Nothing really special about the food, it wasn't amazing but it wasn't terrible. Chips were a bit hard and cold and queso was watery. I had the steak fajita and the steak pieces were quite tough and my rice came out cold. My boyfriend had the carne asada burrito which wasn't too special. Food also took a while to come out. I recently relocated to Georgia from Florida. In search for the best Mexican. I had 2 enchiladas. I didn't know it didn't come with rice. I had some of my friend's yellow rice. It has a very cool vibe and my server was extremely friendly, professional and definitely enhanced my dining experience. The ambiance is shabby chic with its bare brick walls with cheaply painted in cheap white paint logos of companies by my table was the logo for Georgia Beer Co. and while I cannot praise the artistic prowess, it certainly added to the vibe. To start the meal, they brought me tortilla chips with salsa as well as bean dip. Both were very good. For my entree I went with the chicken fajitas. While I did find them a bit expensive, they were good and I am sure that I was paying a bit more for the downtown Valdosta location. In the past I would love to go to this restaurant because of the food and the staff. Lately that is no longer the case. Too many staff changes and the quality of food is not what it used to be. Especially when you find a piece of bone in your chicken quesadilla?! I called the restaurant after picking up my meal and asked about it. A shock sound from whomever picked up, followed by an actual explanation on how they make quesadilla!? What??!! I didn't need explanation on that, nore the "condescending tone" . The person wanted me to contact door dash, as if it was their fault, I shut that down quick. I made the person understand that this issue is the fault of the restaurant not door dash, and it is something that needs better care to ensure the safety of customers, no one needs excuses. Instead of rushing food out, make sure there is nothing in the meat that doesn't belong and that the food looks edible. Sorry El Paso, but not ordering or going again. read more

What a great place downtown to grab Mexican food and a cold beer!! My kiddos brought me for lunch with the kids and place was packed , well organized and clean. We sat in the back with the kids and trashed the place but Trey was our server and he was the best!! 2 babies, loud, we are the ones people look at but Trey knew to get them food first, kept us with fresh beer and food the entire time and never wrote anything down. So nice and I get out today, have a great meal, service from a pro, excellent quality food. Thanks for the good time and great meal!! Made happy campers of my whole family!! Let me start by saying the food was good but I will be returning for the interaction I've just experienced. I just recently moved to Valdosta and figured I'll give this place a try. It's a Tuesday and I wanted some tacos (go figure) and our waiter Denton deserves a raise and then some. Coming from a big city you grow and working many years in the food/customer service industry custom to quality service so coming to a small city you don't expect this type of attention, his attitude and his entire personality brightened up my day. A couple friends and I went to eat and the waitress rushed us to get our food. she asked if we were ready one time and came back again very shortly after and told us if we don't order food we can't eat our bean dip and that we have to be a customer when we just were not ready to order food yet. Found this little gem driving through Georgia on our way to Tennessee! We stopped on a Monday and to our amazing surprise our waitress told us they had a house Margarita special for 1.99!! Tried El Paso with my friend when visiting her in Valdosta. I don't know much about Valdosta but I was not expecting this place to have such fun/trendy/IG worthy vibes. The decor is fun and hip. They were having a two for one margarita deal which was their first gold star in my book. The mugs that the margs come in are pretty small sooo....you should probably plan to get two anyways. They were good nonetheless, I believe I said "tastes like Mexico!" after my first sip (traveled there back in April). I thought their salsa was really good with a little kick to it and the bean dip was tasty too! We also ordered queso, nothing special but no complaints there either. I ordered the streat tacos, mixed and matched the chicken, steak, and pork. I was expecting more since their name is "tacos & tequila". All of my meat was really tough and chewy with not a lot of flavor. I added some queso to the tacos which always helps but would probably try something different next time. Don't do it. I was traveling and wanted Mexican, typed in "food" and this place popped up. The reviews were 4.5 stars. That cannot be possible. You will never make me believe this place ever earned any stars organically, except for the gratuitous 1 star that Yelp even gives to the worst of the worst. Started out, waiting to be seated... and waiting... and waiting... finally, young Bethany smiled at me and helped me get a table. I must've waited 10 minutes. My partner went to the restroom during this time and he said there was a huge line, plus lots of party time in the kitchen... one bathroom was locked and another employee was banging on the door. We were seated outside. I asked for 2 waters. When they arrived we ordered food. I got 2 tacos with beans (vegetarian strikes again) and I asked for no lettuce, add cilantro and onion. My partner got the Chile relleno dinner. We were not asked about drinks. When the food showed up, it was one plate with 2 Chile relleno. Another plate with one taco shell sitting in a puddle of liquid beans and a sprinkle of cilantro and onion. It was hard not to laugh, as it seemed like a comedy show. I literally looked at my taco joke and then looked for someone filming my reaction. I was not being filmed... it was heartbreaking. So we had to speak up. "Where is the dinner part of this meal? And how would you even truly eat a taco like this, plus where is the taco stuff? Also, no chips, salsa? We ordered queso too." And so the two kids who barely spoke English said they would grab the rest. I waited for Bethany to return. I asked her if she really thought the taco looked edible? And she had a food runner so she didn't see it. Waiting 15 minutes for the server to return, I ate the dang thing, cuz I was starving and we still didn't have chips, salsa or queso. I decided to order the bean nachos, $10.99, it came on one of those large cookie sheets. Except my cookie sheet was like 1/3 covered in nachos. Another funny joke by the El Paso Taco Comedy show. No bueno. So my nachos had beans and cheddar cheese, plus queso. All 15 chips tasted great. All the toppings come on the side- pico, jalapeño, guac, sour cream. Weird. We finally got chips and salsa- well, about 4 ounces of salsa, and there were more chips in the FREE basket than I got for my nachos. Are you serious? Okay, so at this point, I'm not happy. I'm getting ripped off and the kitchen is having a party. Poor Bethany, who is brand new, out here trying to navigate this sh*t show all by herself. She handled it so well. She brought us the salad... it was a tiny cup. Another hilarious segment to this comedic classic in the making. Wait it gets better... we bought a $18.99 fish bowl margarita, because it was necessary to try to LAUGH at this point. The bill comes and this is the best part: we were charged Al A Carte prices for all of it. The little itty bitty salad? $6.99 my taco shell with bean purée was $3.50. Total bill was about $65. I was not gonna pay that. I considered just walking out, but I've never actually done that before and Bethany deserved better... so it remained a fantasy in my mind. Instead, I just went full Karen. Asked to speak to a manager. Another wait. Wait. Wait... here comes Bethany, with my bill... manager took off $4.41. Well, not acceptable. Asked her to please let him know I wanna chat. He finally showed up. Realized our bill was not correct, made some excuses, claimed he can't change how they do the tacos, told me the nachos looked right...? I told him, the margarita, yes, we will buy that. The taco, sure... cuz I ate it, but what a lame taco. It was a chip with bean dip. The nachos? I feel I should only pay half price and the chili relleno dinner we will pay for, but not a la carte. He sent the bill back and it was $51. I still wasn't happy. I paid the bill and told Bethany she was doing great, maybe needs to learn the menu a bit better and check in more often- however they were very busy, she's brand new and the manager was hosting the kitchen party, not training employees or doing much at all... so she was doing her very best, holding down the fort so the rest of the staff could have a good time. This poor girl needs some support, she has a great attitude and was literally the only good part of my experience. I tipped her $15 and I hope that manager didn't make her pay for the mistakes. I will never return. Too bad, cuz there was some decent flavors in there. Great concept, terrible execution. Needs stronger management presence, better training and someone needs to be looking at portions and pricing. I also felt like some patrons looked really young to be drinking margaritas... no one asking for ID in that place. Certainly not that manager. A must visit for locals to Valdosta! The #41 was the most flavorful steak. I will say there weren't enough corn tortillas that came with it. The #56 had awesome veggies and the chicken was damn good too. Margs were a little too much mixer in my opinion but a good size. If you like hot sauce ask for the red Chile sauce. It had good flavor and a decent kick. Our server was attentive and extremely polite and very knowledgeable of the menu and offered good recommendations instead of just trying to make a sale. I expected chicken pieces, maybe some corn.... what I got was liquid without any substance, literally nothing except a bunch of soggy tortilla strips and couple avocado pieces. now, I could work with this, since I was really wanting liquid, but the liquid ( that was suppose to be soup) didn't have any flavor at all. it was like they had some broth from a can warmed up and threw tortilla strips in it and topped with couple avocado cubes.
