I'm all for a leisurely cafe vibe, and don't mind waiting at all, but a plain croissant shouldn't take 15-20 minutes. Not only is their coffee roasted fresh daily, but the quality is unmatched for a reasonable price. My order is simple, a honey Cold Brew, so essentially it is a cold brew, black, with honey and you can only really tell if coffee is good if you can drink it black, and sure enough. Honestly I really really wanted to like this place, my family and I moved into the area about a month ago and have been starting to explore the city a bit more. I saw this place on Yelp and was quite excited because of the good reviews but I wish I would have listened to the bad reviews as well. The first gentleman who greeted us and took our order at the front was the sweetest person and was quite helpful. Where it all went wrong for us was when we asked the employee who was making the drinks to help us out. We ordered two matcha drinks, one came out beautifully but the second one came out very milky with chunky matcha which means that they didn't mix it well enough to dissolve the matcha into the milk. I tried to drink some of it but I could literally taste the granulated matcha powder and it just wasn't consumable at all. I go up to the employee who was making the drinks and politely asked if it would be possible for her to remake it and she said that "it was fine but that she would take a while to make it" I said it was fine since we were still waiting for our food to come out and I was expecting her to take maybe 5-10 mins to make my drink. But no she proceeded to finish all her other drink orders before remaking the one she messed up. Our food came out (which was mediocre at best, it actually made our stomachs hurt a bit to be quite honest) and we still talked and finished our meal and still no drink. She proceeded to make a matcha latte which I assumed was mine but as I'm about to get up to get it, she flairs her hands up pointing at me and yells across the caffe "it's not yours! It's not yours, it's for someone else!" I ended up asking for a refund on the drink because my family and I were over it. And as we're stepping out I hear her yell out that the matcha was finally ready (I obviously didn't grab it as I had already gotten my refund) I don't know if I'm in the wrong here but typically if an employee messed up on an order aren't they supposed to prioritize that order since that customer has been waiting the longest, and it's not the customers fault that the employee messed up?? I don't know, I felt like I was genuinely super nice and don't know what I did to make them angry. In a nutshell, I give this place one star just for that supper sweet guy who attended us in the beginning but from there it all went straight down hill and would honestly give it 0 stars. read more

I order the short stack because I only had a little time to eat, but I had to send the plate back because the pancakes were burnt my second round Were a little better however there were no forks. Their matcha isn't pre-sweetened which is awesome seeing as how most places I frequent don't have that option available! Their breakfast sandwiches are customizable and delicious! The food is a solid "ok" but the biggest red flag is- I ordered a chai latte that tasted weird. Took two sips and then asked if I could exchange it for a lemonade. I was told they "don't do refunds or exchanges". Which I have NEVER been told from a place that sells food. What if I was served food with a hair in it? The policy is trash just like their lattes. It was our first and last time going there. Find a different place to get your lattes unless you like the taste of cardboard and terrible customer service. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED. If I could rate this lower than the one star I would rate this place 0/5 stars. The customer service here is ABSOLUTELY SADDENING. All and every one of the workers who worked this morning shift treated my family and I like we were a complete bother. First and foremost, we ordered ONLY 2 breakfast sandwiches... 2 simple bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches. Why does it take 40 minutes to make 40 minutes to make 2 breakfast sandwiches? My husband and I were checking on our food and all of the staff members either ignored us or took other customer before us. I checked on our food eta the first time and my husband's sandwich was just sitting there cold while 3 workers made coffees stead of serving the food that was already ready. Mind you while I am waiting for someone to help me I am completely and utterly ignored until I'm acknowledged very rudely by one of the workers. I asked the worker if my sandwich is ready and she proceeds to walk past me to serve another table and tried to walk my food to our table while I am standing in front of her instead of handing it to me. The second time I check on my sandwich eta I just ask for it to-go because we are waiting an hour at this point. I see my sandwich ready and ask one of the workers if they can just pack it up for me and she looks at the sandwich and says it's an "online order" and if I just want a refund. UHM NO I ordered the sandwich and wanted it to-go not a refund. So I told her no and that I wanted an ETA on the sandwich so that they can pack it up for me, she proceeds to walk back out to the kitchen to only come back out to pack up the sandwich that she said was an "online order"... This is an honest review and hopefully the management at La Gare cafe can reel their staff in to have common decency with taking care of their customers. read more

This is probably the best meeting place for causal food and drink in Perris. Friendly staff, good menu selections, and overall ambiance lends weight to informal as well as serious business talks.
