Very old school, they write your ticket by hand, decor from last century but not in a bad way. Huge portions but very tasty. Better than I expected. The clams casino were really stuffies if you are a New Englander but they were excellent. Really good garlic knots. I enjoyed the scampi. The salad was ok at best but the people got the minestrone enjoyed it. Wine and beer only, we enjoyed a moltepulciano.

On a whim, and because one of my lunch dates was an 11 year old who really, really wanted Pizza, we dined at this restaurant for lunch. Very dark restaurant, but the elder server was very friendly, with a wonderful sense of humor, which helped to lighten the darkness of the restaurant. It was wonderful, too, that the 11 yo was chatty so we were able to see the restaurant with the wonderment and awe of the little cutie. She provided discourse on every aspect of the restaurant! It is unfortunate, that the older server was not the one to wait our table. Although the woman who served us was efficient, she was dry, abrupt. Additionally, when I called her to the table, she says to me, "what do you want." I paused, on my way to giving a good cussing out and saw the 11 year old looking at me askance. Dang it! Didn't want to show off in front of her. Instead, I said simply, I beg your pardon. The server repeats, "what do you want." Ooh! The things I wanted to say. I'm sitting in a two-bit shopping center, paying for a 5 star meal, and you're going to be rude!! WTF. Again, grateful the 11 yo was with us. The server must have been raised by wolves! That is not the way to address a customer, especially given the quite high prices of that establishment! The food is good! Though I didn't care for what I ordered (shrimp in egg batter, lime), the breads were WONDERFUL; the pizza was GREAT! And the salad! Oh the salad! Fresh, wonderful! And the homemade Italian dressing was perfection, itself! This could/should have been a 4-5 star review. A server should NEVER say WHAT DO YOU WAN to a customer -- not even in a dive bar! Prices are high, food is good, exceedingly poor service from younger server.

This family-owned restaurant truly gives me joy. You walk in, and you're immediately greeted by one of the owners' family members. They make it a point to remember your name and your order, and to have a brief chat with you when they have a minute to spare. Most of the customers are regulars and local families, and the restaurant is filled with warmth and laughter at all times. These small, but irreplaceable interactions are what I truly missed during the pandemic, and what I will definitely cherish from now on. Mario's not only has great service, but their meals are superb. I say meals, because with their generous portions, you'll definitely be packing some leftovers to heat up at a later time. All of their entrees come with a salad (the dressing is to die for) and a warm bread basket, both made in-house. The spaghetti with white clam sauce I order is gargantuan, overloaded with giant pieces of clam, white wine sauce, basil and cheese. I am so glad to be back dining in at Mario's, and to see the owner's family doing well after the pandemic reopenings. Cheers to the return of dine-in experiences :)

They state that for the past 16 years they have used fresh ingredients in all their dishes and you'll notice that fact in every dish. The Ambiance: This lovely little restaurant reminds me of the bistro's I enjoyed in Venice. Get there early as it's always packed and there's not that many tables. They also offer several tables for outside dining. The Service: La Forchetta lost a star here as the service was slow and perfunctory at best. Our server couldn't seem to get her act together and seemed to be flustered by anything out of the norm. If I was to guess, having owned a few restaurants myself, I'd guess she was new and overworked having more tables than she could handle. The Food: A good sign of the quality of your meal is the quality of the salad and bread. Although this time we skipped the salad, the bread, or more precisely the garlic rolls featured the perfect balance of garlic butter and were good enough to be a meal unto themselves. After gorging on the rolls, we decided to share the calamari which turned out to be oh so crispy, and unlike so many other overly chewy offerings, was mouth watering tender. For our entrees, we chose the Penne pasta which was made al dente and featured a wonderfully robust bolognese sauce. Our second entree was the lobster filled raviolis which featured an amply filled fresh lobster covered in a creamy pink sauce. For desert we shared the house specialty tiramisu which was good but not necessarily memorable. The Bottom Line: As with all my reviews my "customer so what" would I come back... the answer is yes, because the food was so good, we'd try it again and hopefully the service would be up to the food.

The last four or five 'highly recommended" Italian restaurants in the Jensen Beach/Stuart area we tried were OK to even pretty good but not at all memorable or begging another visit so we always went back to our favorite. Felt a little guilty coming here but WOW-we were blown away. We ate here twice before writing this review because I wanted to make sure our first visit wasn't a fluke. On the first visit my wife ordered Shrimp Linguine Fradiavolo which was a generous portion of shrimp over linguine with a wonderfully spicy marinara sauce. (She let me try it). I ordered Gnocchi Sorrentina which I customized to my preferences. Substituted marinara for meat sauce and added some charred Italian sausage. Probably the best gnocchi I've ever had. Portions of both dishes were large enough to take back to enjoy for lunch the next day. On our second visit, my wife had Spaghetti Al Pomodoro and I tried Veal Marsala. Both were north of wonderful! During both visits we also enjoyed fresh garlic bread. Uncle Guiseppe's is busy and noisy. Service is so good you don't notice the "busy" once you're seated. This was our best restaurant find this trip.

Let me start by saying, I have had hundreds of cauliflower pizzas, from many different restaurants. I can't seem to find anywhere that makes them right. I ordered the cauliflower Quatro fomaggi pizza... My husband picked the order up a few minutes past it's prime so we got it a bit cold. Despite the pizza literally being cold by the time it got to my house, it was NO JOKE the best cauliflower pizza I have had in my life. The flavors were spectacular, cheeses were savory and sweet, sauce was ridiculously flavorful and enjoyable. My husband got some lasagna and he enjoyed it thoroughly. We also got the gluten free chocolate mousse cake and it was decadent and sweet. We split it and it was so full of flavor, one slice was enough for us to share. My husband recounted that he's been struggling to eat meals recently and this meal literally brought back his enjoyment for food. We enjoyed the food a lot. I will most definitely be coming in for a sit down experience for the best cauliflower pizza I've ever had in my life. If it's that good cold, I can't imagine how good it is hot. It was so nice to enjoy some high quality food and to be able to stay gluten free

My sister ordered the Rigatoni Boscaiola with a chicken cutlet on it. Looking at the chicken, it was visibly pink, and she understandably didn't feel comfortable eating it. We informed our server, who apologized, but the plate never left our table and was never taken to the kitchen for anyone to inspect. We ended up removing the chicken to a separate plate ourselves. When the bill arrived, the chicken was still included. After we asked about it, the server told us the chef said, "It's just a vein." Please see photo attached as the chicken is visibly pink and we are aware what a vein looks like. That was extremely frustrating because the chef never actually saw the chicken after we raised the concern--the plate remained at our table the entire time. We weren't looking for a free meal. We simply wanted our concern to be taken seriously and for someone to inspect the chicken before dismissing it. Instead, we paid for chicken my sister no longer felt comfortable eating. The other pasta dishes and appetizer were fine, and had our concern been handled appropriately, we wouldn't have left a review at all.
