Great value for the money. We left the Castel de St Angelo and we're ready to find a good spot to eat. This was one of the many outdoor cafes close-by. It had colorful placemats and was full of diners inside and outside. We were seated outside right away and given menus. We ordered anti pasti with meats and cheeses, pasta with crispy pork and egg, caprese salad and chocolate cake. There seemed a back up in the kitchen and it took a long time to get served. The wait staff were very apologetic. When the food arrived, all was forgotten, because it was so delicious! The pasta was very rich, and the "crispy pork" aka, bacon, was fabulous. The meats and cheeses were very fun to eat and try. Great dinner tonight. Started with the prosciutto and mozzarella balls with arugula. Spot on! I had the braised ox tail and it was delicious. Tender and seasoned well, I happily ate it off the bone with my hands. My BIL had the lasagna. It was sizzling hot and had a smoky, but very tasty flavor to it. If you like cheese, this baby's got it. My wife had the ravioli special and it was very flavorful and melted in my mouth when I ate it. It's a simple place with a simple menu. This was the perfect spot to enjoy a quick lunch before visiting the Vatican Museum! I visited with my mom and brother in July 2021. We dined inside so that we could enjoy the air conditioning, as well as the neat interior design! This was the best restaurant we ate at during our nine days in Italy, France and Spain. The wait staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. We had the antipasti appetizer which came served on two wood planks and had five different cold cuts (prosciutto, capocollo, ham, and two types of salami), liver pate, olives, eggplant, mozzarella, and pork cheek (crispy skin with a soft fat layer, tasted like bacon). There was more than two of us could eat! We also got the carbonara, which was the best we'd ever tasted. Along with dinner we had their house white wine, which resembled a good Pinot Grigio. A group of my friends and I came to visit Rome and at this place because of the Yelp reviews... and I'm glad we did! The waiter brought us a bunch of appetizers, so we tried the Bruchetta (really good), the ham and mozzarella plate (the bread with the cheese spread was our favorite.. it also came with sundried tomatoes, black olives, and another cheese), the antipasti plate (meat plate aka house appetizer on the menu) and a salad. Most of them didn't like the flavor of the salad. We then split four pasta dishes, two from their regular menu and two from their specials menu. I thought we'd have some favorites, but it turns out that everyone was really divided because they really enjoyed all of them. We got the carbonara, the cacio e pepe (sheep cheese and pepper), the fresh pasta with peas and sausage, and the spinach ravioli with bolognese sauce, all served al dente. The tiramisu was served in a cute little dish with a lid and my friend is obsessed. She said it's some of the best she's had. This was a ton (plenty) of food for seven of us. This a a great local Roman eatery with many great offers. It was actually recommended by many locals! We order a meat and cheese tray for the appetizer and it was very good. I ordered the oxtail stew and it was delicious. My friend ordered the wild boar pasta and it was a good order as well. We enjoyed the food and experience. I went to several restaurants and dined on bland boring overpriced pastas...I was actually in search of a McDonalds when I happened upon this restaurant and decided to give authentic Italian one last try. Quaint little place. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Prices were also very good. Servings were large enough that we didn't finish our meals. Walls were decorated with napkins with messages from guests, so it was fun to read the messages and gave the restaurant a fun feeling. My boyfriend and I stumbled into this restaurant after trying to find shelter during the thunderstorm and heavy rain fall this afternoon. Their draft beer was blonde, crisp, and refreshing. I ordered the "Porkettab" and my boyfriend ordered the "Arrabbiata." The pork sandwich had tender meat, smoky and sweet whole jalapeños peppers, and a flavorful chef sauce. Also, the side of broiled potatoes had generous amounts of olive oil and crispy rosemary. In addition, the Arrabbiata was pretty much another version of spaghetti without meat. However, the pasta was well cooked, had a flavorful garlic tomato sauce and a strong parsley aroma with each bite. Overall, we could have had better service because the kitchen staff were having a beer at the table beside our table. It wasn't until we put in our order that our server told the kitchen staff to make our food. But I guess we were two young American adults who stumbled into the restaurant all wet, which made it hard for them to take us seriously as customers. read more

Not only is the food mouth watering, the atmosphere familial and endearing, but you are also just a short walk away from my favorite bridge, the Bridge of Angels that leads you to Castel Sant Angelo. Read reviews about this place and made a reservation for a Friday evening (highly recommended). The atmosphere and staff were exactly what we were looking for after dealing with Rome crowds. Friendly and engaged, going out of the way to call me by name all evening. I liken this place to an American BBQ joint in atmosphere and pricing. A place where the menu has the staples, daily specials and a down to earth feel. They have a mixed antipasti consisting of meat, cheese, etc. for 12 euro that the entire restaurant was ordering, which appears to be a great value. Great house wine, perfect sized pasta dishes, fresh porchetta (which is included on the mixed plate). Our first meal was 45 euro and we had so much fun that we asked a reservation for the next night, which they happily obliged. We loved our table location, which was inside, but right on the door edge for fresh air (without too much of the smoking), so we asked for the same location. When we returned, the table was reserved and setup so as to allow us both to sit facing out, like at a bar table. Once, again less than 50 euro. Suggest to make reservations and, if not, arrive early, as the local crowd begin filing in closer to 10p. It is not a big space, which likely ensures the accommodating staff. Can be a bit noisy and ruckus, but its exactly what we hoped for. Will return...............located about a 5-10 minute walk from Piazza Navona. read more
