I could barely penetrate it with my fork. It had a rubbery consistency and was completely inedible. I ate the side of pasta, but returned the meal and mentioned I was not interested in ordering another. When dessert time came, Julie and I ordered cappuccinos while the rest of our party ordered lava cakes and coffees. Everything came out except our cappuccinos, and after some time, I told Kiara to cancel them because the rest of our group was nearly done. She unapologetically stated that the cappuccinos take longer to prepare than the other items, so I mentioned that in the future, it might be a better idea to prepare these before the other items, not after. Eventually the cappuccinos arrived, though we we no longer interested. When the bill arrived, it included a 20% gratuity, which in my opinion was undeserved. Apparently this practice for adding the gratuity is standard, because just 8 months earlier, we dined with another couple and the same thing occurred. It was as though the Kiara knew she was getting her tip anyway and made no effort to remedy our situation. A visit from the manager would have gone a long way, since we did nothing to hide our dissatisfaction. Apparently quality and service mean little to this establishment, and that's a shame, though not too surprising, considering the sparce number of diners in the establishment. How can I start this family style buffet brunch serving from scrambled eggs to a carving station of delicious roast beef to roasted lamb delicious. Believe me I am not a lamb eater but it was so tender and delicious I went for seconds -salads arugula with shaved Romano cheese red onions -thinly sliced pears with walnuts and dried cranberries and lastly-avocado chunks red onions tomatoes something like a guacamole but in chunks-eggs Benedict with Hollandaise sauce yummy-choice of desserts -chocolate mousse-cheese cake-tiramisu cake-carrot cake and more-and finally let's not forget the on going serving of Bellini -mimosas-bloody Mary delicious.let's not forget the people that make this all happen excellent waiters -chefs ect....I give it 4 stars only because the restaurant does need some upgrades like now -new paint job-new shades-new fans. read more

I've passed by la Fontana so many times exploring Nyack, I'm upset I didn't come sooner! Dropped in for early dinner on a Sunday and got sat immediately by a charming Italian gentleman. He asked if we wanted anything to drink while we waited for our server and his eyes grew wide when my husband ordered a double espresso to start, haha! The man needs his coffee. He left and we were served ice cold waters. Looking around, you can tell this is an old structure. They're still figuring out how to cool down this giant restaurant but it gives it an old rustic charm and the abundant and beautiful plants seem to thrive and love it. We then we're greeted by a young lovely server and she told us the specials. Already prepped for what we wanted to eat, I ordered the veal paillard that gets topped with tre colore salad and husband ordered the rigatoni albanese with chicken. While we waited we received bread for the table plus a plate with 2 bruschetta topped crostini. Fantastic. We try not to fill up on bread but having one crostini each was a treat. Husband threw back his espresso and said it was actually very good, I'll take his word for it since I didn't get to taste it! Once the food arrived it was plated very pretty. The tre colore salad had Parmesan shavings and a drizzle of balsamic and underneath was the thinly pounded grilled veal, wow--it was DELICIOUS. It came with a side of steamed vegetables that I barely touched and took home (I had plans for them later). My husband's rigatoni was also cooked perfectly, and the chicken pieces were flavorful, JUICY, and PLENTIFUL. He had some chicken, broccoli rabe, and white beans left over so I had them packed up with my steamed veggies. After we were STUFFED I wanted one thing I always crave...a cannolo. But my goodness, I was so full...I asked the server if I could order one and she said since I only want one it's on the house, GIRL WHAT?! I love it here. She gave me the cutest most perfect mini cannolo and it was the best bite ever. I left so happy. read more

I've been there several times for the brunch. It's amazing. They have breakfast lunch and didn't all in one a lot of food. It was a busy place a lot of talking you can't hear yourself chew. Lol parking is a little tough. I suggest you walk from South Nyack down but all in all it was very nice. It's a beautiful place in the summer. I used to come here all the time. Service and food used to be really great. It is just okay now. The bartender at the bar was friendly and really great. Now for the tables/service/food. Well....We waited and waited for our server to come and ask us for a cocktail. We had to flag him down after waiting 15 or so minutes. Everything seemed slow but the food came out real quick. Eggplant parmigiana tasted as if it came out of the freezer. Chicken parm was just okay. Seems the service and food has really changed. For the price, I think I'll go elsewhere. read more

Unlike NYC and (maybe, just m...a...y...b...e) a few spots in The BX, Westchester really trails way behind in the Unlimited-Mimosa-Brunch Movement; but a quick trip over the Tappan Zee.....no wait- it's the Mario Cuomo Bridge now- is La Fontana- in cozy, Nyack. Seating outside during the warm months is nice where you get to enjoy the Patio and this eye-catching water fountain- making for a relaxing Brunch. The Main Level dining room has large windows and has beautiful natural light. But here's the thing... There's a 2nd floor- so if you don't want your Brunch to also be an exercise session, sit downstairs and enjoy the convenience and views. Otherwise, you'll be trekking up and down the stairs, with your plate in hand and making sure you don't trip on the carpeted stairs. Yes... carpet. Mimosas are up and ready, but every so often, you may have to lock eyes with your server to remind them for that refill. Outside of that, La Fontana is a proven winner thus far, for an Unlimited Mimosa, AYCE Brunch under $30. read more

Inattentive We decided to take a trip to Nyack this evening for dinner and selected La Fontana as our destination. We do like Italian food. We walked in sans reservation but were still welcomed and shown to a table. With white tablecloths and a row of columns and archways the place had class. The youngest of us didn't like the place, too fancy she said. Hard to use logic with a 6 year old, so that didn't get us off to the best of starts. I had looked over the menu beforehand and had decided on their Penne alla Vodka, one of my favorite Italian dishes not counting pizza. Unfortunately, once we placed our orders it took about 25 minutes for the food to arrive. Table bread and some complimentary bruschetta made the wait not seem so long. I was a little disappointed with my Penne alla Vodka. I'm more used to a pinker cream sauce that would have a distinctive flavor, whereas this sauce had me wondering if it was instead a meat sauce. I still liked the dish but it wasn't what I was expecting. After arriving back at my hotel I looked up some recipes just to reassure myself the texture could have been a Vodka sauce. Inattentive service did not improve our visit. We never made a friendly connection with our server. While I can't blame the restaurant for the frustration with our 6 year old, waiting for our food too long didn't help. My soft drink was never refilled, no one asked. Once we finished and got our leftovers boxed it took so long for our server to stop by I had started timing it. One bright spot on this otherwise blah visit was someone from the restaurant chasing us down the sidewalk to return an item we had accidentally left behind. Wildly Inappropriate!!!!! I take my wife and our three children (14, 17 & 30) to a nice Mother's Day brunch as I do every year. We were having a great time and I was taking a picture at the table of my wife and our kids when the Host ( wearing white pants and a dark top and glasses) came up next to me, looks at my family and said "Say Sex!!" and walked away. We were all like "did this lady tell us to say sex?" We were taken aback. Waited a couple of minutes for my family to go up and get dessert and I approached her as she was talking to another table and I asked her if she had just told us to "say sex" She says "yes", the couple at the table looked at her and said "oh my god". So I said "you realize you said that to my wife and our children. That was really uncalled for and kind of disturbing." So she says "you want me to apologize?" I tell her "yes that's the right thing." My family is still at the buffet and she follows me back to my table sits next to me and apologizes. I tell that is fine but you really need to apologize to my wife and kids and she leaves. 10 minutes later she comes back and apologizes to the table. Then says "We'll what if I had said pizza instead of sex would you believe me? What is pizza really?" and starts staring at the ceiling. THEN SHE SAYS "DESCRIBE SEX????" So I'm like "what?" Then she goes "well what does sex really mean to you?" So I tell her she needs to stop and she keeps goin on. Then I tell her "look you are really ruining our Mother's Day please leave." THEN...She had the balls to look at me in the eye and say "if that's all it takes to ruin your day I'm sorry for you!" I told her to get away from from us. The buffet is outstanding! The food absolutely delicious and there's plenty of outdoor dining in the summertime. We had 12-15 people there for a buffet& everyone left happy. We went to La Fontana as a work group. It was a catered buffet so I was not able to try the individual dishes other than what was brought out in bulk. The dishes they served were chicken marsala, vodka penne pasta, salmon with cream sauce, sauteed vegetables, roasted potatoes, as well as a house and Caesar salad. It was all very tasty and the staff was quick to clear the tables and keep the food fresh. For dessert we had tiramisu, yellow and chocolate cake and ice cream. The cow overlooking the Hudson was great too. The restrooms were clean and we'll stocked. Although I do not drink, they had a well stocked bar. My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing and a 1-star rating is terrible read more

I went there for brunch. The atmosphere was very pleasant. There was a buffet spread and they provided unlimited mimosas/bellinis on a Sunday from 11AM to 3PM. There is outdoor seating with a nice Lower Hudson Valley river view with a lovely fountain (hence the name) in a courtyard style setting. The array of food & deserts is definitely the deciding factor for me to induct this place as a great "let's catch up" destination for me and the girls. Some of the worst food I've ever had. I had heard good things about this place so I was excited to try it. And when we first walked in everything looked lovely so I had high hopes. Big mistake. The service was terrible. Our waiter was distracted because he was flirting with other waitresses. Which meant it took 15 minutes for him to bring me a drink. The food itself was horrible. To start we ordered the arancini (which wasn't bad) and the spinach dip. The "dip" was a few chunks of spinach in milky water and probably ranks as the worst spinach dip I've ever had. For dinner I had the flank steak (over cooked with zero flavor) and my husband had a special (pasta with dried and flavorless lobster). Never ever going back there again. I spent most of the evening wondering if the people around me had any tastebuds. To top off the evening, when we left there was a homeless bum in the entrance alcove harassing people. The first thing I noticed when entering was that people were gathered at the front of the restaurant waiting for a table standing right up next to the food and desserts-which we on a low table-not sanitary at all. Even though it was cold out, the restaurant was overheated to the point of being uncomfortable. Eventually, the heat was lowered and it actually became chilly. The food at the buffet was not labeled so there were a few mysteries and the eggs benedict(?) were runny. The bathroom was dark, paper towel machine was empty and the hooks were missing from the doors. They seem to have a gold mine in this location so putting some money into fixing these situations seems like it would be worth it. read more
