I usually don't write reviews, but for Hung, I will. I came in for an oil change and a maintenance check (which I am not good at keeping up with). My car had a dent on the rear bumper and has been making a screeching sound, so I was hoping I could get those problems fixed too. Hung and his team did not disappoint! They got the dent out, changed my oil, and replaced my drive belt! I wish I took a before and after photo for this review. He also gave me a breakdown for the services before beginning and asked if I felt it was fair and if I was comfortable, which I really appreciated. So, I blew out my rear differential on my 2018 WRX. It then led to my transmission failing. After the car was at the Subaru dealership for 4 weeks, and them denying both warranty coverage and voiding my warranty on those parts, the inspector working for Subaru corporate came back with an estimated $10,480 repair and they wanted to replace a whole bunch of unnecessary things. I'm not stupid and I know the dealership likes ripping people off, but they were right that I needed to replace my differential and transmission, the thing is though, I had no need for a new transmission or differential. Talking with one of my friends, I was referred to Hung, and I'm so happy that this is who I ended up working with. Hung responded to my millions of texts within the span of minutes almost every day, and once I was ready, I had the car towed from Subaru to Hung's shop. My car was under repair for less than a week, just as Hung had promised, he even went above and beyond in terms of sourcing my parts and found me a better deal, and I ended up getting a transmission and differential off of a 2019 WRX that only had 3000 miles on it! Hung was upfront about all costs, he's the most honest mechanic I've ever dealt with, and has the best prices you can possibly find. My own family mechanic was about 5x more expensive than Hung and Hung did it faster and better and cheaper than my other mechanic would've. In the end, Hung ended up saving me about $6,000 from what the dealership wanted to charge me, and that in of itself is amazing. Dealing with Hung, you'll see that he truly does care, and he takes time to work with you and does everything he can to get your car back by the time he estimated. Hung is extremely trustworthy and the quality of his work is amazing. Any time I went to check on the car while it was being repaired, Hung was working on it. He does work on all cars but specializes in imports, which is great. Hung asked me to come back the week after I picked my car up so he could do another inspection, and he lifted my car and made sure everything was working right, just because he really cares about his work and his reputation. I really only trust Hung to work on my car, and I hope I never have to go back in for a repair, but I'd happily go in for him to add some stuff to my car if I ever want to. Being a girl with no knowledge of the working of a car except for refueling and bringing the car in to get an oil change when the light indicator goes on, I used to dread taking my car to the repair shop. Before having Hung as my mechanic, I once got tricked by a dishonest individual into paying $500 for a car tire (when the tire should cost about $120-$140 for my car). Mike was very cool. I was just cruising around the area looking for a electrical repair shop. There was one next to la han auto but they asked me for a $45 diagnosis!!! Seriously!? One of my fuses could've just been loose or blown(which wasn't the case)!! I saw Mike or Hung pull up with a nice older Mercedes that had a VIP vibe to it so that caught my attention. Then I pulled up closer and saw a fabulously modded yellow s2000 which forced me to stop and check out the shop. I told mike about my problem with my car and he gave me an absolutely fair price on it and I also had a front lip installed at the same time too for a FAIR price. I had my front bumper lip installed very Mickey Mouse and Mike professionally did some drilling and tightening and my bumperlip was installed very flush as if a dealer had installed it, probably better than a dealer. He then lowered my car and checked out the electrical problem and did about 2 minutes of tinkering and tada, problem solved. All the time that he was working on my car we had been talking about cars and our take on the car scene, which made me really trust him, especially after seeing his yellow s2000. It's so hard to find a reputable neighborhood auto shop nowadays but this place is something else. I do not live in CA anymore but I had to find a body shop that could do work on my dad's precious (very old) Lexus. As much as I cringe at how much money they put in just to keep this thing alive, I know how much this car means to my dad. So finding someone who would care for it as much as my dad does gives him such comfort and peace of mind - and that makes me very happy.
