The food was okay. I mean, the carbonara was absolutely excellent; sadly, that's about all I can vouch for. The chicken rice bowl was astoundingly awful. Dry rice, unripe avocados, and absolutely no flavor. So much for a "special." The pizza was soupy and had zero structural integrity. The service was okay, nothing special. Nice ambience, that's one of the redeeming factors.

I'd give it a four but the menu was limited. Food was fresh and the salad could be shared by two. The breads left me wanting more but there was a line and they were a bit understaffed.

You do not want to miss this!! We accidently found this place thanks to the taxi driver. It was a great awesome find. Amazing food!! We tried the beet Risotto, ravioli, fresh artichokes and bruschetta. All amazing!! It's a small place but they move people in and out fast. It's right by Castel Sant'Angelo so you can walk over and explore that. It's also close to the Vatican. Hope you enjoy!

This was the perfect spot to enjoy a quick lunch before visiting the Vatican Museum! I visited with my mom and brother in July 2021. We dined inside so that we could enjoy the air conditioning, as well as the neat interior design! The staff was super friendly, and even brought us a "gift" of fried pasta before our meals were served! I would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Vatican City.

This was my favorite meal in ALL of Italy. Rio Maggiore: Nope Milan: Nope Rome: Alfredo alla Scrofa (super close 2nd!) It is the BEST CARBONARA I've ever eaten. I may never be able to eat it again bc of this place! (Thank you?) House Appetizer is a MUST ORDER Arabiatta was super effing good too I lost my face in the largest mug of Peroni draft (twice ) beer they have. Just go here. It's a short walk from Vatican and just over the Santangelo Bridge. AND HERE IS THE KICKER: The staff is sooooooo cool!!!! Cool = Attentive, personable, genuine, and seemingly very happy to be there! God I wish I lived close to them!!! I'd love to be able to eat those super perfectly sundried tomatoes and whatever that pickled pepper was...with four or five different meats with fresh bread toasted with a little refectory light sprinkle of mozzarella. Definitely going back when I return to Rome. The way the flavor exploded on the granular sized salt or pepper or bacon or cheese with my favorite perfectly cooked al dente pasta. I can't stop. I. Want. To. Remember. Every. Bite.

This was the best restaurant we ate at during our nine days in Italy, France and Spain. The wait staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. We had the antipasti appetizer which came served on two wood planks and had five different cold cuts (prosciutto, capocollo, ham, and two types of salami), liver pate, olives, eggplant, mozzarella, and pork cheek (crispy skin with a soft fat layer, tasted like bacon). There was more than two of us could eat! We also got the carbonara, which was the best we'd ever tasted. Along with dinner we had their house white wine, which resembled a good Pinot Grigio. We were looking for a restaurant that was away from the typical tourist areas and were not disappointed! Worth the approximately 15 minute walk from the Vatican, across the river.

A group of my friends and I came to visit Rome and at this place because of the Yelp reviews... and I'm glad we did! The waiter brought us a bunch of appetizers, so we tried the Bruchetta (really good), the ham and mozzarella plate (the bread with the cheese spread was our favorite.. it also came with sundried tomatoes, black olives, and another cheese), the antipasti plate (meat plate aka house appetizer on the menu) and a salad. Most of them didn't like the flavor of the salad. We then split four pasta dishes, two from their regular menu and two from their specials menu. I thought we'd have some favorites, but it turns out that everyone was really divided because they really enjoyed all of them. We got the carbonara, the cacio e pepe (sheep cheese and pepper), the fresh pasta with peas and sausage, and the spinach ravioli with bolognese sauce, all served al dente. The tiramisu was served in a cute little dish with a lid and my friend is obsessed. She said it's some of the best she's had. This was a ton (plenty) of food for seven of us. In fact, we had quite a decent amount left over. Our server Andrea was the best!! He made our experience great and we laughed the whole time. Great stop! Glad we found it!

We walked around few blocks looking for good place to eat based on Yelp review. There were alot of locals diners at this place. We were really excited to try authentic pasta, unfortunately pasta we ordered was not tasty at all. It was hard n felt uncooked. Ambiance is nice. I liked wall covered with napkin written messages by diners.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Already depressed knowing we were returning to the cold and fearful Minneapolis, we spent the day packing and wandering Prati. After drowning our sorrows at a few cocktail emporiums in the early evening, we walked into Su e Giu without a reservation close to 9:30. The two guys working the front showed us to a table, and we proceeded to have a perfect last night meal. Our appetizers and pastas were great, service was friendly, and I spent time reflecting on how wonderful Rome is, rather than thinking about our return to the fractured States. Su e Giu Cucina Romana is the perfect Roman restaurant to feel La Dolce Vita. It is a sweet life indeed.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.
