Located in the out-of-the-way lost river area, La Forchetta is a cute little family-owned Italian restaurant serving made-from-scratch dishes. They state that for the past 16 years they have used fresh ingredients in all their dishes and you'll notice that fact in every dish. The Ambiance: This lovely little restaurant reminds me of the bistro's I enjoyed in Venice. Get there early as it's always packed and there's not that many tables. They also offer several tables for outside dining. The Service: La Forchetta lost a star here as the service was slow and perfunctory at best. Our server couldn't seem to get her act together and seemed to be flustered by anything out of the norm. If I was to guess, having owned a few restaurants myself, I'd guess she was new and overworked having more tables than she could handle. The Food: A good sign of the quality of your meal is the quality of the salad and bread. Although this time we skipped the salad, the bread, or more precisely the garlic rolls featured the perfect balance of garlic butter and were good enough to be a meal unto themselves. After gorging on the rolls, we decided to share the calamari which turned out to be oh so crispy, and unlike so many other overly chewy offerings, was mouth watering tender. For our entrees, we chose the Penne pasta which was made al dente and featured a wonderfully robust bolognese sauce. Our second entree was the lobster filled raviolis which featured an amply filled fresh lobster covered in a creamy pink sauce. For desert we shared the house specialty tiramisu which was good but not necessarily memorable. The Bottom Line: As with all my reviews my "customer so what" would I come back... the answer is yes, because the food was so good, we'd try it again and hopefully the service would be up to the food. read more

Tried dinner for first time with friends. I've been here for lunch wasn't impressed probably wouldn't have returned but our friends wanted to meet here they love it! Glad we gave it a second chance now I know why people rave about it! Food was excellent best eggplant rollantini I've ever had tasty perfect spicy sauce. I had pasta with olive oil and garlic was cooked perfectly. Hubby had a chicken dish special first time he's eaten it all not taking any home! Mine was plenty to take home and savor! Went with friends, haven't been here for a while. Still was yummy!! I had the chicken Milanese salad it was enjoyed. Husb and friend had a chicken special that they really liked. Well today is my birthday and this is where I chose to celebrate with my family. Honestly the food here is the best Italian food I have eaten since I left NY. Only one negative- we made a reservation and noted the birthday no one said or did anything about it. Now I recognize that in today's world food prices are up, other issues affecting each business but a simple recognition would have been nice. I had the best soup ever pasta fagioli!!!!! Husband had meatballs with rigatoni and son had chicken Parmesan. I also indulged with a Red Cabernet that was quite delicious!!!! Our Gang of 6 enjoyed a mid-week dinner at La Forchetta. Sicilian Italian. I enjoyed the Prix Fixe Octoberfest special of mussels with cannellini beans, Osso Buco, and dessert of ice cream. Espresso dessert topping was missing. The mussels were extraordinary, and could have been the main course. With a glass of Chianti. Extra tasty: Garlic Knot bread, complimentary. I had dinner here last night with my wife and a friend and the food was unbelievably tasty. I had the salmon and saffron sauce with beans not on the venue but if you ask, they'll make it for you, it used to be a menu item and it's the broccoli Rob was cooked perfectly, which I had as a side dish and my wife had the snapper with Tuscan beans fantastic and our friend had the Bronzino with Tuscan beans and again super good. This might be one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the United States and I highly recommend it. read more

It really is that good. Very authentic. This is actually our second time here, not sure what happened to my first review but here goes. Was an anniversary dinner. We brought a special bottle of wine and paid the reasonable corkage fee. Course1: Appetizer. Mini Meatballs in a Gorgonzola cheese sauce with Crostini. Umm, yes please. I would even say there were larger than mini meatballs, more on the medium size. 8 in total. Course2: Ceasar Salad. First time we went here we said this was the best Ceasar we have ever had. Second time we still said it was great, but first place was just days earlier in Vermont at a brewery; You could tell the new first place croutons were homemade from days old bread. Just slightly better overall. Course3: Cavatelli, Butter Beans and Burrat. Just so fresh and feel good tasting if that makes sense. Was so glad that I had a bit left over so I could eat it the next day! This might have even been my favorite dish of the night. Course4: Chicken Al Miele with a side of angel hair and red sauce. Can't find this on the online menu but believe it was made with honey and maybe apricots; We had this the first time as well. Again was very very good, but I will try something else next time. Course5: Limoncello Tiramisu (Mascarpone) Cake. Very light and delicious. NOTE: $ CC Convenience fee The only 'ding' was the waitress was slightly aggressive with 'ready to order, ready to order?' It's time to update my review of LaForchetta, the family-owned gem in Stuart, Florida. Calling it the best and most authentic Sicilian Italian restaurant is truly an understatement. The creativity and passion in every dish is palpable, and it shows in the dining experience. We eat here all the time and certainly have our favorites, but last night, as my husband and I celebrated our Anniversary at LaForchetta, we couldn't resist ordering from Francesca's special menu. It was a culinary adventure that once again opened our eyes to the delights of authentic Sicilian cuisine. My husband, a Chianti lover, found a new favorite in their Montepulciano--rich, smooth, and a touch lighter than his usual choice. For appetizers, I selected the artichoke Franchese, which was light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor, perfectly balanced with a hint of lemon. My husband enjoyed the mini board featuring soppressata, fresh mozzarella, and toasted bread, accompanied by a thick, rich balsamic drizzle. It was fresh and delicious, without being overwhelming. It's anything but mini btw. For my main course, I chose the pappardelle with roasted pepper sauce and sausage. The sausage, sourced from a family in New Jersey, is one of my favorites. The dish featured generous chunks of sausage tossed delicately with a light sauce, and the pappardelle was cooked to perfection--rich yet surprisingly light. My husband opted for his go-to, the Chicken Mediterranean. It was incredibly tender, with the combination of banana peppers, olives, and balsamic creating a heavenly flavor profile. This dish is on the regular menu for a reason, it's fabulous!!! The special menu offered a fantastic variety, even including dessert. I indulged in the light and fluffy mini tiramisu with fresh whipped cream, while my husband savored the house-made cinnamon gelato, also topped with whipped cream. Don't expect small portions from the special menu; we struggled to finish everything, and we're not exactly light eaters! The ambiance is inviting, and you'll leave feeling eager to return. La Forchetta's food is always consistent and delicious; however, the service just doesn't match the quality of the food or the prices. We've been 3-4 times and each time we comment that the food is spectacular but the service is just "off". On this particiular visit, my husband and I split a Caesar salad, a pasta dish (which is billed as a primi course), and a main chicken dish (which is labeled second course), and expected them to come out staggered so we could enjoy the meal. However, the waitress brought the latter two dishes at the same time, so we felt a bit rushed. We then had the lemoncello cake, which was light and oh so scrumptious. At the end of the meal, the waitress came by to return our credit card so we could sign and add in gratuity, she didn't say thank you for coming in or ask if we enjoyed our meal, she just placed the bill down, pivoted, and walked away. Was told they needed 15 minutes I waited as they loaded massive catering orders into two different cars People were packed inside like sardines waiting for regular take out service. 15 minutes later no order. I asked for money back. Man sort of snarled at me. No apology. He asked order number and then made a nasty remark saying next time he would give me cold fish! Don't even know what he meant since I didn't order fish! So I just walked out and told him I don't think he'd speak to me like that if my husband was with me. He almost threw the money at me. After mentioning it to the waiter (who was very apologetic and courteous) he took it the manager, who took a WHOPPING 15% off the check! If you don't mind that kind of treatment, then give it a try! We have been dining with these folks for over 20 years. We started with them when they were located on Mapp Road and stayed with them when they relocated to the current location. We stayed with them when they began charging the 3% "convenience fee". We love their food. However, we have now reached our limit in compromising. We dine with them about twice a month and due to their limited wine selection, we tend to bring our own and pay the corkage charge. Recently they increased their corkage fee to $30! That is outrageous. They are now charging more than the "high end" Italian restaurants in the area. For example, Pepe & Sale or Piatto Divino charge $20 or $25 for corkage. It's a shame after all these years to have to switch dining loyalties but as a matter of principle I refuse to get ripped off. read more

2 stars, for the "inconvenience fee" they charge you for using a card. Clover has no fees and if they tell their current processor that they will not be charged for using their service, they will waive fees. Anyway, excellent food as always. 5 stars for flavor and portion size, which, in my opinion, makes it the best Italian restaurant that I know of in 30+ miles. I would love to try their pizza, however I live too far away and can't NOT order veal parmigiana when I'm there. The desserts too are super delicious and worth saving room for. read more
