This place is inside of a Mexican supermarket. They have did some renovations and added a few things to their outside seating area. Everything is really nice. Not very big but can hold a nice amount of people and very intimate. The employees are very nice helpful and friendly. Food is very good I consider it pretty much authentic Mexican food for sure. Prices are very affordable there is a special every day. Thursday is one of my favorite the tacos are $1.50.

I only tried the supermarket (or more appropriately the "supermercado") part of La Jalisco Supermercado, so I can only speak of the market part. First, this Market has definitely seen better days. It could probably also use a bit of a deep cleaning. Another negative is they did not have a lot of parking. However, there was a lot of good to go with those few negatives. They have a meat department that looked pretty good. Their selves also contains a lot of interesting product. I often stop in both Mexican and Asian markets when I travel to see if they have something unique that I cannot get in the Mexican and Asian market by my house. This one did not have really anything that I had never seen before, but that is not a bad thing. They also have an area where they have hot food. I had just eaten dinner at a Mexican restaurant so I did not try anything there. I can pretty much guarantee that I would have had a better price point eating here as opposed to where I did. And there is a good chance that the food would have been better. So, as I said, I can only review the market parts. Overall I would give it four stars.

The menu! Ps don't ask for enchiladas - they don't serve them.

I'm spoiled: I live in Atlanta, a few hours away, with innumerable authentic Mexican restaurants. This place is on par with those, with the novelty of it being located in Valdosta, Georgia. Food: was authentic as one could expect in Vadosta. Based on reviews, order the tacos. One chicken, one al pastor, one chorizo. We order these to go on our way back to Atlanta from Florida. The sauces that accompany them were delicious with varying degrees of spice. The red one the spiciest. The chorizo taco was the best in my opinion. I found the others to be fairly dry texture but the flavor was pretty good. My mom got a veggie quesadilla which was giant and really well done. Melted cheese and grilled veggies. I recommend this. The portion size was also adequate for a meal. The crazy corn was less than I had expected. Possibly steamed versus frozen corn with some spices and cream topped with Queso Blanco. This really should be broiled over the grill. I would skip this in the future. In summary, this restaurant is authentic and oh by the way part of a supermarket (supermercado) but not worth the detour off the interstate unless you're really craving some authentic Mexican fare.

Menudo was great. A similar flavor to real mexican hangover dish.

We tried, menudo, caldo de res, tamales, tacos, sopes and huaraches. I believe menudo and barbacoa tacos were the winners.

Love this hidden Mexican restaurant/grocery store in Valdosta! I do believe they have different specials throughout the week; which gives would be something to check out. The food surpasses the other Mexican restaurants in town. The tortillas taste fresh and homemade. They have a meat market and bakery inside as well. I think you can't go wrong with this stop. It's definitely more authentic and fresh than any other Mexican restaurants in Valdosta; can't go wrong.

Stellar food! Like most people I enjoy eating delicious food. If your hungry and want something tasty this is the place. Homemade chips and salsa, top notch service and they got a supermarket where you can get all sorts of goodies. I plan on becoming a regular here!

Menu, about as authentic as you are going to get in Valdosta. The ambiance, the aromas, and the food all speak authentic?

From the time you hit the door you know you are about to experience the true taste of another culture. The food was very good compared to the imitators out there. The prices are quite reasonable. My only complaint is that the tamale was on the old and dry side. But everything else was fine.

The best Mexican in the city. That I have found. The shrimp ceviche is as good as you will find in and restaurant in Atlanta.

During my visit, I placed an order before another couple who arrived after me. While waiting, I observed that the later-arriving couple received their food before me. From my perspective, there was no obvious explanation for the difference in service, such as a different menu item or an expedited option that was communicated to customers. What made the situation particularly noticeable was that the employees appeared to interact with the other couple primarily in Spanish, resulting in a more personalized and attentive experience. Whether intentional or not, it created the perception that customers with whom employees shared a common language or cultural familiarity were receiving preferential treatment. In any customer-facing business, perception matters just as much as intent. Restaurants succeed when every customer believes they are treated with the same level of respect, attentiveness, and fairness. If there are legitimate reasons why orders are prepared or served out of sequence, those reasons should be transparent and consistently applied. Otherwise, customers are left to conclude that different standards are being used. I might return because the food was enjoyable, but I hope management evaluates its service practices to ensure that every guest receives an equally attentive and equitable experience, regardless of the language they speak or their background.

This place is in the back side of a store. It's very open and colorful. It looks as if it may feature a buffet, but there wasn't one today. The table gets complimentary corn chips and salsa. We decided to order a variety of items such as tacos, sopes, and a burrito. It was all asada for us today. Unfortunately, all of our asada dishes had a lot of fat/grissle. I wouldn't mention it if it were a piece, but it was a fair amount. My dish, considering it was a large burrito, didn't seem to have much meat, either. It was also an open burrito where the edges weren't folded in so that got a little messy. Overall, the flavors in the dishes were nice, but there were a couple iffy things. I'd give it a 3.5 but considering the prices, cleanliness, and flavors I will bump it to 4.

I lived on the Valley (South Texas) border for serval years and would visit Northern Mexico often to eat and shop. I haven't had this type of food in years other than in places like Atlanta and D.C. I have never had a Sope in the states like I had here. I have had similar Central American sopes in the U.S. but they are a little different than Mexican sopes I am used to. The Pastor is incredibly delicious. Full of porky, pineappley, annatto spiced flavor. The lengua, asada, carnitas, and borrego (lamb) are fantastic as well (I only wish they had cabrito but the borrego was good enough). They are served many different fashions including with the authentic and traditional "silver dollar" corn tortilla tacos. The rice and beans are of the same quality. The Aguas Frescas like Horchata and Melon are rich and full of natural flavors. They do serve menudo and have a great priced lunch buffet I have not tried yet. The service is good, Spanish helps but you can navigate the experience well enough. The attached store is full of everything you need for your Mexican home cooking spice needs and candies like spicy mango lollies, Rosa Mazapan, and many others are available at cheap prices. If you are missing the real deal Mexican experience like I was you will not be disappointed. No gringo counterfeiters here. This place will take you home. If you don't know what real Mexican food is give it a try. Some things will be familiar, mostly in name, but this is NOT American style Mexican food.
