Very disappointed. Drove 30 mins to go have family luncheon at this restaurant and it was CLOSED. They are supposed to be open on Sundays and google says they are open???????????? how upsetting. No sign or nothing as to why they are closed on a day they are supposed to be open. read more

The food is very good. The service can be a little slow. You might not get a drink refill because you might not see the waitress soon enough. A large party might have some people done eating before others are served. Don't let my complaints deter you. Bottom line: this is a good choice for Mexican food. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for years. Final got in and ordered the quesadilla de polo. WOW!! This was loaded with cheese and chicken with the perfect amount of lettuce, onion, and sour cream. The outer show was crispy that added another layer to all the flavor and textures. Highly recommend this mom and pop shop. The service was amazing, very helpful during the ordering process. Your not going her for ambiance, just keep that in mind. read more

The food was not very good. The service was ok but we were the only people in tbe restaurant at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. My burrito was more like a wrap. It was literally wrapped in about 5 or 6 small tortillas and they just fell apart. My husband meal wasn't very good either. Nothing had flavor. All of the salsa options were super hot. The food was excellent but the woman's attitude was not. Just not friendly at all. I even asked my guests if I said anything wrong. Also be careful. Either I was way overcharged or the tip was already added in. I didn't realize that and tipped generously on top of what I was charged. When I got home I went over the prices from the menu online wondering why my bill was so much and only then realized this. So she ended up getting $23 tip on a $56 order (that's including taxes.) And she STILL had an attitude while ringing us out and seeing the size tip I mistakenly left her. (She did not point out that the tip was already included. ) read more

i've always drove by & wondered how the food was. we decided to stop in today & im sure glad we did because i found one of my new favorite places. before our food came, we were given tortillas & two sauces, both fresh and delicious. we ordered guacamole as an appetizer & that was beyond words - not your typical, bland guacamole. this was absolutely delicious. i got two shrimp tacos & the rice. i worried i didn't order enough food but i was absolutely stuffed and had some to take home because the portions were so generous. my shrimp tacos were double shell & extremely flavorful. the rice was spot on. i got carnitas to go for my boyfriend who's a total food snob & he was impressed - this was an hour later by the time i got it to him so that speaks volumes. the atmosphere was nice. we dined on the patio which had a relaxing atmosphere. the staff was friendly & attentive. five stars just isn't enough. the prices are beyond reasonable. definitely not your on the boarder/taco bell/chipotle - all the food was fresh & authentic. I grew up in California and can say honestly that La Herencia El Camacho knows what Mexican food is. It's hard to find out here in Pennsyltucky. Although Catasauqua isn't the busiest town around, it's worth popping over for. Just about 10 minutes from ABE (the airport) and the Target shopping center on Airport Road... you've gotta come taste it to believe it. Limes, radishes and cucumbers are served with the tacos and CILANTRO... LOTS OF CILANTRO - so fresh and amazing. They serve nice fresh hot tortilla chips with amazing salsa too... one is off-the-chain spicy, so make sure you have water on hand before you dig in. The food comes fast, the staff is friendly, and they currently have a Taco Tuesday special going that is mind blowing - you can walk out with a full belly for under $8. FANTASTIC. read more

One of my favorite spots in the Lehigh valley for a taco night. Take out or dine in the food is delicious. My fiancé isn't very adventurous when it comes to trying new food but we tried quite a few menu items one night and it did not disappoint! Very good authentic Mexican food. The tacos al pastor were great. The complimentary chips were fresh made and the two sauces which came with them were outstanding. The red sauce has quite a kick. Service was good and our food came out pretty quickly. We'd definitely go back here. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the atmosphere and parking area wasn't lit making it hard to see. The enchiladas were okie for authentic Mexican but ordering rice and beans that should have been 3$ for 8$ and having to pay for each bottle of water when the waitress specifically said the red sauce for the chips were very spicy was a bit to much. Usually I never write reviews because I know some restaurants slip from time to time but this time was probably the worst. The service isn't bad at all, people are friendly and place is clean. The food, however, it's quite disgusting and far from authentic which was odd considering the family is from Mexican heritage, I think. Food was dull and cold and recipes were messed up. I ordered a chicken Huarache but instead got a flour tortilla with huge chunks of onions and peppers, even with that, still no flavor at all. I saw this place getting good reviews on Google so I decided to try it out. We had lunch not long ago. I looked at the menu and didn't see any burritos. Can you imagine an authentic Mexican restaurant without a burrito on the menu?? The server told me they are revising the menu. Ummm, the place is fairly new...and you don't have a burrito on the menu? She said they would make one for me. (Gee thanks) What ended up being served was a small chicken wrap that was NOTHING like a burrito. I will say, it was good...but it wasn't want I wanted or ordered. Then came the best part. The server brought the check. The small chicken wrap that wasn't a burrito...was $15. I was shocked. $15 for a small wrap and I didn't even order a drink (I had water). I don't know how this place is getting such good reviews. Save your money and go someplace else. read more

We went twice; I believe in always giving a second chance. Each time we tried several different things. The only thing we liked was the al pastor taco. It is the only one we felt had good taste and flavor. Other's, the meat felt dry or not seasoned well. It was also hot as all heck in there both times we went. My husband and I visit the Catasaqua area monthly to see our grandson. We are from Harrisburg. My daughter had heard great reviews for this restaurant so we decided to have lunch there last month. We checked their WEB site for the operating hours on Sunday (10-7). When we got there at 11:30, they were closed. We were very disappointed but decided to try it next month. Yesterday, my daughter text this business to confirm that they will be opened and the response was "we will be opened from 10-7". When we arrived at 12:30, guess what??? The restaurant was closed. So as anxious as we were to try this place, based on such good reviews, we have now written it OFF and will be dining else where in the Catasaqua area. I would recommend that you call before going there, but that didn't work for us. read more

Again, this is somebodies version of Mexican Cuisine. Having been raised in Mexico was desperate to find some authentic Mexican food. This establishment tried and from what I gather, the owners are originally from Mexico.Unfortunately, their cooking style didn't reflect that. The homemade salsas (Green and Red) were acceptable. The rest of the dinner not so much. The Gorditas were a deep fried corn biscuit, split in half and dripping with old rancid oil. Likewise the Carnitas filling was greasy, way over cooked, dry and lacked any real flavor. The Chicken Quesadilla was filled with minced chicken bits, initially flavorful, then became greasy and unappealing. Quac was mediocre and the Pico was the same. Clean oil and better cooking techniques would serve this place well. The bones are there, but the preparation is lacking. Maybe, we got there too early for the dinner crowd and got the warmed up lunch leftovers. Shame, went quite a way to get to this place. Generally place was clean and friendly and service good. Will give it another try at a later date, maybe will get "comida de mi patria!!!" read more
