Small little takeout place with a few chairs by the window. They offer Wonderful Churros and good coffee. The Spanish speaking woman taking our order only spoke a little English so our coffee order wasn't exactly what we asked for. But she was so sweet we didn't mind. This place always delivers delicious, crispy, fried, fresh churros in a variety of flavors for a reasonable price. The employees are always welcoming and patient whenever I've ordered here in the past. The cafe itself is small but cozy and warm inside due to the constant frying. It is more of a takeout place but there are some stools if you want to sit and have a coffee and churro. I ordered the dozen churros for me and the family to indulge in. The churros were filled with flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cream cheese, and cajeta. All were delicious and you can't go wrong when you have a sweet tooth and are craving churros! I'm always looking for a place to get good churros and I found it. This place was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint me at all. They specialize in churros but they have other goodies to offer like funnel cake. Hmmm, next time for sure. For today, I ordered a dozen of different filled flavored churros (strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, cajeta, nutella, and cream cheese). I couldn't decide which one so why not try them all. Delicious. Made fresh in front of you and warm with fillings of your desire. It's a small establishment and easily missed if you're not paying attention but they make it work. Street parking on a main street in the heart of Melrose Park. They accept cash and credit cards. Spanish speaking employees so I had to rely on Google translate but they were friendly. I have been ordering here for a long time. I've never had issues. In fact, I've recommended this place to many people. I ordered two dozen churros for Thanksgiving and I was greatly disappointed. I know that restaurants have bad days but it's how they handle the mistakes that make great businesses. My order was under cooked. The dough tasted horrible. Only one of the two dozen was eaten. Everyone at the party looked how undercooked it was and didn't touch the rest. When I called Casa del Churro, I was told they can't help me with it. I was told to call back again but with an attitude. Why in the world would I call back again? I'd rather write this review and have the public know. read more

A small cafe in Melrose Park that serves funnel cakes and freshly made Churros. I saw online that it opens up on Saturday's at 9AM. I arrived around 9:10AM. The lady behind the counter told me to give her 20 minutes. There was nothing absolutely made. I decide to wait because I wanted to try a few of the flavored churros. This was a great little find in an area I do not visit very often. I'm guessing that it is family run and everyone was very friendly. The churros were on point. I think I killed two of them before we made it out of Melrose Park. We tried vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. They had a few other flavors to choose from, and their prices were about average. They had a professional model espresso machine. I had an Americano and it was average, but I am admittedly particular about my coffee. If I had any constructive criticism, it would be to look into a better coffee bean. I liked that they took precautions for COVID. The place is small, so I am not sure if they ever have seating. Worth a try if in the area. read more

I am very disappointed because I come here all the time. First off the young lady asked what I wanted and kept asking is that it with an attitude. Paid, she took my money (cash) touched her phone her neck her hair and even put her nail in her mouth all while touching the churros without a glove. She has to turn on the oil to cook the churros. I had to throw them out when I got home. I don't know if they were cleaning to close but she kept looking at the door kinda disappointed to see about 3-4 customers walking in at the same time. It is not easy to find this place. I almost gave up until I started reading very carefully each business name on that block. It would help so much if every business in this block had their own style name on the business. Yelp sent me to the corner on Lake and 19th but it's actually on the opposite corner same side of street. It's a tiny place but it's so worth it. They make the charros right in front of you. I love this place!!! It has awesome coffee. They have a lot of variations and styles of coffees. Also the churros here are amazing!!! I personally recommend the funnel cake sundae! I have been coming here since it opened and it's always good. The service and everyone who works here is always so nice. This is a hidden gem in Melrose Park. I really like this place, nothing beats a fresh churro right out the fryer. I love that they have different flavors on different days. They also have a variety of coffee options. I had the Nutella churro and mocha latte both were delish. I wish they were open earlier so I can grab a churro and coffee before work. I also wish they had churros drizzled with caramel or chocolate on top instead of just filled. Either way I love this place and would def recommend. read more

I'm very excited that Melrose Park has a small cafe like this one. My family and I went there last night and we ordered churros, cappuccino hazelnut, ice cream and everything was delicious! Prices are on the high side for the butcher meats. But I guess you should expect that since they are an artisanal butcher. I did not like the look of some of the meats in the cases. Would we go back? Maybe to try the Bacon Burger. But we would definitely recommend eating your food in the butcher shop and not taking it to go. I have just found out that that are moving into Carnival Grocery in Oak Park.

It's been years since I've had "Fruit Roll-Ups Fruit by the Foot", but I thought the gummy flavor was like what I remember those tasting like. Personally, I find these much more enjoyable than the one note standard Nerds as the berry gummy core adds additional flavor and texture. If you've had a Nerds Rope then you know what to expect as it's essentially the same thing, but in bite sized portions. I've reviewed the Gummy Clusters Rainbow before, but this was my first time having the Very Berry version. It can be challenging to differentiate the Nerds flavors as they're all super sweet and tend to taste relatively alike. I would have to eat this back-to-back with the Rainbow version to possibly tell a difference, but as far as the flavor goes, I think they are both somewhat similar. The obvious difference is the coloring, which is an improvement in my opinion. The packaging is a lovely blue instead of dark pink and the candy itself utilizes blue, purple, and pink Nerds. This is as opposed to the Rainbow's green, yellow, orange, pink, and purple, which I don't find as visually appealing. The mazapan didn't have the mazapan taste I was expecting. I've had a mazapan shake at a different cafe before that taste like the true mazapan candy and it was amazing. This one has a bitter peanut butter taste to me. I wouldn't get that one again. Nutella hot chocolate was good. Chipotle chicken sandwich was not spicy at all. I also wasn't expecting it to my friend. It was good tho. The fries were good. The decor was adorable!! It's a whole vibe honestly. My kiddo was obsessed. There was nothing my kiddo didn't love. Except the bathroom lol it was 'boring' compared to everything else. If you want a super cute photo op, sweet treat and delicious lunch I highly recommend stopping into sugar milk! You won't be disappointed.
