My friends and I have met here many times for a good meal and to catch up on life. We don't worry about budgets and we are good tippers. Tonight the service was abysmal. Our server seldom checked on us and we had to ask someone to send them by. The final straw was when I got dessert from a cart an employee pushed around - it looked good but was very dried out. I asked our server to take it off my ticket because I couldn't eat it. I was told they couldn't do that because it was made by an outside vendor. Poorly trained staff, bad management and I'll give an example, they have their waiters be there own bartenders, which is a tried & true bad, stupid concept. My waiter/bartender got me a drink, and as I was ready to order, he then proceeded to tell me that he had to make some drinks for another table and he would get right back to me, nearly 20 minutes later after making the most complicated micholatas for a big group right in front of me.... because I was sitting at the bar right in front of him! The waiter took the drinks over to the big group and they said "we are ready to order". I said to myself, "if this kid pulls out that pad and takea their food order, I'm out of here!" And so he did pull out his pad and proceeded to take their order, leaving me hanging, so I walked past him writing their order to pay & leave the establishment I then ask the cash register to tab me out which they then had to have my waiter cash me out. He then had the nerve to ask me what the problem was! I said "kid you gotta get better"! Told him all the mistakes he made , & that I was once a former waiter... he could've just put my food in the computer and then made the complicated time consuming drink order after...which I could've been eating my food while he was still spending 20 minutes concocting drinks all while he only had two tables to maintain! In the end - No compensation, no manager, nothin! Typical for Mexican restaurants because they won't shell out a free drink or a "I am sorry" we screwed up. Here's a free taco. Mexican restaurants are the worst at acknowledging their shortcomings and not making a wrong right. Unlike any other American establishment, who would give out a free appetizer or whatever! La Huerta (they) don't even have a customer service hotline on or a manager's phone number on your receipt. Goodbye,see you later ,never coming back! I urge everyone to not step foot in this joint. I've been here several times and it's a great place to get good Mexican food. We usally come for the lunch specials. The last time we came we ordered the Steven special and had the taco lunch special. Great salsa and always hot tortilla chips. The service here is always great. They separated the cold items from the hot which is amazing (Some places haven't) Ordered the side of beans and a large order of the cheese dip and MY GOD, they're massive. I don't know what I expected, but wow. Food was pretty good, lacked seasoning or just salt throughout the whole order. Chips tasted like they'd been sitting there all day. This was our first time eating at this establishment new to the town looking for a great Mexican restaurant. This restaurant is huge definitely looks like if I was to have a large gathering this would be a great place to have it. It was a very clean restaurant. Fast service we got seated immediately although it was busy. always impressed by a waitress who can take a tables order and not write one thing down and get it correct when serving. Showed up around 5 on the Friday before Cinco de Mayo, the place was slow, thought I'd get great service and great food, but my server wasn't attentive and didn't check on my for long periods of time. I blame myself for not reading the description, because I was surprised that I my tacos consisted of three flour tortillas with chopped up steak and a side refried beans. No veg, guac or cheese on the tacos, no rice on the side. Only a bland cup of pico. The steak was overcooked, almost to the point of being burnt and crunchy -- and so salty I only took one bite -- and I love salt. If the tacos had fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and sour cream that might have sucked up the salt. I left my plate untouched for 15 minutes before the waitress came over to check on me. She offered me a box, so I told her how salty the tacos were so she said she'd talk to the manager. She was gone for 10 minutes and just brought me my check, telling to tell the cashier. Our go to weekly Mexican restaurant. 1 star removed because the facility, especially the bathroom isn't very clean. Waiters are hit and miss, most of the time we have a great server, other times there's a major language barrier. Service is usually very friendly though, and they always give our kids candy on the way out the door. They have the typical Mexican menu, we love the pollo loco (spicy seasoned chicken breast) and if you really like spice, the camarones a la Diabla. They offer margs, frozen and on the rocks in various flavors. Their service is super fast. We have never had to wait longer than 10-15 min for our food. Pretty solid place. read more

La Huerta is part of our Friday night routine. They have happy hour specials before 6. We enjoy their margaritas and chips and queso/salsa. They offer the regular Mexican dishes served here in NWA. Their service is fast and friendly, though with most servers, language is an issue, resulting in us asking for the same thing repeatedly (ie not getting an appetizer until the entrees come). In a nutshell, drinks were great, but the food tasted just like a frozen TV dinner! Second experience with La Huerta at alternate location, will not be a third! What a disaster !! These people are lousy and should be ashamed calling themselves a restaurant. Over an hour and a half and could not even get four lunch specials. Waitress appeared to be a wacko and spent her time acting confused. Had to order twice with two separate waitresses and still could not get food. The Manager's response was he would not charge us? What the hell ?? Charge for what? We never got served. Took an hour to get three glasses of ice water and one ice tea. CONS: Went to eat here last night for dinner and at 2:30 am was head-over-the-toilet barfing up that chimichanga. We had noticed their floor was dirty and our table needed replacing. A BIG chunk of the veneer had be been ripped off and the raw wood underneath was showing. Waitstaff appeared untrained, unsupervised and uninterested. Front entrance was also dowdy and dirty.
